Trilogy Clarifying Cleansing Gel

This gel is a rebalancing wash for a clean complexion. It contains witch hazel, salicylic acid and rosehip. This product lathers well for a beautifully clean face, the salicylic acid gently exfoliates the top layer of skin and clears oil from the surface. The fragrance is herbaceous and fresh. Skin looks renewed, brighter and ready for the next steps to follow - serum and moisturizer. My pores are feeling tighter and less obvious since I started using. A great first step in the skincare regime.

I was very excited to be chosen for this trial, I am 38 but have always as long as i can remember have oily skin, i wish this range was available years ago. The clarifying cleansing gel comes in a lovely elegant 200ml glass pump bottle, so looks gorgeous on your bathroom vanity or in the shower. I love the mix of witch hazel, salicylic acid and rosehip in this gel, which are very beneficial for clarifying, tones, exfoliating and nourishing. It feels refreshing on the skin, with a subtle scent and does not dry my skin out.

I was excited to receive this to trial. Having sensitive skin I always find it difficult to get a good cleanser that doesn't either make me break out or turn my skin into a dessert. This cleansing gel is really nice. Its a gel consistency and is soft to the touch. Having the pump was great, one pump did my entire face, neck and décolletage. I popped it in the shower so I could use it every morning when I got up for work. Although it said keep clear of the eye area, I wanted to see if it would remove the remains of my make-up, which I'm happy to say it did and which not stinging, yay! It did not dry my skin out and in fact, I had small patch's of scaly, dry skin around my nose which seem to improve while I was using this. All in all, a really nice product to use and I would definitely recommend it as a good every day cleanser and Trilogy is normally pretty affordable too. I will def be looking out for this product when it hits the shelves.

Such an easy to use product and smells so good! When the bottle turned up it felt luxurious and expensive (it is Trilogy after all!) and is pricier than I usually use. But it felt like a treat.

The pump dispenser bottle makes it easy to get a good portion of the gel out, rather than having to fiddle with screw top lids etc. And I found that one pump was more than enough to get the job done. This is probably due to the gel formula rather than a liquid or cream. I tried this gel on both wet and dry skin and felt that it worked better on dry. No idea if this is right or not!

It rinsed off easily leaving my skin feeling nice and clean. But the best thing is the smell. That alone made me feel refreshed.

Firstly the smell is simply divine! It’s so clean and fresh and has a very slight rockmelon scent to it. It’s a very light formula and didn’t dry my skin out afterwards, instead it felt clean and soft! I always worry when I’m having a breakout about not making it any worse but this cleanser was totally fine. Also having the added benefits of witch hazel and salicylic acid is really great when your skin is having a moment! Will definitely repurchase!

I really liked this cleansing gel! I have dry and sensitive skin and this worked well. The formula is nice and gentle and made my skin feel nice and clean, without irritation!

The pump bottle is perfect and the packaging is high end! Such a nice product, I am looking to try more from this brand. So gentle and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight - which I find from some other cleansers!

A five star product.

This is an awesome product. It comes in a beautiful pump bottle, and has a nice fresh fragrance. Its meant for combination skin, which is perfect for me. I have normal skin, except for some oily areas around my cheek bones. You only have to squirt a little in your hands, and it makes a nice lather. Just one pump does the whole face & neck, so very economical. Its got a gel consistency and not too soapy. I used it on my eyes too, and it worked its magic on my makeup. It leaves the skin feeling very fresh and balanced. Its definitely going to be a regular in my bathroom.

This comes in an amber glass pump bottle (recyclable) which you twist the top up to use. Unfortunately the pump would not twist open for me, so I had to decant into another container to use. This was OK as the consistency of the gel was liquid enough to squeeze out of another bottle. The ingredients are witch hazel (astringent to clarify & tone), salicylic acid from willow bark (exfoliant) & rosehip & oils (to nourish). The fragrance is mint & melon. I couldn’t detect mint but it definitely smells fresh & ‘plant based’ – most pleasant. It does contain Benzyl alcohol as a preservative but this is considered to be a safe ingredient in skincare although can cause itching if people have very sensitive skins. I had absolutely no issues. The blurb says “the cleanser is light, non-drying & soap free & will cleanse without a tight dry feeling”. So, you massage onto damp skin & rinse with warm water to use. I used it morning & night in the shower & also used it to wash off my make-up. It does say to avoid eye area which I ignored as it also removed my make-up (even Benefit mascara). It did sting my eyes slightly as I rubbed off the mascara but after the first time I kept my eyes tightly closed & continued to use it as I was impressed with how well it removed make-up without having to rub my eyes. My skin did feel slightly tight the first couple of times I used it, but I think this was more to do with the fact it felt different to what I had been using. My skin definitely felt clean & fresh & I will happily continue to use it.

This is a lovely cleanser. I have really been enjoying using this, it not only really cleans my face and pores but it doesn't give me the tight feeling afterwards I have found with other cleanser I have used. My skin feels soft after use which I really enjoy. My skin feels much more supple now and to me my skin looks fresh and healthy. The slight minty fragrance is enjoy able too. I don't know why but when skin care has a minty smell I always feel refreshed and renewed (that might just me me though haha) The pump bottle is really easy to use, something's I find pump bottles a little stiff to pump but this one is fantastic.

Like every Trilogy product I've ever used, it smells wonderful and isn't too strong or overpowering. It goes on easily and most importantly washes off easily without lathering too much (no person with oily or combination skin wants to feel like they have product left behind). After you have rinsed and dried your skin feels very clean which I assume is due to the slight exfoliating action which is great to start the day and after a day of wearing make up. Definitely a great cleanser for oily/combination skin. Plus when I accidentally got it near my eyes it didn't burn. My only concern was the glass bottle and I did not feel comfortable putting this in my shower (clumsy kids) which made it mildly inconvenient in the mornings. Plus my first sample got smashed in the mail and I had to have a replacement sent out. This would not put me off purchasing it though.
