This is a lovely natural balm. It works well as a lip balm, as a hand cream, and for moisturising dry skin. I used it on dry cuticles, and liked it as a foot cream. It's quite hard and waxy in the jar, but softened quickly with a bit of body heat.
It worked well on healing grazes (I didn't apply it on broken skin) to keep them soft and seemed to help them heal without the skin cracking.
I love a Balm, something for everything, so handy. This one from Wild Ferns really is a step up, packaging is pleasant, nothing remarkable about the product. Its quite a thick product and I use a spatula to get product out (bit of a thing for me is dipping into pots, so have plastic spatulas always handy).
No noticeable fragrance and the packaging is a bit boring, has a screw cap in a plastic pottle, nice but just boring.
I've been using on lumps, scratches, bites & blemishes for the past 4 weeks.......AMAZING! Don't expect magic straightaway, the first application saw slight improvement, reducing anything angry but after second application the next day...sorted! What I'm saying is you need to give it at least 2 applications and 24 hrs for the real magic to work. Really remarkable.
I spotted a few blemishes starting and balm stopped them right in their tracks.
Used on chapped lips and a dream, I also have been applying to my lips every morning to keep hydrated. Especially like to use on lips as I had no drying or got that "shrinking" feeling. Used on nail and cuticle that got injured too, no sting & ideal for any bits and bobs that needs a helping hand in repairing &/or relief.
It must be the 80+ Manuka Pollen. I would happily recommend using all over for any age....ingredients along with the pollen are Clove oil, Calendula, Chamomile, Papaya, Mango and Shea Butters with Grape Seed and Rose-hip...wow, what a impressive ingredient list. The product does not seem overdone, I would kinda think that it would be busy and full on with all those ingredients but its very unoffensive.
For $26 a pretty good buy (also available direct on Wild Ferns website, check out the price there too), the product goes a long way and absorbs really nicely. When warmed up with fingertips dissolves into a soothing oil like cream.
My pottle is stored in a cool dark cupboard and during the super hot and humid summer in Auckland has not melted. Only a very little amount is needed, quite thick but dissolves and absorbs in easy.
Part of me feels that a lush fragrance would be nice but then thats not what this product is designed for, it does its job perfect....I just really like lush smelling products.
I would recommend as a gift, especially for sending overseas....Wild Ferns have a amazing array of products that showcase our natural country. For sure will send a balm to my family in Holland this year and of course for any household.
Recommended to friends and family without a doubt.
Tips: Apply any leftovers on lips, perfect as a lip balm to keep hydrated (or cuticles to keep nails healthy).
