I'm so impressed with this. I got the dark brown, which is a true deep brown and perfect for me. That in itself is great, as the eyebrow pencils and powders I've tried in the past have all had a reddy tinge, which just looks terrible with my black-brown hair. The formula itself is surprisingly liquid and very pigmented, so a VERY light hand is required, otherwise you end up with dark globs and an uneven finish. (That said, it's really easy to whip off again with a moist cloth if you make a mistake.) If applied lightly though, the firm brush combs easily through the hairs, depositing the gel uniformly, and it's short and angled for easy manoeuvring. A single brush-through gives all my brow hairs a coating, making each one look thicker, and it deepens the colour too, which adds to the look of overall fullness. A second sweep gives me a more dramatic look. I love the buildability of it. And it seems to dry almost instantly, basically setting the brows so you can rub your fingers over them without removing any of the product.
I have quite sparse brows at the outside edges, and this fills and blends so that my whole brow looks more uniform. If you had no hairs at all to build on though, you'd obviously need to pair this gel with a pencil or tattoo pen or whatever.
I want thicker brows, but I do like them to look naturally thick rather than obviously painted on, so for me this formula is wonderful. And now that I've mastered the application, it takes me literally seconds to quickly brush through my brows and be set for the day. Oh yeah, and it lasts all day, not budging from sweat or humidity or anything, until I decide to wash it off - with just my normal face cleanser. No special makeup remover required.
Tips: Wipe the brush off in the tube to remove excess product before you apply it, and then very lightly brush it through your brows, taking care to not press too hard; you just want to coat the hairs, not deposit the gel onto your skin. Build up as necessary.
I use this along with an eyebrow pencil, and this is great to shape and set my eyebrows. Seems to help my eyebrow pencil last longer.
Fantastic product, I’ve been using this for years and repeat purchase it. I get the dark brown, and I find it adds the extra oomph to my brows, keeps them tidy and looking polished. Great for everyday wear.
Tips: Go over brows a couple times until your happy with coverage.
I have had my medium/dark gel for a few months. It very quick to use, which is great when I have slept in and rushing to get to work. Just need to be very careful about clumps on the wand. Quite often there is a chunk and then it smudges on the brow and is wayyyy darker than the rest. I don't use it unless I am in a hurry or I have run out of other brow products. The wand aside from clumping is a good size, and easy to use. Next time I would consider the transparent one, but I wouldn't buy the medium/dark again.
Tips: Check for clumps!
I purchased this brow gel in clear a while ago, and while it does the job just fine, it is nothing special especially considering the price.
The packaging is nice, a long tube with a small applicator which is perfect for grabbing small brow hairs and getting them where you want them. Sometimes the product clumps up on the brush though, so you have to be careful to wipe any excess on the edge of the tube.
I had no issues using this over other eyebrow products (pencil and powder). My eyebrows stay in place well for a few hours without ending up crispy like some eyebrow gels, with no flakes also.
Maybe the tinted versions of this gel would be more worth the price, but I would personally not repurchase as I found this no better than other clear eyebrow gels which were less expensive. Still, it does a decent job as a clear eyebrow gel.
This is a good affordable eye brow gel for everyday use. It's a good colour, but I do find the brush is quite big for me which can make it hard to contain the product on eyebrows. It can also get quite crunchy feeling on the eyebrows and a lot of product can be on the brush which can leave big streaks so pays to wipe a little off.
For me, this product is good but not as good as Gimme Brow. It really does thicken and tint your brows and gives a natural look that is very pleasing for the price of the product. I have two slight issues with the Brow Artist Plumper. My first is that the brush is a little bit too big so it is difficult to confine the brow mascara to just your eyebrow hair. I do have particularly thin eyebrows so this may not be an issue for someone with fuller brows but did affect my use of the product. The other issue is that the mascara does tend to clump on the brush. This leaves darker streaks in your eyebrows after application as it does not all go on evenly. With a lot of care this can be avoided but it is quite inconvenient and adds a fair bit of time to your makeup routine. Overall though, this is a great product for its price and definitely delivers the results it says it will!
Tips: Take a look at the brush and wipe off any excess brow mascara clumps to ensure a smoother application.
I was really excited to try this product since I'd heard it was a dupe for Gimme Brow.
I have the transparent one, which in all honestly is like just sticking some gel on your brows.
I also have one of the tinted ones, which I prefer because it adds the colour and definition to your brows, while also setting them in shape.
I like the brush it comes with, it's easy to use and it applies cleanly (the formula doesn't clog up). To look at, it's like a half sized mascara brush.
Overall, it does what it claims to, but unless you have dark brows that you don't want to add colour to, I'd recommend the tinted brow plumper.
I suffer from thin brows from many years of over plucking, because I thought it was the thing to do! Well, everyone else was doing it too. And.now I have to deal with my brows fading, or maybe they are going Grey. So, with all that said I absolutely need a good brow product every day. I found this one to be ok, not fantastic but it did the job. I found it not as easy to use as other brow products,it was not as defining as a pencil or fine brush, but it still made my eyebrows acceptable.
