I was skeptical to try another tan brand, as i was very attached to my current brand. However im glad i did step out of my comfort zone. I havent tried an express tan before, only the longer overnight varities, so this was new. The bottle is easy to use, pump, lid, good size, the smell is actually very nice which is great when applied to skin. The mousse looked quite runny but it actually did the trick, gliding onto my skin very easily. And the main question is did it work? Yes and better than i expected. I waited 2.5 hours for a medium tan on my skin, and i am impressed. The tan was even, not streaky, and colour was perfect , and i feel like it developed a bit further after washing and moisturising. May even try to leave on longer next time.

Tips: Dont forget to moisturise your dry knees, ankles and elbows first!
Thanks BR for this trial
Applied to arms legs & a little to declotage & face.
Bottle is blue & black plastic, nice colour, very light weight, easy to handle, press down the nozzle to disperse which comes out with ease. Appears quite watery on application, has 2 tone colour, mainly due to one of the colours being used for guidance of application!
Exfoliated in morn, used non-moisturising shower gel & rinsed. Used St Tropez Tanning Mitt, to apply which was easy, ( seperate review done for mitt). Moisturised knees, feet & elbows as recommended, which gave more natural finish. Was cautious on how much product to dispense, don't think I applied enough on first application. Has a lovely smell not like other self tanners. Left product on for just over 4 hours in the eve. The product seemed to be touch dry after about 1/2 hr, but after that it felt sticky, which I wasn't keen on, i didn't get dressed as was wary about transfer on clothes & furniture. Rnsed off after 4 hrs with slightly warm water, patted skin dry. There was no transfer of product on my white towel which was great!
After rinsing, skin felt really soft & nice smell had almost disappeared. Next morn didn't notice that much of a tan, certainly not what I was expecting felt disappointed. Lower legs were alot lighter than tops of legs & arms, might have been because I didn't apply enough product. So it definitely needed a 2nd application.
2 days later, showered with moisturising body wash this time, applied again in eve, applied generous amount this time. Exfoliated in morn (left on for 2 hrs) Eager to rinse off as it felt sticky, skin felt soft after.
Colour was golden after rinsing but wanted to see how colour developed overnight!
No transfer to my white towel which was pretty impressive.
The next morn was so impressed with colour it was a lovely golden colour, didnt look unnatural and definitely needed 2nd coat.
Impressed the tanner had worked, eventhough I had used a moisturising body wash that morning!
Applied moisturiser each day after showering to maintain tan & exfoliated once. In-between. I also noticed when showering the colour wasn't coming off like the tanning gel I mormally use, so that was a win win for me.
Tan is gradually fading back after 6 days, it's maintained a nice colour throughout so I'm stoked!
I suffer from Keratosis Pilaris & noticed a difference to texture of my skin whilst using this, my skin was so much smoother.
Conclusion.... I'm super impressed with this Tanner and is defintely a keeper for me.
I would highly recommend this and have already recommended to a friend. I was using a tanning gel prior to this, which I really liked but I think St Tropez blows it out of the water. My only gripe is its too sticky until you wash it off.
The great thing is there was no transfer of St Tropez onto my sheets at all!
Tips: Apply generous amount on 1st application & topup if needed. Exfoliation & moisturising feet, ankles, knees & elbows prior to application is key. "pat" your skin dry rather than rub after showering.
This is a great tanning mousse that I'd recommend to everyone. The packaging is great - good quality, no flimsy cheap plastic, and easy to pump out. I used the St Tropez tanning mitt that was also provided. It smells really nice - no nasty chemical tan smell! I also appreciate that this is quite a dark formula so I can see exactly where I've applied it. I left it on for one hour to see how a "light" tan looks, which just takes away my winter paleness (my legs haven't really seen the sun this summer) so that was enough for me and I was happy with this. I tried again and left it on for two hours which gave me a deeper tan but not so much it looked fake. I had to moisturise my entire feet and ankles because the tan really stuck to the dry bits and they looked dirty! So moisturise moisturise moisturise!
