The thing that stood out for me was that it was reasonably quiet compared to previous products I've owned or currently own.
As far as trimmers go, this unit is at the top end as far as the fine detail you can achieve. I have some photos of this however it doesn't say much unless you are using it on your own face i.e. how nice a finish you get and how everything comes out even.
I like how the heads came off reasonably easy. The foil type was a little more fiddly. Once I got my beard (not long) into shape, I actually cleaned up with the small foil unit which was excellent at removing any very fine stubble down to nothing and shaping.
The dial settings worked really well, I would absolutely recommend this to any of you hairy buggers out there as this would do a good job even for those with long beards/facial hair.
I found the bag handy in regards to holding everything although I find the charging station very light and flimsy. An idea for Braun would be to have a very small plastic case in which everything fits neatly and having the charger as part of the case itself. So when the shaver is in the case you can hook up the power straight to the case and charge the shaver while it is in there. One thing I did notice, the instructions show how to clean and maintain the unit, which is easy enough for anyone, however they show a picture of putting a slight smear of oil on the shaver yet they have not supplied any oil for the unit, so if you are going to show a picture of the shaver with oil, you should supply a small vial with it so as to make the unit last longer.
The shaver uses Lithium batteries and I wouldn't expect anything less from a modern day rechargeable unit.
All in all 10/10, well done Braun and cheers Beauty Review
I'd like to start by saying I have visited a barber fortnightly for the past 3 years to trim my beard. I have had nothing but bad experiences with beard trimmers and had long given up on the hope of achieving professional results at home and for this reason I was somewhat apprehensive to give it another go.
My first impression of this product is its presented in a well packaged box, no fuss, it arrived safe & sound. The box has all the facts on the outside and you can clearly see the beard trimmer through the window.
Upon opening the box, the beard trimmer felt sturdy and solid in the hand, it feels high quality and the blade looks nice and sharp, the cutting guards are made from solid plastic and are well contoured to fit the angles of the face and are solid and do not feel like they will break easily if dropped.
This unit has wireless charging and can be used corded or wireless and also is waterproof.
As it is the first time in several years I have trimmed my beard myself, I started by looking at the Braun website and watching some YouTube videos to get the hang of it.
I purposely grew my beard out for this trim & started on the highest setting to then become confident in how to use it, then adjusted the comb until I could trim the hairs. I found it really easy to use (OK got some pointers from the wife) and enjoyed the fact the attachments are easy to fit & the dial up/down to the closeness of the trim making it even easier to handle without having to switch multiple heads. Guys like easy simple things & this is perfect for that.
The blades are very sharp & you get that tight detail in the edges with the guard removed, especially above the lip & when contour trimming the sides for style. The Braun BT7040 does what it says it will, gives an even all over trim & is really easy to use.
This is my first proper novice trim, I always get it done at the barber as it is hard to get right and lets be honest, its on my face - a bad beard trim can affect how one feels about themselves - just like a good one can boost confidence. I can honestly say that any guy who looks after his personal grooming will find this pleasantly surprising at the end result. Wife even said it looks better than the barber! I was quite happy with the end result myself! Cleaning is a breeze, being waterproof I just blast it under the tap.
Overall I am really impressed with this trimmer, no need to get it done by the pro's anymore.
Bonus it comes with a Gillette razor for tidying up the neck.
I would not hesitate to reccomend the Braun BT7040 to anyone looking for professional results at home.

Make sure the comb is clipped in properly on both sides.
Brother's review:
My current trimmer is a cheap brand from a shaving mall shop. It did the job for a while, but the blades dulled quickly and it pulled.
The Braun trimmer comes well boxed. There's a charging plug and stand, and a zipper pouch to keep it in.
The trimmer feels quite ergonomic actually. I like that the 'on-off' button needs a more forceful push to turn on, and it actually sits lower than where I naturally hold my thumb when shaving, so I never accidentally turned if off, mid use.
It charged quickly. The length dial was easy to use.
The only issue for me was the length range - I don't have a busy beard, but 20mm is the longest length and I think the option for longer would have been nicer. The shortest length is .5mm and I would prefer the option for a clean shave. But they threw in the Gilette razor so that was a nice touch.
At $270 this is much pricier than I'd consider paying but for lifetime blades, a long battery life and the option of using it corded or cordless make it worth the money.
The mrs has been asking me to tidy up my beard for a while now - apparently she doesn't find it as glorious as I do. So I was actually a bit sad to receive this to review as it meant I was going to have to trim my beard.
The trimmer feels like its good quality. I've only ever used cheap trimmers which feel plastic-y and somehow break after months of just sitting in a cupboard between uses.
I like the charging stand, if you were using this often it'd sit nicely on your vanity or bathroom counter.
It charges quickly, and holds charge well. The trimmer auto senses the right speed for what it's cutting, and I found it smooth, and non-snagging. There were no painful hair pulls.
You can adjust this to 39 different lengths, which seems excessive, but actually, I quite enjoyed being able to go slow, and decide if I wanted to take off 'just a bit more'.
I got my wife to use this on the back of my neck, and to tidy my hair line. Which escalated to a full haircut. Again, it was smooth and quick.
The blades will apparently last a life time, so although this is potentially a big outlay, it's an investment that'll last.
Tips: Buy cheap, buy 10. Invest in this and you'll be set for a beard trimmer for life.
