Yes, yes, yes! I bought a huge 500g bottle of this through a Lush group on Facebook, as I wanted to try all of the Lush shampoos I could. So far, I’m really pleased that I bought this!
The shampoo is a very pale, creamy golden colour. It almost gives off the vibe of being a conditioner because of how creamy it looks, but perhaps that’s just me. It smells really minty, probably because of the peppermint oil! It also contains a few fruit juices – pineapple, papaya, kiwi and mango. They all have healing properties, as this is a shampoo to heal not only your hair but your scalp too.
I like to use a bit more than recommended, as I find that I don’t get a huge lather and that makes me feel like my hair isn’t getting cleaned. It lathers pretty amazing with the amount I use, which is about the size of a 50c coin, with an added 10c coin for good measure. And as I use this only once a week it lasts forever!
It is suggested that you follow this shampoo with Lush’s Retread conditioner, and I’ve used it before, as well as other Lush conditioners. I have issues with Retread as I tend to use more than I need to and my hair feels greasy – but when I use the right amount (and of the other conditioners) my hair feels amazing. It feels soft, clean, with next to no tangles, and I find I can go for 4 days without having to “wash” my hair again.
My favorite conditioner to use with this though is Veganese – something about the pair just makes life worthwhile. I also add a squirt of American Cream conditioner just for the smell alone, oh I love it. I’m really enjoying this shampoo. It makes my hair feel amazing and I’d definitely repurchase it!
Now normally I really try and avoid shampoos with sulphates as I find them too drying on my scalp. I suffer severe dandruff and can't really use SLS for this reason.
However, I got this from the beauty vault with the intent of using it as a clarifying shampoo and it works perfectly just as that. My scalp isn't irritated in the process.
You need to shake the bottle before you use it so it emulsifies into the shampoo and it's a much runnier constancy than others. But it cleans your hair REALLY well.
Oily hair? Gone. Too much product? Gone. On top of that i'm sure the fruit juices in here magically soothed my scalp and left it feeling clean and refreshed.
I will tell you though as this is a very very clarifying shampoo it will strip your hair and leave it dry. I highly recommend following up with a deep conditioning mask on the ends to combat that.
Tips: Shake and a good conditioner and you'll be right. Use once a week. No more than that!
