Lush Olive Branch Body Wash Review

If your body is beaten by the rigours of the rat race, accept an olive branch. The Olive Branch has a welcoming, Mediterranean warmth to it, with fairly traded olive oil to soften your skin, an infusion of vine leaves, mineralising sea salt and the fresh juice of mandarins. When you wash with this one, your mind will be whisked away to mandarin groves and sunny beaches.

Doesn't stand out

I'm a huge Lush fan kind of obsessed almost but who doesn't love Lush all the beautifully scented products, the fact they help out the little guys, ethically sourced ingredients, The list goes on.

So I do most of my lush buying online and I had scrolled past this numerous times because nothing really stood out about it to me. Once it arrived I did a wee sniff then a try and it still doesn't stand out.....

I ordered a 100ml just to try it before getting a larger bottle if I liked it. But this shower gel is not something that I love and would order over and over. It's nice but not the typical Lush product that punches you in the face with the scent.

The colour of this is an orange colour with like a white cream that has settled on the top so a big shake is a must. It's also quite a runny shower gel especially when it's warmed up. The scent is a subtle mandarin not strong at all and it doesn't linger on your skin like most lush products long after your shower. It does leave your skin silky smooth and feeling amazing but just without the scent

I probably won't buy this again purely because I love the stronger scented shower gels.

A lush Best Seller

This was another items in one of the numerous Lush gift packs i got given (or that i brought myself, don't judge). This was actually a product i was really excited about trying because it seems to be a really populour product that is included in a lot of the Lush gift packs, aswell as being a bestseller on their website.

This shower gel comes in the typical lush container, which is made from a clear soft plastic, with a black lid. Because its a soft plastic, it is really easy to squeeze the product out, but becauase the lid only has a small hole, it means you can control how much comes out, so there is less wastage. Always a good thing when your paying $13.00 for 100ml of body wash.

This shower gel is a gorgeous amber orange colour. Its stunning but sometimes it separates and get like a milky look that sits on the top of the product. However, a good shake seems to fix that!

This shower gel is a good consistency. Its like a gel body wash, and i think that's the best way i can describe it. It has a gorgeous slightly citrus scent to it, but i also find it smells kind of masculine! Which is great, because it means that the other half likes using it too. On second thought, that may be a downside. I can be a bit selfish when it comes to sharing my Lush Products, but who can blame me!

This product lathers up well, and cleans skin without stripping it. I find it also leaves my skin feeling hydrated if anything, which might be because of the olive oil.

Overall, a nice body wash for Lush, but not one of my favourites.

Not for me

I was very lucky to be sent this for free in a rather large order I placed recently, lucky because I discovered I didn't like the scent much and I am glad I hadn't paid for it myself.

The bottle is the standard Lush shower gel bottle with flip top cap, the shower gel actually settles in the bottle leaving a creamy portion on the uppermost part of the bottle as as you'd imagine you need to shake the bottle prior to use.

Once mixed the golden amber liquid becomes more opaque and it's actually quite runny (be warned as it will get away from you easily).

The scent reminds me of the Mens body spray Lynx... I don't mind it on others but not one I would pick out for myself (personally I found it a masculine scent and I prefer sweeter notes).

It lathers okay and feels clean after yet moisturized at the same time (not greasy as I had imagined for some reason).

Lush Olive Branch Body Wash

I gave this product a good few sniffs at the store on more than a few occasions before I took the plunge and purchased the 250ml bottle.

You have 3 purchase options for this body wash,100g,250g and 500g. They all come in a clear plastic bottle with the little black plastic flip lid for ease of use in your shower.

I love it when I am a bit dubious about a product, but when I use it I wonder what took me so long to make up my mind. This is one of those times.

I bought the 250ml bottle which will last an absolute age as when you use with a shower puff you need the smallest amount. Amazing value for money.

I pour the smallest amount onto my shower puff and start to wash. It lathers up beautifully and you feel so clean and refreshed. Your skin feels soft and supple. The fragrance is manadins which is so pleasent.

The whole bathroom smells amazing and you do to!

Tips: Take care pouring onto your shower puff, you dont need too much.

Lush Olive Branch Body Wash 100g

I got given a gift pack for my birthday that contained a 100g bottle of the olive branch shower gel! At first i hated the smell of it but thought i may as well keep using it to see if i would get over the smell or not. It is a very fresh scent! A few weeks have passed now and i have finished the bottle. I like that it wasn't thick but it lathered up really easy and a little bit went a long way. Would i buy it my self? No because i am more of a sweet scented girl so if you prefer more sweet scents this one defiantly wont be for you! although in the end i didn't hate it i also didn't love it.

This has really grown on me

This is a shower gel I've looked over quite a few times whilst browsing instore and online but I decided to get a small bottle one day just to give it a go.

