Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal Review

I brought this mascara as it seemed to be one of the best for length and volume in an affordable price bracket.

In terms of packaging it was in a bright yellow plastic mascara tube that was the typical fat Maybelline tube.

I also picked this one because the brush was a bit more normal. The bristles were thick but typical in shape and material. And the wand was also normally shaped (straight).

In terms of applying the mascara. On one application I could get 1.5x lashes and after several coats 2x lashes. But not 9x. Not that I expected to, but it does annoy me that you never get lashes like they do in the adverts.

The colour of the mascara was a strong black and in terms of volume, also about 1.5x volume. It did also clump very slightly, but not significantly.

The mascara lasted all day and didn't smudge which was fantastic and although not the waterproof version (as that only gave the potential of x7 length) it was still a bit resistant to being totally removed by water or make up remover.

It is a better mascara than ones that don't promise to lengthen your lashes, but I think they over state their claims slightly.

I've been using this for a while now and love it, only need 1 coat, it doesn't clump, makes eyelashes thick and long and comes off easily. When I've put 2 coats on I've been asked a few times if im wearing fake lashes!

I purchased this on sale at Countdown for around $15. Well worth the money. Just like the bottle says you only need one coat and it makes your lashes thicker and longer. It doesn't clump. I didn't get the waterproof version and don't have any trouble removing at all with eye make up remover, it also doesn't run when you cry. I think this will be my new go to mascara

I like this mascara, but it doesn't give me as much volume as other brands of mascara. Although, it does a good job and is good for a daily mascara and is appropriate for every day high school makeup. It also tends to be quite difficult to remove.

I use this on the daily. The formula for this mascara is very good it coats my lashes and gives them volume. I wouldn't say 9x the volume instantly as I have to apply at least twice the coats of mascara to get nice volume. I find for this Maybelline mascara has a good brush easy to use. A good daily mascara not my favourite one though.

this is such a good mascara, ive been using it for about 7 months and its so good! easy to apply and give my eyelashes a really long thick look. However when i remove it i find it so hard, it doesn't come off easy and sometimes i find my eyelashes fall out while trying to rub it off.

I love how easy this product was to get on, it sat beautifully and didn't clump! Yet I HATED getting it off, I thought it was a night mare! I had to soak my lashes in oil to remove all the product and if I didnt have any on hand, it seems that I would have had to tear my poor lashes out! With this being said it makes me wonder how breathable the solution is, if it stunts the growth of the lashes? I want to buy this again, but I'm too worried! :(

I love this mascara and I am a huge Maybelline girl, I have been wearing Maybelline Mascara for over ten years now! It has a great consistency and never leaves clumps. I found it easy to apply and last for a long period of time. It is really black which I love, I have found some Mascara to be brown pigmented however Maybelline colour is fantastic. I normally apply approx. 3 quotes to produce even longer lashes. I have found All Maybelline Mascara to last a long time (2months) but this one is definitely my favourite. You can find this Mascara just about anywhere and at a reasonable price. I would even be willing to pay more for this product. Great Packaging 

My favorite mascara at the moment, i also have the smoky eyed one, the brush is nice and big, hardly any clumping with the amount of coats i put on (like 8) gives great volume, big eyelashes and really thick looking with multiple coats. I love that the brush is stiff so there's no bend, its also small so that i can really get in near the root of my lashes and not be worrying about poking myself with a long brush.

I tend to use this mascara alone with lots of coats, sometimes i use it with a second mascara ( if i've used a lengthening mascara first) to add volume. It really does pump up the volume for me, i have long eyelashes but they aren't thick and using this mascara i get thick lashes with the right amount of length and it doesnt clump!

First buying this product I was quite hesitant because I literally had no idea on how to use it, but this is seriously worth $30.00!! I apply at least 3-4 coats of it just so it opens my eyes more and I feel it lasts ages. Minimal clumping happens even with the amount I apply and the texture is really nice, when using different eye make up removers I found it so easily comes off! Love this mascara!