Tips: Moisturise! I did my enter feet + ankles and knees.
Hi everyone.I only received my can of St Tropez about eight days ago- so I’ve only had the chance to use it once fully so my daughter also tried. As it was a lovely colour we let it go 3 hours not faded off yet 8 days later. We both left it on for three hours as we wanted a deeper colour-it was really lovely natural golden. My daughter is more lighter skin than me and with the three hours it turned us both into a really lovely golden bronze, hers slightly darker,as if we had been on holiday for a week!It wasn’t difficult to put on.However we did apply on each others backs so no streaks/hard to reach-were very careful about exfoliating first, and drying our skin properly before where we applied it, I would definitely recommend it to you all. I think paler skins would start with one hour of tanning maybe. Then you could have option to reapply/go darker if you wanted .And it’s worth having the matching mitt. I think that really helped apply the product in an even way.It just made me feel like that post holiday feel,& nice wearing no makeup looking tan.
Tips: Definitely exfoliating first and have nice dry skin. Also a wee bit of moisturiser, not too heavy, just gently moisturise, your elbows, your knees and the backs of your heels, and any other place that maybe extra dry on your skin as those will go a bit darker.
This tanning moouse is easy to use. It dispenses as a foam, and the lightweight formula spreads evenly with the mitt. It also has a pleasant scent, similar to a sunscreen scent.
I left it on for one and a half hours for a light to medium tan on my reasonably pale skin. This resulted in a natural looking tan that looked like I had just gotten back from holiday. I'm planning on doing two hours next time, now I have a feel for the results. I would suggest doing the full three hours if you have medium to dark skin.
It develops after washing off, so don't be alarmed if you don't see results immediately.
I followed the directions of exfoliating and applying moisturiser to dry patches first, I also applied remnants to those patches rather than the full amount. This proved to be effective in keeping it even. I applied this a week ago and there is no sign of fade so far.
Tips: Invest in the mitt for easy, mess-free application.
Firslty, I have to mention the smell. This is by far the best smelling self tan I have ever used. It doesnt smell like tan at all, more like a sublte perfume. I love it.
This tan arrived at the perfect time as I had a wedding to attend that weekend, so that Friday evening was tan time. I prepared my skin by shaving, exfoliating and moisturising the dry areas around my knees and ankles.
As this was a product I'd not used before, I decided to play it safe and just apply one coat to my legs, using the mitt that also came with it. It glided on very easily and the mitt ensures that you dont miss any areas.
The instructions are to wash off after 1 hour for light tan, 2 hours for medium tan and 3 hours for dark. Now of course I want dark so I was waiting the 3 hours - however, after 3 hours I couldn't really see a difference at all so I bit the bullet and decided to sleep in it, as I usually would when I tan. I washed the next morning around 8am and was left with a very subtle natural tan.
I would usually prefer a darker tan, so the following week I went in and done 2-3 coats of tan, otherwise following the same routine as above. I much preferred the results this time - a darker, golden tan that still looked natural - and most importantly - not orange!
Although I'm not convinced of the express nature of this tan as I still required it to process overnight, I will definitely continue to keep using this, the smell combined with the natural colour is a winning combo.
Tips: Have a play with the developing times - if youre like me, you'll wanna leave it on for longer than the recommended 3 hours.
This is hands-down the best self-tan product I have ever used.
It is fabulous having this product come out in a lightly-coloured mousse rather than a cream lotion or liquid. It means you can see where it has been applied on your skin, and glides over it rather than immediately sinking in before it settles. Having said that, it dries super-quick once you've applied, so you feel touch-dry quickly, which I loved. The scent is minimal and pleasant with no detectable chemical smells. What a wonderful difference to others on the market that I've tried!
With my first application, I allowed it to develop for one hour, since I'm extremely pale and didn't want to come out looking like a carrot if the product wasn't ideal for me. I LOVE the idea of washing it off after development time so I feel fresh and contaminant-free for my furniture and bedsheets. The one hour application left a lovely slight-tan hue to my legs which took the white glow away. It lasted for a good couple of days, and probably would have been longer, but I wanted to try a longer development and see what happened.
