From the moment my eyes met the exquisite heart-shaped packaging of Too Faced Soul Mates Blusher Bronzer I knew I had finally found my beauty soul mate. I LOVE bronzer and so the idea of make ups power couple combined in such an adorable, blend able manner had me swooning and I had to find a way to get my hands on one.
I have light to medium skintone and spent a lot of time deliberating over whether to go for Carrie and Big, or Ross and Rachel. The names of the bronzers are so darn cute! I ended up going for Ross and Rachel as I wanted a slightly deeper bronzed effect.
Both the bronzer and blusher like other Too Faced products are incredibly pigmented. The bronzer is a shimmering, warm brown that when applied with a light hand creates a beautiful sun kissed appearance that's never muddy. The blusher is very bold and not for the faint of heart, a vibrant hot pink that pairs perfectly with the bronze. You really do need to go easy on this as otherwise there's a big risk of overdoing it. Initially the much smaller size of the blusher to the largers bronze suprised me but its a good match as you really only need the smallest amount of product.
I've applied this a couple of ways - using a kabuki brush to sweep the bronzer across my face for a healthy, bronzed appearance; dusting the blush across my cheeks for a bright pop of colour, using the bronzer as a contour or swirling them both together as nature intended to create the perfect summery glow.
This is one of the prettiest products I own my go-to product when I'm rocking a tan. If you love a bronzed look, be sure to add this to your makeup collection.
I have had bronzers before, but none of them wowed me or made me giddy, or even put any color on my face without making me look like I was a pig in a wig rolling around in mud. Until this. I bought this off of Marleen in the Marketplace and I'm so, so, SO unbelievably happy I did.
She said she hadn't used it much and she wasn't kidding - it was in near perfect condition. It was also a lot bigger than I was expecting, the heart fits snugly in the palm of my hand with a bit of overhang. I don't know how to describe the color, it's just brown to me! With a little pink heart to the side, which you can use alone or use with the bronzer. My preferred option is to use them together, simply because I don't have a blush brush small enough to just get blush.
I swirl my brush around two to three times and tap it, before putting it on my face. It adds just enough color to stop me from looking like Casper but it doesn't add so much I look like Snooki circa Jersey Shore. The thing I love most is that it is buildable, but I've never wanted to add more onto my face. It blends out really nicely and I feel like it's the perfect kind of bronzer for my face.
Would I repurchase? Yes I would. Even though the price is ridiculous, as I don't wear it often it would last (and is lasting me) a very long time.
