And here I was thinking that I couldn’t get a better weightless B.B. cream than the one I have now! Until this little beauty turned up in the mail. It’s amazing how it blends in with your skin colour and hides most of your imperfections after just one application. No one at work knew I had anything on - I’m in absolute love. Everything from the package to the clean off is 100% amazing! I didn’t even need to use anything to apply it, just the tools God gave me, my fingers!! It didn’t feel oily and didn’t leave my fingers feeling sticky, oily and gross. It comes out like a cream and yet looks like a light coating of foundation once you rub it in. I don’t wear much make up so this is perfect For me. I’m in absolute awe of this product and will be sad when it runs out! I hope Garnier never discontinued this product!

So the packaging was similar to other Garnier products I have used. I really liked the size of the tube and thought how great it would be to pop into my handbag. Upon squeezing out the first sample..it smelled great! Was a little odd that it was white bit when I rubbed it between my fingers I could see the colour developing. Now my face...it felt a little more greasy than I expected and didn’t really give me any coverage all my redness and blemishes were still clearly visible. The instructions said to try another coat for more coverage so I did and while the coverage was a little better, my face now felt very heavy. The moisturiser worked well and my skin was well hydrated all day if not a little too much. Conclusion In all I like the idea of the product but I didn’t feel it delivered what I wanted from it. I don’t think i’ll be purchasing it in the future as I think therebare better options on the market already.
Tips: Definitely use twice for any kind of coverage.
I love BB creams. I use them pretty much every day because of the light consistency. I was excited to be picked for this trial but unfortunately I feel a bit underwhelmed with the product.
I have very pale skin and when I put this product on my face it immediately went bright orange. I had to blend and blend, essentially blending it to nothing to try to get rid of the orange colour but the colour still managed to get into my hair line and eyebrows. I also found that this product grabbed a bit to my dry skin patches which is strange for a BB cream.
The product does feel light on the skin and does give the skin a bit of a glow which is nice. The smell is not offensive and the consistency is good, not too oily.
I would consider this product as having very minimal coverage as I had to blend it to essentially no coverage to get ride of most of the orange tinge.
I'm going to keep trying this product to see if there's a way I can make it work better for me. I'm curious if adding moisturiser of shade adjusting drops would make it better for my skin tone.
I think I would recommend this product to someone not as pale as me and perhaps not with dry patches.
Tips: If you can get your hands on a tester before you buy this product, I would really recommend trying it out and seeing if the colour matching works for you.
I've used BB creams before so I didn't see any need to read any of the information on the box of my Garnier SkinActive BB cream before I tried it. At first I thought they've sent me moisturiser by mistake and then I freaked out when I saw the cream changing from white to skin tone! How cool is that?! It's such s great idea as you can see where you've put the BB cream on your face and it does blend in really well - I love it. Any facial creams that include SPF get a big thumbs up from me as I'm particularly careful when it comes to sun protection. I'm loving everything about this BB cream - it feels great on my skin, not too thick and it looks really natural. I assumed this was going to be another standard BB cream but it's definitely the best I've used so far. I'll be buying this when it comes out on 1st march.
Tips: Read the box so you're prepared for it to change from white to skin tone, and don't think you're losing it :-).
I was looking forward to trying the Garnier self-adjusting all-in-1 BB cream as I had read about it and was interested as I use BB cream already. I must admit though it felt strange applying a white textured cream as a foundation, but within seconds it had cleverly adjusted to match my skin tone resulting in it looking very natural. While it is easy to apply you do have to be quick as it absorbs with speed leaving you with a very natural look and I didn't feel as though I was wearing foundation at all. My skin was glowing but also well covered at the same time which is a nice look especially in summer. I like the fact that it contains SPF15 UV protection as well as apricot oil and vitamin C. The words "nude effect" are quite appropriate. I applied a second coat just to try it out and that looked good too and something that I will do again for night wear, and it still felt and looked natural and flexible and I was thrilled with the result.
Tips: After applying press both hands on to the face for a couple of seconds as this sets it making it last well.
I have to say I was a little skeptical about the claims of matching most skin tones. I have enormous trouble matching generic foundation or BB cream with my tan olive skin tone with greenish hue undertone. Normally I have to buy several shades and blend them together to achieve what I need. The downsides to this method is heavy caked make up, and sometimes I luck out and look like an Oompa Loompa, or Casper the ghost. This BB cream is lightweight and pigment coverage is sheer enough to compliment and work with my skin tone and the appearance is enough to substitute in place of foundation (or in my case blend of several foundations). The only thing I would mention is that it has been unusually muggy these past few days since I have been trialling this cream my face has been ultra shiny, sweaty and gross. So, I am not sure what the ultimate finish would be like under normal weather conditions but based on my experience I would think this product would be a good all round performer.
