When I first heard about this product I was really excited to try it. I read the back of the label and thought - perfect! But then I got called away so put it back. When I came back to the shelf later that day I picked up the product, paid for it and came home only to see that I had accidentally bought the brush cleaning solution instead. The packaging is exactly the same for both. That frustrated me but as the product was so well priced I decided I would still purchase the setting spray. When I used it, it felt fresh and nice on my face but it didn't really keep my make up in place. It was refreshing but that is about it. Unfortunate.

Tips: If you do decide to buy this product, check the label carefully as it is in the same packaging as another one of Elf's products.
I tried this product because of the price but will not be repurchasing. I have oily skin and my makeup doesn't last very long on its own. The elf makeup mist and set made only a little difference to the staying power of my makeup but it's the smell which I find the most off-putting. I suppose you get what you pay for!
I picked this up because I needed a setting spray for an event and couldn't justify spending the bigger money on urban decay etc. For $10 though, I obviously didn't expect it to last all day or night. But it did help for a few hours at least. Its a bit more of a spray than a mist, but pleasant enough. Packaging wise, it is in the exact same bottle as my daily brush spray, and it has come pretty close on more than one occasion!!
I would recommend this to anyone on a budget, it doesn't react at all with my super sensitive skin and the scent is gentle, and leaves me slightly dewy.
Tips: Do not mix it up with the brush cleaner!!! Identical bottles!
I struggle on a daily basis to keep my makeup from melting. This did not help at all. The longevity of my foundation was not extended, and was still oily and patchy by early afternoon. Also, the spray tended to come out in sharp burst, that left parts of your face dripping and subsequently patchy.
This was my first setting spray, I brought it from Kmart for $10 and was excited to spray it on my face as I am always having trouble with my foundation not staying put.
I have just read some of the reviews on this product, saying it smelt like ... well ... bad things. But honestly, I thought it smelt nice and fresh when I sprayed it on my face.
The product comes out nice and evenly, which is defiantly a plus and it doesn't feel harsh or 'tightening' like some other sprays I have read reviews on.
However, I don't feel like it increased the life of my foundation, I would still turn into an oily mess. But I did end up using up the whole bottle (very small bottle I must add, but it did last for quite a long time.)
I think if I didn't have oily as heck skin I would like this product a lot more, maybe just as a refreshing spray throughout the day.
For it's price I think it is a pretty decent product. I would recommend the spray to my friends, depending on their skin type of course.
Found this at kmart and thought I'd give it a try, for $10 was pretty happy with the result.
It smells nice and fresh and I like putting it on. The spray bottle is a little too harsh as in its more of a spray than a mist onto your face.
I found that for my skin/makeup it worked really well and kept my makeup in place all day.
The only small negative I found with this is that as it is such a strong amount of product being sprayed on I sometimes get a bit of mascara coming off under my eyes immediately after as result.
I bought this as I needed a setting spray and was on a budget. I see a lot of people have an issue with the smell but I can barely smell it at all! I used to love a matte finish but I bought this is 'Dewy' and am now a convert. I give my face a fair few sprays and then pat it down gently with my fingers and I find that does the trick. It just makes my base look super natural and like I don't really have much makeup on at all. As for staying power, it's definitely better than wearing NO setting spray. It doesn't keep as well as the bottle claims but I'm still happy. If I have more money I'll give the Skindinavia a try, but on a shoestring, this does the trick.
I won this spray in a Facebook competition but this review is my own opinion.
I've really been enjoying using this spray, it's really won me over from when I first started using it.
First off, the packaging is nice and simple. It's just a simple black bottle with a spray top. The spray mists out pretty evenly whih i like rather then squirting out. This is only a 60ml bottle. It is cheap to purchase but I do find with some elf products, that they are quite small sizes so that is something to Keep in mind if you are price checking things out.
This product has a very strong scent, when I first tried it out, I was actually worried that it had gone off but it seems to just be how it is supposed to smell. I wasn't planning on using it after the first time but it was the only setting spray I had and my dry skin really needs it after I apply powders to keep from looking cakey. I can happily say that after a couple of weeks usage, i stopped noticing The smell and it just smells kind of fresh and natural to me now.
I like to use this after I've applied all my face products but before my eye makeup so my mascara etc won't run. I do like to use a lot of this spray so my face goes kind of wet but I find it dries pretty quickly. This gives my face a slightly dewy look and helps soften any powdery bits if I've accidentally applied to much. I think it does help a little bit to Keep my makeup lasting throughout the day.
I've only been using my bottle for about 3 weeks and there is just over a quarter left. I think a months worth is pretty good value especially with how much I use. I will definitely re buy this product, I'm planning on getting a few bottles next month.
Tips: If you really hate the smell, try and stick with it to see if you get used to it. Luckily the smell fades really quickly after applying so you won't smell it for Long!
I have used this product for quite a while now as I am a girl on a budget, and was in need of a setting spray. I was recommended the Elf Mist and Set by a few friends, so I thought I would give it a go.
I was impressed with the fact that it did seem to work for a decent amount of time. I will use this spray when I am wearing a medium coverage foundation, and it most often keeps it looking good all day. However, if I do wear a full face of make up I find that it doesn't quite give the same length of staying power.
Some people find the scent very off-putting, but I personally don't mind the smell. I find the spray also very refreshing and very nice to spray on my face on a hot day.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is wearing a low-medium coverage of make up. Hopefully the smell doesn't put too many people off this product.
It is super affordable, and does the trick pretty well,
A few spritzes of this after makeup is applied helps my foundation not melt too bad and it also stops it wearing away so fast! Have only tried in winter so far and this is the first setting spray i have tried so I am impressed for a begginer!
Tips: Puchused off Iherb.com for around $6nzd I think. Dont apply too much or it feels weird on the skin