This is in a clear squeeze bottle like every other lush gel. It has a black label which has all the ingredients and also a sticker with who made it and when it's best to use it by. This gel is a lot runnier than what I'm used to. It also needs to be shaked as it separates. IT doesn't look to amazing separated but when you shake it, it changes to a gorgeous apricot colour.

The scent of this is really refreshing. IT has a light citrus kick, it's different to the kind of citrus you usually smell in products. The mandarin has no sour note but it isn't sweet either. I think I can smell a hint of olive oil as well, it sounds weird but it meshes really well together. I usually go for the strong, sweet scents and at first just didn't think this did much for me. Now after using it for few weeks and almost using up my bottle, I'm in love. I'm not sure how long this lingers on the skin afterwards as I use perfume and lotion after. I have dry skin and this doesn't dry out my skin at all.

This lathers well, better than you'd expect from such a runny product. I do find I use a bit more than I intend it too, it's hard to control how much comes out as you don't need to sueeze the bottle at all.

I have about 20 lush shower gels at the moment, so I won't be repurchasing any time soon but I will; definitely in the future.

Leaves you skin super silky and smooth

This was one of the first Lush products I tried. At first I wasn't convinced as I found it was just like a normal body wash from the supermarket, but my mind was changed. I love how smooth and silky this body wash makes your skin feel afterwards. It feels very luxurious and hydrating.

This body wash has a separated layer sitting on top of it if you leave the bottle just sitting there. So before you use it make sure to shake it well so the two layers mix together. The body wash lathers easily, I did however use a loofah to apply it to my skin. It's very easy to spread all over your body and you defiantly feel clean and refreshed after using it. The bonus with this body wash is that it's very hydrating. I would definitely recommend this to those that have dry skin.

To me this didn't really smell like olives, but I was glad that it didn't because I personally don't like olives. The smell is very delicate and fresh, I quite like the smell. I can pick up the Mediterranean scents and to me it smells a bit earthy and reminds me of nature. This body wash has a gel based texture. The consistency is why you expect from a body wash, maybe slightly on the thinner side. The colour of the body wash is a deep orange brown.

The bottle is the typical Lush bottle, simple clear cylinder shaped bottle with a black click top lid. The one downside I find is that the plastic bottle is quite hard, so when you get down to the bottom quarter of the product you end up having to squeeze quite hard. I ended up just leaving my bottle upside down to get every last drop out. I also love the fact that you can save up your Lush containers and if you return five of them you get a free face mask.

I am not a fan of eating olives but I will happy put this on my skin any day. It is on the pricey side, but organic products are always more expensive. I would defiantly they repurchase this product.

Tips: shake well before using to mix the layers up.

Will repurchase again and again!

I originally received a 100ml bottle of this as a gift and loved it so much that I had to buy myself a big bottle which is still going strong! What I love most about this product is that it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry like a lot of other body washes do. Because this body wash has olive oil in it, it leaves my body feeling moisturised which I love. I also find that I do not need to put much of it on my loofa to get a decent lather, which is why my bottle has lasted me such a long time. Its definitely worth the money since I haven't had to buy a new body wash in such a long time. The design of the bottle is great as the body of the bottle is quite long and thin so its easy to hold onto, the small hole in the lid also makes it a breeze to dispense the perfect amount. This is definitely something that I will be repurchasing.

Tired of it quickly!

I got this as part of a gift pack called 'All the Best' and have always wanted to try it. It's quite a subtle scent and not too overpowering like some Lush shower gels can be. It smells of mandarins and sweet citrus (if that's even a thing?). I got the small 100g bottle but it was enough to get my fix. It sticks to the Lush design that I love and adore. Usually such bland looking designs make me walk straight past but Lush has a way of attracting my attention with the rustic looking labels and the personal touch of who made it along with the expiration date.

I do think that the name doesn't suit the product. The Olive Branch doesn't give it the oomph it deserves in my opinion. The liquid is an amber colour which gives it an almost fiery appearance. I do like that the opening because it allows the right amount of liquid to be squeezed out without too much wastage.

When lathering it on my skin it acts just like any other supermarket bought shower gels but without the harsh chemical which my skin more often than not hates. It fills my shower with the heavenly smell of the Mediterranean. The mandarin is evident more than anything. After rinsing off my skin is feeling quite smooth and cleansed but to me if there aren't a multitude of bubbles I am not clean enough so comes round two with the gel.

After a while the smell becomes boring and the task of washing twice to give me peace of mind that I am clean enough quickly becomes tiresome. I put left it on the shelf for weeks before using again. The thing that also makes me not want to reach for it more often is that it develops a milky substance over the top and no matter how much I shake it, the milky substance remains. I am for now over it but who knows I may find my love for it again.

Tips: Shake regularly to minimize the milky substance settling
