I prefer powder foundations over liquid for the convenience of portability. This foundation does a good job with coverage (medium & buildable) and mattifying. I wore this over two different sunscreens and found it to become cakey which is a shame, will have to try with other sunscreen sometime.

Tips: Buildable coverage. Coverage higher when applied with a damp sponge.
Normally I'm not the biggest fan of powder foundations, I find them heavy and cakey but this is an exception, it's so light and buttery. It creates a smooth and flawless but light base that you can't really feel sitting on the skin. It fills and blurs your pores so that it looks like you have a filter on. I'm not someone that wears a lot of makeup, so a light foundation always wears off by the end of the day for me. Even though I kept this coverage pretty light I could still see and feeling the smoothing properties of the foundation at the end of the night. It definitely needs a good cleanser to take if fully off. It comes in a great compact with a sponge and mirror underneath, awesome for travel or touch ups! It definitely took me a bit to find the right technique to get that smooth even coverage but once I did, it was great! I tried both the supplied sponge and a powder brush but the best thing for me ended up being the supplied sponge and bouncing/buffing the product onto the skin rather than swiping it over. I do think that the colouring runs quite light, normally I'm a 120 shade in other L'Oréal liquid foundations. But this time I got the True Beige 130 and it is definitely a winter shade for me, needed to add bronzer to match my skin during this time of year. I would say keep your skin really well prepped and moisturised as I did start to see some dry patches, but I have dry skin. All in all I am pretty impressed with this powder foundation and will continue to use it if going for a matte look.
Tips: Use the sponge to "bounce" the product into your skin for a flawless base.
Ok I am a pretty big user of L'Oreal products, have used heaps in the past and still use other products.
This is the first foundation in a powder I have tried - I was excited to try this as my skin is starting to age and needs full coverage that lasts, so thought this would be great! Unfortunately (don't you love that word?), I did not like this foundation at all :(
The packaging colour I liked, I don't like the plastic, not sure how earth friendly it is? The compact is a good size and has a separate flip with the sponge and a pretty good mirror.
The foundation felt really nice when I ran my finger over it, really soft. I really wasn't sure the best way to apply (I normally use a cake foundation with a brush), so I tried my brush but it was terrible and the powder went everywhere. I then tried using the sponge which I dampened a little first. Not great at all - maybe it was my skin (I have old burn scarring around my chin), but I applied a bit and it didn't really cover that well, so I tried going over it again and it just wiped off the first layer I had put on.
I'm really bummed as I really wanted this to work for me, it's hard to get a good foundation, but I just couldn't get this to work the way I wanted for my skin.
So won't be purchasing this in the future and have given the compact to my sister to try :)
Tips: No tips
I was intrigued to try a powder foundation and found this smoothed on my skin nicely and it hid all the blemishes well without feeling heavy. It’s packaging is basic, this does help to see the colour you are after and has an applicator. Slightly scented, not noticeable once applied. It was long lasting, got me through a work day in a hot coffee shop. Price wise seemed reasonable for a quality product. I would choose a darker shade next time as it was slightly off but this is no fault of the product. L’Oréal doesn’t disappoint and I would recommend you give a foundation in a powder a try.
I am just so amazed that a powder could do such a great job. I still cannot believe, I can do my makeup so quickly with the help of L’Oréal Infallible 24H Foundation in a powder. Firstly, starting with the outer appearance, it comes in a nice powder foundation box. I used my regular powder puff to apply it.
I was actually surprised when I just did the first glide of my puff on the foundation, it felt so smooth like a silk. With other powders, I actually have to swipe a lot of times to get the product on puff.
I just wanted to check the shade on my skin when I received the product so I did not even prepare my skin before applying the foundation powder. My face was not freshly washed and moisturized and I just applied the L’Oréal Infallible Powder Foundation all over my face. I was so super surprised on the instant fresh look I got within seconds.
It was like a magic to me that I did not have to apply foundation, make it settle in the skin, look for more uncovered areas and reapply the product. It was just so instant that I got good coverage, fresh looking skin yet so natural.
