Tips: Not really worth it
I had heard SO many mixed reviews on this product, there is some real hype over this one! To be really honest I didn't expect this to live up to my expectations! So I bought a deluxe sample size to try when i was purchasing some other items.
Well I love this mascara! I'm kicking myself for only ordering a deluxe sample size, I will definitely being getting another when I run out.
I love the frosted pink packaging, it's super cute and still sophisticated.
I LOVE the big hourglass brush, I find it applies the product really well and has good coverage. The formula glides on really easily and I find it great for building up. I have had no crumbling or fallout. I have also had no smudging!
There do seem to be mixed reviews on this one, but for me it ticks all the boxes! I love the packaging, the formula is easy to apply, it builds up my 'barely there' lashes easily and is really pigmented black!
My only wish is that it lasted a little longer.. the trade off here though is that it is a beautiful light formula.
I have a sample sized tube of this mascara, i bought it with a bronzer mini off trademe. I've heard so many differing opinions about it. Some people love it and others hate it. I love too faced in general though so it was something I really wanted to try. To claim something is better than sex is a rather extreme statement. Maybe it depends on what type of Sex? I don't know but I best not go off on a Tangent!
This mascara comes in a pretty metallic pink tube. I'm pretty much always sold on pink items so that is definitely a plus for me.
The mascara wand is enormous and hour glass shaped. There's pluses to it being so big, in that it will be build volume faster but cons are not getting the teeny lashes and I always make a mess on my eyelid. Anyway, the formula is on the drier side which I prefer and it's a very black formula.
The first time I used this, I fell in love. With hardly any effort, I had really long and full lashes. I have stumpy lashes so it usually takes forever to build up half decent ones. The big downside for me though is wear time. This flaked so badly on me after only a few hours and also transferred on my upper eye area too. I've used this heaps since then but the same thing has happened every time.
I think this would be good if you only needed amazing lashes for a few hours. I honestly love the effect so it breaks my heart that it doesn't last. Just as I'm writing this, I'm wondering if there is a waterproof version because that would hopefully be longer lasting! Anyway, I'll use the rest of my tube but I can't see myself buying this again.
After all the hype about this mascara, I just had to try it for myself. I mean the name in itself had me rather intrigued... Unfortunately, for me personally, it didn't live up to it's hype. I actually regret even buying this as it's just going to sit there and dry out. The wand is rather big and bulky and I'm not a fan of wands like that. The formula is super black and really pigmented, I feel like this mascara may have had higher marks from me if the wand wasn't so bulky. With bulky wands I find that 9/10 mascaras will be really thick and clumpy and really hard to work with, and this is exactly what this mascara is like. The amount of excess mascara on the wand is rather ridiculous, and it can be quite time consuming trying to wipe the excess product off onto the rim of the tube. It made my lashes look so clumpy, I had to go in with a lash comb to try and remove the clumps, I didn't get the result that I wanted (but it looked a lot better than what it did before) but I was in a rush to have a breakfast date with my partner so I didn't have a choice but to put up with it. Which was an epic fail! The mascara is super flaky and unfortunately for me, bits of dry mascara flaked and found their way into my eye. And because it's mascara, I couldn't rub my eyes. I was sitting in the car looking like a complete noob trying to somehow gently get these flakes out of my eye. 5 minutes later with uncomfortable blinking and smudged mascara, I was good to go... But my eye irritated me the rest of the day untill I washed it off. I will not be using or buying this mascara again.
As much as I try to avoid hype, the many good things I had heard about this pushed me to buy a duo pack from Macy's when I was in LA a few weeks ago. The duo pack came with a travel and full size and this review is on the travel size.
Aside from the name (which I think is hilarious), the packaging is something I really like. It looks and feels luxe with a rose gold kind of tube. Both the travel and full size feel quite weighty and like they are made from metal as opposed to plastic.
The brush is the real star here - it's totally unique. It is difficult to describe and is probably best Googled, but it looks scary. It is rather spikey which is a bit confronting but it works its way between your lashes to ensure an even coat.
I find that this creates a lot of volume in my lashes as well as length, but it doesn't really hold a curl. Even if I curl my lashes prior to using it, this formula doesn't really hold my lashes up. I wish it would as curled lashes are something I look to achieve in a mascara, as opposed to length or volume. However, if these are things you do want in your mascara then this might be one you'll like.
The formula is super black and pigmented, has no scent and doesn't feel overly wet. It dries fairly quickly but it (sadly), flakes on me :( this is the only downfall of this mascara aside from it not holding a curl. Unfortunately the fact that it flakes means I won't purchase it again. I'm hoping it is just the travel sized one I have that flakes, and not the full sized - as I do really like this mascara! Idomakeup on here suggested I use it for my top lashes only but I have found that even using it just on those it is flaking.