I liked the clean light packaging, but being white it would get grubby quite quickly tossed in a make up bag. That might not mean much to most people, but I am a visual person and like pretty things so I would probably be endlessly cleaning the tube to keep it looking smart.
As far as BB creams go. It's on par with most. The colour matching magic is great. But in my experience with other BB creams the available tones are usually limited to one, or two and they perform similarly well.
This cream is more suited for enhancing a natural clean, even and clear skin look. I would recommend it and I can't wait to try it out on a less humid day to see how it wears.
So my expectations of this universal BB cream were that it'd be kind of like a blur cream/softening primer.
The tube is classic Garnier BB style, a nice tight lid, easy to dispense product. It's functional and looks nice, what more can you ask.
The product is white when it comes out of the tube - this cemented my expectation that it was going to be a primer type cream. I was wrong.
As soon as you begin to work the product into your skin, be it your face or the back of your hand, it begins to change shade. As you continue to rub and blend it disappears into your skin, leaving you with that 'you, but better' look. Very noice!
You do need to blend well, I recommend using a beauty blender or your fingers, a brush doesn't really work. And don't forget to blend down your neck and maybe even any decolletage on show.
I found the BB cream really moisturising, which means if you're heading out overnight somewhere, you could get away with just using this in the morning, rather than packing your whole skin care regime!
The effects of this BB cream are a luminous finish that makes your skin look natural, but the most awesome natural it could be. Its not going to hide big imperfections or blemishes, but it will soften them.
Price wise I don't think you can moan, especially as it will last ages.
Tips: Blend, blend, blend.
Start with the less is more approach and add more product if you need to.
Although I've heard great things about BB creams I have personally never tried them so I was really excited to try this product.
The cream comes out white but once applied to your face you can see it magically change colour to suit the shade of your skin. The cream glides on well and although it has a soft fragrance it was quite gentle on my sensitive skin. Although I love full-coverage foundation, this is a great product to wear when racing to the shops, wearing it around the house and during hot summer days when your skin needs to breath.
I was interested to try this new bb cream and compare it to the normal garnier bb cream. This bb cream is different as the original colour of the cream is white but it adjusts and changes colour when you apply it on your skin. You can see the tiny beads of the micro pigments in the cream. Once I applied this to my face it began to darken and although the shade is slightly on the orange side a bit too dark than what my normal shade is its still passable. It just looks like my face has a nice tan. Just a warning too that it does take a while for the bb cream to oxidise, so be aware that it will still keep darkening.
The texture of this bb cream is smooth and light, similar to a moisturiser. This makes it easy to apply and blend on your skin. I've applied this using fingers and a brush (stipple) and find it just as easy to blend using fingers. This bb cream is hydrating as it says. However if you have dry skin I would still apply your normal moisturiser underneath.
The coverage is sheer to light which is what you would expect from a bb cream. It doesn't provide much coverage and you can still see my acne scars underneath. It feels quite light in your skin, like our only wearing moisturiser. It does smooth out my skin tone a bit and gives it more of a fresh look.
I find that this doesn't last long on my face. I do have combination oily skin which might be why it slips off quickly. Even if I set it with powder it will only last half a day at the most.
I love the smell of this bb cream. It has an almost fruity smell which must come from the apricot oil. I also love that this bb cream has SPF.
Overall I have enjoyed using this bb cream. It gives a light overage while also hydrating your skin.
Garnier BB Nude Effect was nice - just more of a 'moisturiser' than other BB creams I've used.
Packaging was easy to read and simple. The size was good and flip top lid easy to use and wouldn't get lost in the makeup bag.
The BB Nude Effect smell is great and my skin felt hydrated and happy (a bit humid at the moment but still didn't feel too heavy). It blended in pretty well and my skin did have the 'natural glowing skin' look as promised.
LOVE that it offered sun protection too - so important and one less product to pop on when I was heading out and about.
I would used this product again but more as a moisturiser/product to use when going outdoors - I prefer a bit more coverage for everyday.
Also maybe two or three shades would be better eg light/medium and medium/dark.
Tips: Perfect for applying as a moisturiser before heading to the beach or for a workout
