Hair removal has been the frustration of my life from the time I hit high school. I've tried most things from razors to cream to waxing in its various forms. I am now settled on hot wax with fabric strips for the DIY of choice. Hot wax is less painful than cool wax because it opens the pores to release the hair more easily. I have found veet wax great to use. It's also got a pleasant fragrance. I like the fact that it comes with the fabric strips and the spatula that can test temparture of the wax. This wax is cost effective and it makes it possible for those who can't afford to go to the beauty therapist, to have smooth hairless skin for longer.

Tips: It may sound weird but before ripping the strip of wax off, slap your skin. It makes the ripping part hurt less. Always pull away from the hair direction, and always press a hand down on the area straight afterward. This also helps reduce pain. To clean strips and reuse. Use a small bucket of hot water to soak for ten min.
Okay, well this wasn't a very pleasant experience. Let's just say I won't do this again by myself.
The first few strips, that I used and applied on the wax worked okay, but then as I did more and more it got more and more messy. It was sticky everywhere and water doesn't really help to remove it. I have to use coconut oil to remove it, which helped slightly.
I definetly wouldn't do this again at home, i would rather spend a bit more money and get it done professionally
I used this a few times to save money on eyebrow waxing and it worked so-so. It was quite messy and being a novice, it didn't pick up the hairs all of the time. What turned this product into a nightmare was when I took it out of the microwave and dropped it (it was crazy hot) scalding my finger! Cut to an hour later with second degree burns. While some of this is obviously my fault, I just don't think I could trust a product like this again especially when it didn't work amazingly from the start. Pass.
Tips: Put something down as it is very messy and be super careful handling after heating. Use the heat tester to ensure safety PLEASE!
I bought this when I first started waxing my legs and under arms and wanted a cheaper option than going to the salon. It's a long, messy process but the wax does work.
I find I have to heat it up for longer than stated, but the indicator on the spatula is a pretty good indicator of when the wax is ready. To have a good result, you have to spread it on quite thinly and evenly, which is not easy! It does remove the hair quite well when applied properly.
The reusable strips are great and cost effective, but I do find that the hairs get stuck in the fibre and don't come out so the strips are never as clean as new.
The smell is quite weird, but not many waxes smell good! This is a much cheaper alternative to going to the salon, I find using this on my legs too much of a mission but still use it under my arms.
Tips: Use baby powder to make sure your legs are extra dry - this also helps show where you have waxed. Make sure to spread evenly and thinly.
Wanting to wax my legs for a cheaper price than going to a salon, I bought this. I heated to the right temp, checked it with the application wand thing and got to work. I applied the wax and then the strips, pulled aaaaand basically nothing! Most of the hairs I was aiming to get rid of were still there. I was super disappointed, but I tried again. Aaaand again. And again. Still, did not work for me! I applied it exactly as the instructions said (albeit slightly more messily) to no avail. However, the instructions were simple and easy to understand and follow and the wax had a nice smell and good consistency. Don't think I'll use it again, but maybe my leg hairs just didn't like it!
Tips: Make sure you check the temp of the wax before using! Don't want to go burning yourself! :)
I tried the Veet warm/honey wax as I had run out of the wax I normally use. Application is easy and smooth allowing you to apply a very thin layer onto the skin (some waxes unfortunately do not allow this unless the temperature is fairly high). Very light, pleasant fragrance and extremely effective. It is a bonus that if there is the odd dripping it is easily removable. The strips do not 'absorb' the wax as some do. They adhere and are extremely effective. I think this is incredible value for money and easy enough for a novice to use!
Using this product is easy and basically fool proof. The box comes complete with instructions, cotton strips and a wooden applicator that has a heat indicator to let you know if its too hot. It spreads easy enough although sometimes taking long with removal process it can cool (the jar I mean) too fast to do the other leg and then you need to reheat and wait a bit longer as it can be too hot. This is ok though as regrowth time should be twice as long as shaving. Up to 6 weeks. Recommended for legs but can be used in other places. Best to use the other Veet hot wax for more intimate areas. That product is also really good. From memory this should be a green colour? The hard wax is like a light green which you dont need strips for .
Tips: Best thing is to have someone else who know what they're doing it for you. And they can apply pressure straight away which helps soothe the pain. Also if you threw out the indicator tab when you used the product earlier and can't find it, the easiest way to know it's too hot is by the consistency. If it is very runny, it is way too hot!
I used to always shave my legs because I'd been scared that waxing would hurt. Last weekend I saw some of this on sale so I grabbed one and thought oh why not. I love how it automatically detects and regulated the temperature. The actual wax it self felt comfortable to apply and did not hurt an awful lot when I ripped it off. I did manage to drip wax everywhere since it was my first time but thank god I prepared a towel. I found that soaking the towel in hot water over night and then hand washing it gets rid of the wax effortlessly. Not sure how long I'll stay hairless but it seemed to pull the hair out from the roots.
I use this to wax face , legs underarms etc. love the wooden applicator that when you put it in the wax, if it is too hot, it lights up with the words 'NO'. So you will never burn yourself. I like that there is no sticky ness after and if there is left over wax, wipe with water and it removes easily. You can also reuse the strips and because the wax is water soluble, they are so easy to clean.
I find this product good as its great to be able to do my bikini line especial in the summer months in my own home. At first its a bit messy but the more you use it the easier it gets. I love that the growth comes back very slowly over for me 4 to 6 weeks. This means no worry for swimming over that time. The instructions are easy to follow and the cotton swabs are reusable so can be used again and again.
