I have a thing about sunblock in general. It's usually thick, greasy, stinks and I really don't like having it sitting on my skin. Facial sunblocks tend to be a bit better with those things but I still don't find them enjoyable to use. I also have sensitive skin and need to be careful what products I use because even the most inconspicuous things can give me bad reactions. This product has changed that! When they call it ultra light it really is ultra light on my skin. I have been putting this on as the last step in my morning skincare routine and even on top of serum, eye cream and moisturiser it sinks into my skin nicely (I do have a couple of minutes break between each layer) and isn't at all noticeable. I haven't worn makeup over the top of it in the trial period so can't comment on the effects of that. The packaging is really nice. It's a small thin rectangular bottle and has a screw on lid. It would be the perfect size to slip in your handbag for re-application and is great for travel. It says to shake it before you apply it and you can hear a metal ball inside to mix up the product. It's light, doesn't make my skin at all greasy and has basically no scent. My sensitive skin has not objected at all to this product and I've had no breakout from introducing it either. The texture is quite liquidy and it's easy to spread and blend into your skin. I have really enjoyed trialling this product and it has become a staple of my skincare routine. Love, love, love it!

I have been buying this brand regularly, as I love how good it is for my sensitive skin! It's such a winner.
This sunscreen is the best out there, and I have tried a lot! It's non irritating for my family and my skin, even with my super sensitive skin.
It has a high SPF rating and protects my family and my skin from the harsh sun. The lotion is lightweight, gentle and oh so nice on my skin,
A five star product - just wonderful sun screen,
This product came with perfect timing as its that time of year to step up my sunscreen game! Im rather light skinned and can easily burn if not careful.
I spend alot of time hiding from the sun so am excited to use this over summer as it is 50+ SPF.
First impression was that the packaging is very simple and to the point. The bottle is different from what ive ever used before but I found I liked it. When you take the lid off it has a kinda like fine point that the product comes out of which I found helped me with how much product I dispersed from it, usually I find I end up with too much in my hand and have to waste a bit wipin it off. Also loved the rectangular shape as I could stand it up with no fear of it falling and wasting product.
It says that it is non-perfumed, which I found to be true. It had a extremely suttle scent which is to be expected, but that is hardly noticeable.
The packaging says it is fluid and to shake well. I found it to be so but was happy with the consistency of the product. Found that it was easy to apply and felt that it dried quickly which I liked.
I think this may be my go to this summer!
Tips: Keep this on a shelf in your bathroom (or where ever you do your makeup etc) to help remind you to apply it every day before you leave the house.
I hate sunscreen. I hate the greasy feeling that's left behind no matter how much you rub it in. I hate applying makeup on top of it and having it slide off my face by 10am. I hate the smell. I just hate everything about it. Except for the sun protection.
Anthelios XL Ultra by La Roche Posay has wowed me, by being the very opposite of every sunscreen I've tried. It's light, it soaks into the skin, leaving behind a smooth canvas for makeup. It has no scent and doesn't irritate the skin.
The bottle is very small, but I think you'll get a lot of uses out of it, so I'm not too concerned about that. I'd pay $31 for it, in fact I'll be picking it up when I'm next in the pharmacy, so I have one ready when this one runs out.
Wow.
This sunscreen was great! It was light weight so didn’t feel really heavy on your skin, it almost dried down matte rather then greasy which is amazing for a sunscreen, it didn’t cause any breakouts & it wore well under make up too! Honestly loved this product!
Tips: No pretty self explanatory
Luckily we have had a good run of weather including over the weekend to give this sunscreen a try. It did protect me from burning, however it is still spring so hard to know fully how well it protects against harsh NZ summer sun.
It comes in a small, very clinical looking, container. At first I was surprised how small it is as I am used to huge bottles. But I now see the benefit of being able to have it in my purse at all times.
The consistency is very thin and easy to apply so doesn't require a lot (so should last a while). It doesn't have that thick sticky feel of normal sunscreens, which is good especially for the face to prevent breakouts. It is fragrance free and doesn't smell like normal sunscreen but it is not scent free. It has a clinical medically type smell.
Because it is so thin it comes out very quickly and comes out of the bottle as soon as top is off (though this may stop once it is not so full). So be careful not to waste too much.
Downsides is that it isn't waterproof or sweatproof so probably better used when just hanging outside rather than at the beach or while exercising.
Tips: Pays to shake bottle first to prevent the cream from separating.
I bought this last summer. My skin is sensitive and can be quite reactive. I use a lot of Avene but had seen this range compared quite favourably online with Avene, so was excited to see it on shelves in Aotearoa. I was looking for a new facial sunscreen, and after talking to staff at the pharmacy, bought this. The bottle is quite small and square and flat. Which is useful for ease of transportation. The fluid inside is thinnish and has a very light scent. I have found out that sometimes, when companies remove a scent to make an unscented product, the extra ingredients can be more irritating to skin than if they had left the scent in. French products, on the whole, do not remove scents. And i do think that this is a major point of difference. The lotion is easily absorbed and i can wear makeup after a setting time, but it almost evens out my skin tone as well, so don't often wear makeup with this. I have never been burnt with it on, which is a good indicator to me of its efficacy. There is no tacky, or oily feel after application, in fact sometimes I forget that I have sunscreen on. Will definitely repurchase. Not sure about the price advertised here. I bought mine for under $20.
Tips: Use it!
SUPER lightweight sunscreen! Leaves NO oily or greasy feeling and no white cast. Perfect for wearing underneath makeup, or when you want an undetectable sunscreen.
Tips: Apply a really small amount and ensure it's rubbed into the skin well. If you do accidentally use too much, or it's not rubbed in enough, it can 'pill' on the skin and rub into small white balls.
The product comes in a medium size narrow bottle about the size of a deck of cards. It has a screw off lid and a nozzle type opening. The scent is unusual but not unpleasant. It doesn't smell like sunblock and one applied you can't smell it at all. The cream is neither thick or thin in consistency. I wasn't too sure how much was to be applied but I didn't really need too much to cover my arms and shoulders. It soaks right in so not visible once applied which can be hard to judge where you have applied cream or not. Using this product I didn't burn but I will give it another go later in summer when I can give it an even better testing at the beach.
Tips: Watch out when you open the bottle, it does pour faster than you think.
I really liked using the La Roche-posay 50+ sunblock. I have senstive skin and find it hard to find a sunblock that doesnt upset my skin. I found the texture of this sunblock to be quite nice, it rubbed in to my skin really well with out leaving it greasy. My skin is actually feeling really nice at the end of the week using it so there must be something mosturzing in it. I have not been able to try it on a really sunny day yet. But will update my review once the weather warms up and i can see how it works with the sun. The sunblock i received was in a 50ml bottle so this would be a good size to slip in to my handbag
Tips: I soon discoved that i didnt need to much in my hand to cover my face. Just remember to check in the mirror before going out, had a few white bits. Give the bottle a shake before you use it.