Aside from that, it is easy to remove and it makes my lashes look thicker and longer. Given the flaking issue and the fact that it doesn't hold a curl in my lashes, I won't be paying what the rrp in NZ is.
This mascaras tube is super cute and the brush is amazing but it does not take long for this mascara to fall out on my face :( would absolutely love it because it really does apply the perfect amount of mascara on my lashes and fan them out beautifully!
Tips: Apply clear mascara over this mascara to prevent fall out.
I'm a bit nervous about my review for this product bc so many people are in love with it. For me I don't have that type of relationship with it. I really had high hopes for this mascara but it's let me down sadly. A rose pink pastel mettalic tube with the too faced black calligraphy type branding on the tube. The brush is a big fibre type brush very tubular and almost an hourglass shape I like this kind of brush for me it indicates volume and separation. However looks can be deceiving. The formula is black jet black but also is quite wet therefore application becomes clumpy or transfer occurs during application either to the roots of my top lid or on my bottom undereye area it sux if you're in a rush don't use this. Due to the moisture wet formula it tends to clump on the lashes which sux. It can give full lashes though and make them look full only when you wipe off excess mascara on the wand/brush. The brush picks up at the roots & dispenses mascara over the lash nicely once you have the correct amount on the brush, which means wiping a lot of product off
Tips: Wipe brush end back onto end of tube a little is better I find having product on the brush just causes clumps and transfer so go in almost with no product on the brush
I picked this up in Australia after seeing so many youtubers loving it and I have to say I am impressed.
It makes my lashes look amazing, nice and full and long and black. The formula is quite dry and I can see why many people may find it clumps and flakes easily however I have not had this problem yet. I love the big bristle brush.
My only issue with this mascara is that it transfers off so easily, I always come home with a little bit of smudging under the out corner of my eye, but that is an easy fix and my only issue with the mascara.
Too faced better than Sex Mascara. This product has a lot of hype around it and I had heard so much about this product, both good and bad. However the majority of things I had heard about it were good and so I had to buy it because what sort of beauty addict would I be if I didn't.
It comes in a beautiful pink tube, which almost has a frosted pink metallic finish. The tube is cool to touch, and is quite heavy as well so it feels expensive which is nice because this mascara is not cheap costing around $20 USD dollars.
The mascara brush is really large, and is actually a bristle brush which I love because these are getting harder and harder to find (or maybe it is just me). The mascara brush is quite bulky which makes it awkward to get close to your eye, but still I had high hopes for this product.
The formula seemed nice at first; it is jet black which is perfect because that’s the only colour I wear. However, the formula is really wet, and I mean really wet which can work really well with some products, but it does not work well with this one.
Seriously, doing one coat of this mascara leaves my lashes clumpy and looking terrible. It does add length, and a bit of volume but the clumps are something I cannot look past. Seriously, I was so disappointed with this product, and put this review off for the longest time just in case I managed to love it. I have to say that now the formula has gotten a bit drier, I do like the mascara a little more, but certainly not enough to pay big dollars for it.
This mascara was my first (and currently, only) 'high end' mascara purchase, although it's very well priced compared to other brands. I've been using this for a year now, and have been putting off reviewing it because I just have so much to say! The packaging is a gorgeous pearl pink with embossed lettering, and the tube itself is large, thick, and feels metallic - which means it always feels unusually cold! The big thing I noticed with this mascara, compared to drugstore products I'd used, is that the formula is very thick and very black. Like, I was a little bit scared of it at first. The hourglass wand doesn't really suggest an intuitive way of applying it, but I've found there are many different looks you can achieve with this just by altering your application. A light touch is a must; if you really comb this through then you'll just get crazy black clumps instead of lashes. You can get very long, fluffy lashes just by gently feathering it through the ends (I usually apply a few coats, letting it almost dry between applications). Or, if you're wanting something heavier, you can sweep this through from base to tip a couple of times and then go through with the end of the want and pull out the corner lashes a bit. This gives you a really intense doll-eyed look which I love. Don't freak out if it gets all over your eyelids over (which will happen, this wand is very smudgey!) - if you wait a minute for it to dry it'll wipe off no sweat with a dry cotton bud, and won't ruin any eyeshadow etc. you had on either! This absolutely lasts all day until you take it off, it can transfer a little to your eyelids while it's still drying so look out for that. It's not waterproof, so is easy to take off with a decent make up remover. I don't often use this product for day wear just because it's so dramatic that it doesn't always look natural, but it's miles ahead of any other mascara I've tried for killer bombshell lashes on a night out.
Tips: Practice makes perfect! This product took me a while to learn to use without looking like a panda, so allow some time to fix any mistakes if you're planning on debuting it for a social event :)
