Any product which can do 3 things in 1 and make it easy for me instead of having to use 3 different bottles out and then guess what I’ve applied where (so maybe I leave out or double up on some areas) is a plus. Also did it work - yes I think I’ve seen an improvement in my skin so this is a product I’ll keep using. If there’s a downside it’s that I didn’t particularly like the smell but that could be that I don’t like all the conflicting face wash, body wash, moisturiser smells so I’d prefer not to add scent to my face. My skin definitely felt moisturised after using and it didn’t feel too heavy around my eyes. I’ve asked my 12yo if she thinks my skin is glowing more (and we all know how savage 12 yo girls can be) and she thought it did so - win!

Reviews
Tips: 2 pumps covers whole face.
I loved this serum because every night I use moisturizer, serum and eye cream but now it just two pumps and I am done. This is my second week of using this but so far, my face is looking better, younger... But definitely will keep using it now every night so get the best out of it.
I must admit I was quite wary of trying this product as I have super sensitive skin that reacts to any active ingredients. The first night I tried this, I used a tiny amount, and the following day, my eyelids swelled up, as I expected. However, it only lasted a day, and then my skin calmed down.
On the box, it recommends using every other night in the first week to give your skin an opportunity to adjust to the retinol. Then by the second week, your skin will have adjusted. As my skin is so sensitive, I stuck with using it every other night for the duration of the trial and didn't have any further reactions.
Did I notice any major changes to my skin? No, not really. My skin didn't feel so dry, but I didn't notice any visible reduction in my fine lines or dark circles.
I will keep using up the cream, and I hope to see some more visible changes in my skin over time. As I was only using it every second night it may need some extra time to take effect. However, I am not sure yet if I will buy more when I have run out.
Tips: Always wear sunscreen when using this product even if you are just outside for a short period of time. Otherwise, your skin will feel hot, tingling and uncomfortable.
This was my first time trying retinol and I was super excited as I'd been wanting to try it for ages. As it says it doesn't over dry your skin which was great. The consistency and texture of the serum are really nice and it absorbs into your skin very nicely. As someone who likes to keep a minimal skin care routine I thought it was great that it incorporated a night cream and eye cream into it. After using it every night for the last 2 weeks I can't say that I've noticed too much difference in the appearance of any fine lines on my face. I will happily continue to use this product to the end of the bottle as I like how it feels on my face but I'm not sure that I would buy it again. I can imagine that it could be a great product to start your retinol journey with to get your face used to it before moving on to other products.
I was excited to be picked to review this as I haven’t been doing any skincare lately and wanted to get back into it. The “super soothing” branding also appealed as I do have sensitive skin.
I really enjoyed the packaging of this in the glass bottle. It feels quite sophisticated for the affordable brand of Garnier. The pump works well and I really appreciate not having to stick your fingers into the product. Maybe that is the new world we are in and feeling aware of germs more.
The serum cream is very light feeling and lovely on the skin. I did find it quite tacky on the skin rather than completely sinking in. I liked the instructions on the box of using it initially every other night then nightly once your skin has adjusted due to the retinol in the product. I didn’t find my skin reacted to it at all which is good. I haven’t noticed any good effects of it either to be honest - but I am enjoying using it so I will keep at it.
I really like the way it is marketed as three in one (night cream, serum, and eye cream). Usually I would find that annoying that most products you can do that with. But these days when companies are trying to convince you that you need twenty different things I actually appreciate them being honest that you only need this.
Although I haven’t noticed any major changes in my skin I am enjoying using it. I will update if I see any other changes.
Retinol Berry Super Smoothing Serum Cream ' by Garnier
Ok so I've never tried Retinol before and was glad I read some of the tips on the box. I did experience a little light tingling after application but nothing unpleasant..... the benefits outweighed the tingling. Softer, plumper, glowing skin. I think this is a very nice retinol product for first time users, it seems to be less harsh on the skin than I was expecting having read about it. I did notice a little redness under my eyes the first morning but that soon dissapeared.
The consistency is a lovely thin creamy lotion that's easy to apply. I definitely like it's lightweight feel and found it absorbed quickly and completely leaving soft and smooth skin without any greasy mess. With little to no fragrance this is a plus as I'm quite picky about fragrance in skincare. 2 pumps was pleanty for my face and neck, my skin is definitely benefitting from the product.
Tips: Definitely read the content on the box. If I hadn't I may not have continued the first night. With the tingling sensation being explained as ' normal ' this put me at ease.
I was so excited to use this serum. I am getting more and more fine lines every passing year! The packaging is cute and I love the design of the bottle and I love how easy it is to control how much comes out. It has a nice smell and feels very hydrating when you rub it on. I’m glad there was some good instructions for this first-timer. I used this serum just before bed and I didn’t like how sticky it made my face feel against my pillow. I used it every second day as directed and I feel this was a good introduction to my skin. There wasn’t any over drying - maybe too much hydration for my skin as I woke up with a very oily face. I did notice there was a good improvement with the appearance of fine lines around my eyes and the crows feet significantly less which is exactly what I was hoping for. I have been using this now for two weeks - increasing the frequency of use as directed and sadly I don’t see any more improvements to any other areas. Maybe time to graduate to a stronger product.
I don't think I have ever used a retinol skin product so I was interested in trying this. I read the instructions and made sure to use it bi-daily for the first week. I only used this throughout my night time skin routine which worked great. You don't need much of this product (I used two pumps each time) and the bottom is still super full! The smell is pleasant, the texture is lightly thick which is nice and it absorbs into the skin nicely!
Tips: Follow the instructions and use bi-daily to beginning with. Ensure that you use SPF during the day when using this product :)
Absolutely love the cute, good quality bottle of this face cream, very glad it comes with such a good pump, doesn’t feel cheap and tacky at all! I use a few pumps to cover my whole face, neck and eye area every 2-3 days. Sadly I couldn’t work up my way to everyday use, my skin gets a little sensitive to touch on my cheeks when using this cream, like it’s thinner than normal, not sure how to explain it, but it helps when I leave a day or 2 break between uses. It doesn’t have a scent, which is good for more sensitive skin types too. I have very nice and smooth skin now after starting to use this a few nights a week, but I haven’t seen a big difference in fine lines just yet. I think it’s a great, more affordable retinol cream from garnier, to see if retinol would work for a particular skin type or problem, definitely a good start to see if it’d work or not. My bottle will last me ages too since I can’t use this daily, so I’m very glad that no air or germs can contaminate the product because of the great pump bottle design, that is definitely the best I’ve seen from garnier and I think they should use this bottle design more often. Fingers crossed for long term results soon!
I try a lot of skincare products, but this one really stood out for me! I absolutely loved the texture – it was rich and silky, and I loved that it wasn’t runny at all.
I followed the instructions on the packaging and just used the serum moisturiser every second night for the first week – I had absolutely no irritation and my skin felt hydrated after each use. By week two I was using it every night and still no irritation which was awesome.
The instructions suggest 2 – 3 pumps – the first few nights I was using 3 and it did all soak in, however it was a bit excessive and 2 pumps is actually plenty.
It is awesome that this product replaces my normal night moisturiser, eye cream and serum. It really was hydrating enough to not need any other products so by week 2, my night routine was nice and quick and I could put some products away in the drawer! I had no trouble/irritation applying it under my eyes, and it had a nice cooling effect on that area.
I will definitely re-purchase this product. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated without feeling sticky or oily, and it feels like it’s fighting fine lines and the beginning of wrinkles without damaging my skin. Very impressed!
Tips: There are really detailed instructions on the carton of the product rather than any on the bottle – so make sure not to throw out the packaging when you initially open it!
