TonyMoly Appletox honey cream Review

This was one of the first Korean skincare items I had ever tried, on recommendation from forums, and conversations with some BR babes. Honestly, I didn’t really have high hopes for Korean skincare, mostly because I was unaware of it until the time I joined BR and really hadn’t heard much about the range and variety of product that were available in Korean skincare. However I took the plunge anyway and did an order of beautynetkorea, and the Tony Moly Appletox cream was an item that was in my first cart.

The cream is packaged possibly in the most creative packaging I’ve ever seen (which no surprisingly is an aspect of their products that tony moly is famous for). It comes in a beautiful re plastic apple that unscrews in half to reveal the bottom half of the item is the par that holds the product. It also comes with a wee seal, and a small spatula to avoid the unhygienic option of using your fingers to scoop the product out. Clever thinking Tony Moly.

This honey cream isn’t what you imagined, firstly because its not cream so much as a coloured gel, perhaps mixed with a touch of cream. It has a beautiful almost water based consistency, and feels slightly sticky when taking it out of the container, but glides over skin like it is a gel. Perhaps the most appealing part about this product is the smell! It smells like fresh apples, and not that crappy artificial smell that most product have when they sale apple fragrance, but a real apple delicious, fresh, crunchy smell of apples! Anyway this cream is ah-mazing. It’s the colour of honey mixed with an apple mousse and You only need a little bit and it glides over your skin so effortlessly, absorbing quickly and leaving no weird and yucky feeling residue behind. What’s more is if I use this as a night cream, I wake up and my skin has a beautiful radiant glow to it. Seriously my skin never looks as good as it does when I using this product. Plus this is my go to product in winter when I have drier skin, and it works like a charm as my night cream, hydrating my skin and reducing the appearance of those pesky dry patches.

Overall, what isn’t to love about this product? It has gorgeous packaging, the product feels and smells lovely, and it works wonders on my skin. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend this to my friends is if they hated apples, otherwise il be singing this products praises from the rooftops.

I was lovingly given a few samples of this from another BR member (you know who you are) xx And I fell in love with it and went and bought some more.

Now I used the sachets and when I bought more I bought more sachets for convenience so I can't really comment on the actual container it comes in, although I have seen this and it really does look beautiful and looks good enough to eat just like an apple would lol.

The consistency of this formula is not something I have become accustomed to, its kind of like half cream half gel. The formula actually reminds me of the cleansing gel from Nimue. It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy either which is good and soaks into your skin leaving it feeling fresh and clean.

It really cleared up my dry skin as at the time I had extremely dry skin and very problematic skin at that. This really did soothe the irritation.

It really does smell like mushed up apples, but its not overpowering though, I really was tempted to eat it.

The price was great too when I re-purchased and I really like the ease of the sachets as you can take them away with you. Next time though I think I may buy the pot and put them into little containers as the sachets can get a little bit fiddly especially if your hands are greasy or anything like that.

I was super lucky to receive this as a gift, I'd been planning on purchasing after trying samples so was very lucky and happy to get given it!

The packaging is very adorable! An apple container with a screw top lid. It has a spatula so you don't have to contaminate with your fingers. I would totally reuse the pot!

It comes with a generous amount and a little goes a long way. It is a pale yellow, gel liquid like formula, quite unique to anything I've tried. For me if absorbs nicely into my skin. And of course, the scent! I love apple scented products!

My skin has been feeling and looking great since using this. I use it at night as a night cream. I feel it has balanced my skin and I haven't had any break outs since using this. For reference I have normal-dry skin.

I would definitely recommend this product!

I love this product. I'm not going to lie, the only reason I was drawn to this product was because of the cute packaging. When I first got it, I didn't think it was that amazing, but it was effective for the cheap price you pay. I would use this twice a week (at night), as suggested by the website. However, once I started using the product more (like 3 to 4 times a week) I started noticing a real difference. It is actually really moisterizing. After you wash it off the next morning, my skin is so smooth and hydrated. I wouldn't recommend this if you have oily skin. I have combination skin and on days when I'm oily, I've noticed it has made my skin a bit more oilier. However, when my skin is normal - dry i find it works fine. This maybe just for my skin. It is definitely worth a try this product - you cant complain with a cute apple package and a great price. It smells amazing too - a refreshing apple smell that's not too overpowering.

I won this adorable, appley goodness in a competition. First of all the container is adorable: a red apple with green stalk and leaf it’s orange at the top near the stem and then fades out at the top into a bright red. You screw it off in half and there’s a white lid over the product to keep it fresh. The product smells amazing, like apples. Fresh apples! The consistency of the product is thick and sort of buttery and pretty close to the colour of butter. But you massage it on your face and it absorbs and your skin feels soft and smooth. I asked my guy to sniff my face and when I applied it before bed he sniffed it and then almost licked my cheeks as he thought it smelt yummy. He thought it smelt a bit like strawberries. He usually doesn’t comment on my skincare and products so that’s quite a reaction for him he also thought the apple was really cute. I have normal/oily combination skin and this didn’t make me break out so that’s good. So far the only con I can think of it that I can’t find a full list of ingredients in the product but since I haven’t had any bad reactions to it I’m not too worried. I love this product and it makes an adorable gift for someone. I gave one to my youngest sister to try to get her interested in skincare so this was her first facial moisturizer. I’m definitely thinking of purchasing more as gifts for people in the future.