The two hour development would be my favourite. The colour looks natural and is long-lasting. I'd say it gave me a good five days of colour, even with showering and using a shower puff. The problem areas of knees and ankles looked great too. I was thrilled.
I felt so confident in both the colour I was left with on my skin, and the fact that there was no chance of leaving smears of fake tan on my clothing in case of sweating.
This is a winner of a product in my eyes and I'm so glad to have been gifted the trial. Thank you BR Team for my new Beauty holy grail!
Tips: Moisturise knees and ankles before applying to avoid concentrated application.
I was excited to be selected for the St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse tanning mousse trial team. I used to use St Tropez tanning products years ago, however in recent years had gravitated towards brands that offered express tans so that I could apply and be tanned for a last minute party invite. This St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse tanning fulfilled those promises as you can leave the tan on for one hour for a light tan, two hours for a medium tan, and three hours for a dark tan.
I decided to go with the two hour processing time for my body as I am naturally fair and don’t like to look too dark. I chose a one hour processing time for my face as I like my face to have more of a light sun kissed natural glow, rather than a dark obvious tan.
The mousse is coloured which made it super easy to apply with the provided St Tropez Double Velvet mitt. Working quickly (as it dries fast), I applied the tan in circular movements.
The tan only felt slightly tacky and when I rinsed it off, I was impressed with the natural looking result. Longevity wise, this tan has lasted six days so far and is still going strong which I’m impressed with because some express tans start fading after a couple of days.
St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse tanning mousse is a beautiful tanning product and will be my new “go to” going forward due to the natural results and quality of the product.
Tips: Exfoliate and shave the day before to ensure that the tan looks it’s best.
I have done some research and have found that it is vegan friendly it also has an olive toned formula which is something I like. I love this golden glow tan. It has no 'fake tan' smell and it is great to have that sun-kissed glow throughout the year with no risk of sun damage! I am a very pale woman that LOVES fake tan to make me feel like a ghost to a golden goddess! When I applied it I noticed that it was fast absorbing, it was hydrating and it didn't feel sticky while I was waiting for it to develop. The smell was pleasant which is a nice change to the usual strong odd or off smell of other tanning products. The product was easy to spread and with a few pumps the mousse went quite far. So far I have noticed that there is no streaks! Woohoo! I then I rinsed it off after 3 hours and it left with a beautiful tan. Overall I definitely recommend this tan to everyone, especially for the fact that it works for everyone, you can have a light sun kissed tan after one hour, medium tone with two hours but when I got to 3 hours and rinsed it off I felt like it just stayed as a medium tan so it definitely didn't get as dark as I try to get sometimes.
Tips: The instructions say to exfoliate your skin before application and moisture dry areas which I did and it worked really well. Also when you want darker tan, I did it again after about two days and left it on over night and rinsed it in the morning and it got a darker result that I wanted.
This fake tan underwhelmed me a little- but I intend to give it another go, I applied if one Friday night and decided to leave for the 2 hour mid range it reccomended not the full three. I was excited to wash it off as sometimes fake tan smell is overwhelming. The initial smell was quite good and application with the mitt was easy. It didnt immediately go very dark so was good. I left to dry for a bit and chucked on a loose dress and headed to the supermarket . It was okay to wear under and doesn’t appear to have stained my clothes. It felt a little sticky. After the 2 hours I jumped in the shower and washed it off, I couldn’t see much come off. And then went to bed. The shower did lessen the smell and made the stickiness disappear. Overnight there was nothing left in the white sheets which is a massive win. I did notice a slight difference in colour in the morning but not huge, I think that it is nice for a light tan, and there was no obvious streaking, my knees and ankles also fared well.
Tips: I would leave this next time for the full amount of time to develop a bit darker. I used this in the whitest bits of me like my stomach and no orange or streaking so don’t be afraid. It is definitely a light tan product which would be good for winter, or those with very light skin. I intend on trying this again with a slightly different routine to see if it develops a bit deeper
