I must admit I do use mine as a base coat too. Few times though I have used it as a proper treatment without painting my nails, just using this for a few days to give my nails a break. After using it properly I do find my nails a lot stronger, and appear healthier. The price is steep for what it is, but when used properly it is effective.

I love OPI but Nail Envy didn't quite work for me. It was no different to putting on a base coat of something and eventually I gave up and started to use every other day, so waste of time really.
Tips: Use as directed :-)
After all the hype this product had I was really let down. I'm glad I didn't pay the full price! It didn't make a visible difference to my nails at all. I just use it as a basic base coat now so it's not a complete waste.
I tried this product after some damage to my nails from acrylics, i really didnt notice a difference at all, it didnt stop my peeling or breaking,
Its quite thick especially once you apply more coats, but hey it makes a good ridge filler, so you can then use a normal lacquer to cover up horrible looking nails
I already have quite strong nails however I found this prevented splitting as my nails always split down the side. It also did make my nails a bit harder
Tips: Good to use as a base coat especially on toenail (I have weak toenails)
My nails don't generally break too easily, but they are fairly weak if I don't have polish on them. This keeps them strong and looking healthy
I was hugely disappointed with OPI with the Nail Envy as it really hasn't improved the condition of my nails at all. Which is very weird as I LOVE all OPI colours and names but this isn't really worth it. I think I will stick to my vitamin E oil for keeping my nails in tip top condition. The plus as always when it comes to OPI is that the mixture isn't sticky, the brush is perfect shape and width to paint the treatment onto your nail in 1-2 swipes.
Tried this a couple years ago when my nails started peeling but I really didn't see a difference at all. If I wore polish I still used a base coat but felt it was too thick and the polish would peel off which I wasn't very impressed with. I didn't end up using the whole bottle as it started become really thick and gloppy. I am a huge fan of OPI polish and will just to that
As far as treatments go, this did very little for my damaged nails. I have nails that peel very easily, so I was hoping this would strengthen them so I could grow them out a bit. On recommendation from a staff member at the pharmacy, I bought a mini bottle to try out. I followed all instructions perfectly and there was no noticeable difference. OPI's mini bottles are so small it only lasted two full two-week applications so there is a possibility a more extended treatment would have worked better. It was good to use as a basecoat though, smoothed my nails out and held up well.
Tips: Don't waste money on the mini bottle!
A friend suggested i try the purple nail envy product for my constantly breaking nails last year. This product is hands down the best i have ever used for this particular issue and only one usage once a week has enabled me to grow nails i have never had before! Love this product and will definitely replace it when it runs out.
Tips: A little goes a long way! Also this can be used as a top coat for even more strengthening power.