I first came across Tony Moly via memebox, when they shipped here. Initially what drew me to the products was the packaging - TM are known for their super cute and interesting packaging and this is no exception.

Housed in an adorable plastic red Apple, the appletox honey cream has been a godsend for my dry skin. You open this up by unscrewing the top of the apple. There is a safety seal and a small applicator which allows you to scoop the product, which is ideal if you want to keep it hygienic from your fingers.

The honey cream is a hybrid between a gel and a regular cream. It smells exactly like fresh, crushed apples and makes you want to eat it. The scent isn't at all fake or overpowering although it is noticeable. If you don't like the smell of apples then keep away from this.

The cream is a honey yellow and blends into your skin with no fuss. It leaves your dehydrated skin feeling and looking supple, hydrated and fresh. There is no sticky residue and your skin feels absolutely nourished.

I love the cream and I love the packaging. You can reuse the packaging as a cute storage container once you have finished with this.

This is a. Definite must have for my dry skin and then ext time I make a Korean order this is the first thing I will repurchase. It's my favourite TM product and one I don't want to be without.

Let's start with the packaging on this one since it is a face product in an apple! I love it, I own a few other Tony moly products and they do the sweetest packaging. What's also great is that you can re purpose this as a jewelry container, kids toy or whatever you like. Practicality wise, it does up securely but it is a bit of an awkward shape to stack with other products if you are like me and tend to hoard beauty things.

anyway, looks aside. When you open this delightful apple, you are presented with a delicious smelling yellow gel. It smells like a sweet, fresh apple. I really enjoy the smell of this product. Now, if you are used to using a cream, this product is a very different creature. This gel is thin, sticky and stretchy but don't let that put you Off! I have used other Korean skin care products so I'm used to sticky and stretchy but when you apply this, it feels of thin, like it can't possibly be moisturizing enough. It also dries down on the skin like you have put a sick glue on your face. If you use this at night like I do, I strongly suggest giving yourself at least half an hour from applying this till bed time so you don't stick to your pillow.

I use this at night for a few reasons i don't think it has sunscreen and also the stickiness would not be the greatest base for makeup. I have quite dry skin and usually like thicker products to hydrate my face. Because this product i not that at all, for the first week of using it i was kind of dissatisfied. But then i started to notice how soft my face was feeling in the mornings and I'm sure there is a bit of extra glow there too. Now that I'm almost done with this product, I think I'll miss it and will most likely re purchase at some stage.

I have no idea if this would be good for oily skin but it's a thumbs up for my dry skin

I received this Late last week from a lovely friend. Reading up on it I was very excited to see it had honey in it as I have an obsession with honey in skin are,heck I've even applied natural honey to my face as a mask before(great but drips EVERYWHERE!) Anywhoo, I wasted no time in using this. It stung as I had just exfoliated(won't do that again) but it did leave my skin feeling baby butt soft and boy was it hydrating! ThE second time I used it , I didn't exfoliate and didn't suffer the burning sensation I had the first time( thank goodness ). The texture was a little odd being a gel like formula at first and felt a tad tacky on the skin . I prefer to use this at night as I feel it's a bit too hydrating to use under my makeup. it has a gentle apple scent which I love,weird because usually Apple scents put me right off! The packaging is cute and appealing and comes with a screw top lid, it is shaped and coloured like and apple. It comes in a pot with a little spatula for those out there that don't like tainting a product with their fingers. Honestly this is gold in an apple jar and there is absolutely nothing bad I can possibly say about it.

I have to start by saying that I adore TonyMoly products - the quirky cute packaging, the beautiful scent and the quality products. And this product is no exception.

You can purchase these in either the super-cute apple container or they also come in beautiful little round sachets, which are perfect if you want to try before you buy, or if you want a convenient travel pack.

The 'cream' inside is more of a sticky yellowish gel with a gorgeous scent of apple and a hint of honey. It's the type of smell where you want to run around asking people to smell your skin because it's so delicious! It's a very thick, sticky sort of a gel and kind of clings to your skin as you apply it, but as you smooth it over your skin you can feel it sinking in and deeply moisturising your face.

It is a bit stickier than I would normally look for in a moisturiser, but this is a product I like to save for night-time as a special treat for my skin overnight. Not only does my skin feel gorgeous in the morning but I get to fall asleep with the fresh apple scent on my face.
