Like the title says, the darker colours are really good. Black, dark brown, even light brown could be good. I use a dark purple shade that's fine but it fades really fast, as do the reds. I had light blue hair beforehand and within a couple of weeks after dyeing it the blue started to show through most of the way. Not one of the best.

I bought this because I like to try new products to see how they measure up against each other and also because it's easy on the purse strings. I found it to be easy to use and easy to follow instructions but as with most hair dyes I find the gloves they supply are too short for my fingers and end up splitting and dying my hands the colour of my hair which isn't easy to remove. I find that it does cover evenly and gives a nice vibrant colour but it fades pretty fast as is to be expected with cheap dyes though I guess. The packaging is a bit cheap looking which I guess reflects the price well so it doesn't appeal to me a great deal.
I bought this a few months back in the blue/black shade when it was on special for $9.00 to darken my already natural black hair.
The package comes with gloves, instruction manual, developer creme, conditioner and hair dye in a simple cardboard/plastic box as shown in the above picture.
Now the dye itself honestly lasted for only a couple of weeks and a few days. The colour starting washing out at my very next wash which was very annoying because in my white bathroom the splashing of hair dye while shampooing doesnt look pretty on the wall.
However, like they say you get what you pay for. I would recommend this if you are after a quick change in colour for the weekend but if you are looking for something permanent and long lasting - find something else.
Overall, the colour intensity is good (I score it an 5/10) the scent of hair dye is obviously overpowering, the conditioner smells nice but the hair dye does not last very long and it may leave your hair feeling not so healthy after use.
Tips: Grab this product if you are only after something cheap or a colour change for the weekend or a last minute occasion because colour does not last long.
I find that if you are looking for a cheap, at home hair colour then this is an okay option. For me, the colour faded so quickly that I had to redo it again not long after, and if you're like me and try to spread the time between dying as long as you can, this isn't the product for you.
Even on the cost front, having to redye it so often would end up costing you more than using a more expensive brand in the first place, so there're really no advantage of using this over another brand.
I recently purchased this hair dye kit in the shade Blue Black from the supermarket as it was on special and I wanted to change my hair color.
The instructions included were clear and direct, the gloves provided were great to. It is easy to mix and apply. The only problem is that I feel that there wasn't much product at all. It didn't fully cover my shoulder length hair which was a downfall. Never less the color was gorgeous and vibrant.
I do like this dye, I think the color quality is amazing but I think that they could include more dye in this kit.
(Hehe song quote!)
You definitely get every pennies worth if you buy this! hahah.
I used this a lot in High School, and I'd wonder why my hair was so damaged. When I would use this product, it would leave my hair so dry, the colour faded very well, and washed out faster than other brands.
I would only recommend this if you had an amazing treatment to use afterwards to repair your hair.
After my hair dries from washing it out, was literally the first time i've seen my curls go into a frizzy mess.
10/10 would not buy again. (even on my student budget)
Tips: Put the box back down.
I used to use this brand alot back in highschool mainly in a medium brown and it would make my hair VERY dark sometimes almost black however it faded out very quickly and didnt last long at all. Is very cheap and i think you get what you pay for with this product, I probably wouldnt use it again or reccommend unless you really needed something quick and cheap but you may aswell pay a few extra dollars for something that lasts a little longer. Only thing i liked was the smell of the conditioner
This hair colour is bargain buy for permanent hair colour, but you definately get what you pay for. I tried this in the colour 'Chocolate Brown'. I normally prefer a semi-permanent, but I had a bit of regrowth and I wanted something that would cover it well and last.
In the box was the standard gloves, conditioning treatment, cream and colour developer but I was really suprised by how little developer there was. I found that when I mixed the cream and developer the resulting mixture was not nearly as much as most home colour kits.
I applied it to my hair and found my eyes watering from the intense chemical smell. I have shoulder-length hair but I found I struggled to apply enough mixture to my hair to coat it evenly.
I waited about 45 minutes then rinsed, shampooed and used the conditioning treatment. I was pleased to find even after rinsing my hair didn't feel too dry and was fine after conditioning.
After blow-drying my hair I was disapointed to find that although I really liked the colour (a glossy chocolate brown, although this would be a hard colour to get wrong), my hair colour itself was quite patchy as a result of not being able to get enough of the colour through.
In terms of lastability I noticed some colour washout but not more than I would expect from any other colour. Even though it's a bargain I wouldn't purchase this again as for now much more there are so many other better alternatives available.
Tips: If you've got longer than shoulder-length hair, thick hair or just a lot of hair it's worth getting two boxes as this really doesn't supply an adequate amount of product.
I've dyed my hair with this brand quite a few times with loads of different shades, does what it says however I think they need a bigger range of colours. Recently used 02 Dark Brown and have to say I really like it.
Tips: Anything past shoulder length hair you will need TWO bottles of dye .
Before I started this dye job I went into it knowing that reds do fade quite badly so I only had moderate expectations. I chose the colour Intense red ( I am a natural redhead but wanted a bit more oomph). I have long hair so used 2 boxes as recommended; luckily it was on special in the supermarket. Even not on special it is still a very good price. Unfortunately as per most dyes the gloves are a bit naf so I used latex gloves instead. Once I got started the smell made my eyes water. It was however quite easy to get good coverage over all of my hair. After developing and rinsing out it looked amazing. Within about 10 days the colour had lost its intensity and just looked a bit 'muddy' and I was very disappointed that the colour fade was that quick, even with using colour lock products. I think if you are after intense results but don't mind the fade then this is a perfectly fine product to use but for me I was hoping for something with a little more staying power.