I am so glad that I don't have to spend a lot of time on my foundation anymore. That's the basic step that has to be perfect before going ahead with the rest of products.
I used it again on freshly washed and moisturized face and it gave a more enhanced result.
Thanks L’Oréal for coming up with such great product for people like me who would not like to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror each morning.
This foundation did not made my skin dry or flaky nor did it made my face looking cakey. Instead, it gave me a fresh and glowy look which I never experienced with my regular foundations.
I am happy that I will save my money and energy on experminenting any further.
Tips: Always prepare the skin for best results, like cleasing face, applying a serum and moisturizer for the foundation to settle well in the skin.
I really like L’Oréal Infallible 24H Foundation in a powder! When I havr a busy day, I usually have to retouch my make up since wearing mask on and off smudge them a lot. Since using L’Oréal Infallible 24H Foundation in a powder, I notice that I don’t have to retouch my make up, only my lipsticks which I don’t mind.
Tips: Dab small amount of the the foundation into the powder puff and apply softly over your face. You don’t have to dab too much, because the small amount of foundation is enough to use for the whole day.
It's a powder, but creamy? It's granules that smash together to make a silky smooth finish and I'm so confused by this witchery. How did they do it! Usually I use my liquid then apply powder over to remove that dewy shine. This stuff eliminates the need for my liquid all together! Surprising coverage for a powder and is very buildable. I'm impressed.
Tips: Use a damp beauty blender to not waste product
I tried this in a few different ways but really am not a fan of it and I really tried to like it! It does have a nice light fragrance but you can’t smell it when it’s on your face so that’s a bonus. It does apply nicely whether you use the sponge dry or damp. Packaging is cute and the sponge is great to use. Wasn’t really sure in which way to use this as the packaging didn’t really give directions but the L’Oréal website says use dry or you can use the sponge wet to create a cream consistency.
I first tried dry and straight on my face. It applied nicely but straight away my face felt super dry and chalky. The powder accentuated all pores, hairs and lines. It gave little coverage and redness, acne scars were all still obvious. It did apply evenly but with little coverage. Face looked and felt dusty and powdery all day. It did stay on all day but not a fan.
I tried with a primer underneath: Definitely felt less dry but could still feel it when you move your face. Again it shows up and settles in all the lines, pores and hairs and makes them obvious. Still looks chalky.
Tried with a damp sponge: (I had so much hope) Apply nicely and was super smooth. A little more coverage but not by a lot, redness etc still not covered and doesn’t layer very well and turns more powdery/cakey. As the day went on my skin felt drier and drier. It sadly still looks very obvious that I’m wearing powder.
Tried over liquid foundation and was super cakey.
Sadly this was a flop for me and my skin. I wouldn’t compare this to a liquid foundation and wouldn’t recommend. It’s so obvious and powdery on the skin with little coverage and I can’t find a way to like it. It may look nice and even in photos but in natural light it’s a no from me.
I first tried with a dry sponge just straight on my face
Tips: If you are going to use this for sure use it with a damp sponge so it’s not so drying on your face. May work well for people who want to wear makeup but don’t have anything to cover and just want an even light coverage.
I’m not a huge fan of powders normally, I have slightly drier skin. But this powder provided me with great coverage without leaving my skin cakey or dry-looking. I’ve taken to wearing it way more than I expected too, and often all on its own! Highly recommend.
So I tried the foundation in true beige colour which may have been a tad light for my coloring. Firstly I tried it using the sponge applicator that comes in the compact and found it looked too light for my skin and I thought it highlighted the fine lines and creases on my face HOWEVER when I applied it using a powder brush, it had quite a different appearance on my skin and didn't seem to light and didn't accentuate the lines on my face. I'm not sure why this made a big difference... maybe I was using too much on the sponge but a brush is definitely my preference for application. This powder lasted all day on my skin even after a heavy, sweaty gym session. Easy to apply and longlasting. At around $40 this powder is good value as would last a few months.
Tips: If you don't like the look it gives you using the sponge applicator then I highly recommend using a brush and applying it that way.
