I've been putting off this review for a while trying to change my opinion on this lip balm. But alas, the truth cannot be changed. This felt weird and not balmy enough on my lips. It was moire oil than wax, leaving a shiny layer on my lips. This is like the polar opposite to how EOS lip balms feel in terms of texture. It rubbed off too easily and I had to reapply really often. The color of the balm is actually alright, a sheer red that looks very cute and natural. The smell is the kind of fake paracetamol strawberry that I just didn't like. Would not buy again sadly. This is the only nivea lipbalm that's turned out so useless which is somewhat disappointing.

This is one of my favourite lip balms! it does the job and does it well.
I was taking medication that was drying up my skin and lips and this lip balm was a lifesaver, i always had it in my bag and pocket to apply when i need it.
However, i didn't think the colour would be so strong on my lips so it started looking like i have lipstick on. so again it was doing what it's supposed to. So i guess this product is a great combo of hydrating and applying lipstick! great combo deal. but if you are wanting the natural lip colour i wouldn't go for this balm
I used to always carry these around with me. They smelled of (synthetic) strawberries and gave the lips a red tint. And of course coming in a wind up tube meant they were far more convenient to take out and about than a tub you had to stick your fingers into.
Of course, being a lip balm, the colour doesn't last more than an hour or two.And I'd find myself often reapplying them to keep my lips hydrated.
While these were convenient. I have now replaced them with a less synthetic smelling lip balm, which also has a slightly more natural tint to it. But these are a great affordable product and I would consider using them again when I need a replacement lip balm, especially since they're so assessible across the country.
Tips: Use a mirror to apply if you aren't certain you'll get it perfectly on your lips.

Like the reviewer below me, I too started using the Strawberry Nivea Lip Balm as a pre-teen and loved it, but the formula has drastically changed since then, and I no longer love it like I used too. The packaging is very basic and simplistic, and looks quite cheap; it reminds me of a store brand lip balm. The lip balm had a sweet strawberry scent when I purchased it but now that it is a few months old the smell has deteriorated and it smells more like Playdough. The lip balm moisturizes and hydrates my lips well. It leaves a subtle hint of colour on my lips with a gold shimmer which looks nice. The lip balm has no taste to it. The lip balm is quite affordable, and I would purchase it again, if I was running low on cash. However, this isn't amazing, and I'd rather purchase a nicer lip balm with my money.
I would say this is a “first” lip balm. The one you buy when you’re just starting to use lip balm. The strawberry smell is very strong, sweet and fake. It’s hydrating alto begin with and then it leaves your lips drier than before you used it.
The thing I like most about this is the smell. I like that it leaves a red tint but find that it has little shimmery bits in it which I don't like. In terms of moistourising my lips it does a good job but I have other nivea lip balms that I prefer ( I love the honey and milk one and babylios do good tinted lip balms). Overall I will finish the tube but not repurchase.
I loved the fact that this product smelled of Strawberries. It also left a little tint of red on my lips. This was fine when my lips werent too damaged, but when my lips were really badly chapped, the colour was uneven and seemed orange-y? It helped to moisturize my lips as long as I reapplied it a lot, as my lips were VERY dry. I would recommend this product, wish it tasted of strawberry too though!
Gifted this from my sister. Standard bullet type packaging. Strawberry scented. Doesn't taste as nice I thought it would. Very slight pearly/tint on application. It does the job, it's not a fav but is decent. I prefer other brands so will not be purchasing this once it is finished.
Didn't feel like it really did much for my dry lips and didn't like the colour it left. Pretty average product. Will stick to blistex. Will not repurchase again.
Niveas easily accessible in most new zealand stores. During the summer period I picked one of these up at Countdown. Sometimes they have lip products at check out. I popped one of these into my trolley. Needed a quick pick me up for my dry dehydrated lips.
This balm comes in a 4.8 gram bottle. Its sized perfectly to fit into your pocket or handbag. This casing is a bright red with the nivea labelling on it. Its easy to wind up and wind down. Its texture is like a balm. Perfectly scented with Strawberry flavour. Has a slight redish pink tint colouring to this balm. It does have a slight shimer shine in this.
I find this balm simple to apply to my lips. I find it did temporarily hydrate my lips. I did need to keep applying especially with eating and drinking. It does come off easily.
These lip balms are affordable to buy. I would like to see some spf added into these lip balms for added protection. Like most balms I expect to keep applying them. These would make great stocking fillers for young girls. I would definately purchase these again as a gift.
