Frosty!

I'm usually a big fan of Nivea lip products, but this one just isn't for me.

I really like two things: the scent and the packaging. It smells sweet and sugary without being too overpowering, and the tube is handy, sturdy and cute (gotta love pink packaging). However, that is basically where my love for this lip balm ends...

First off, unlike the other Nivea balms I have tried, this is not particularly moisturising. It definitely doesn't leave my lips "irresistably smooth" or soft, and I find it slightly waxy to apply.

Second, I *hate* how the colour looks on me. It's a very pale pink, which looks really nice in the tube. However, the "pearly shimmer" is no exaggeration - it's super frosty when applied, and looks almost white-pink in some lights. Overall, it just is not a flattering shade or finish on me (~NC15 skintone).

So, I won't be repurchasing this and I wouldn't recommend it to others unless they are a big fan of the frosty lipstick look.

Tips: If you're wanting a good tinted balm, I'd definitely recommend any of the Nivea Fruity Shine lipbalms over this one - they are moisturising, glossy, and nicely pigmented. xx

NIVEA Lip Care Pearl And Shine

This is probably the worst lip balm that I have tried. The packaging is really nice, in a lipstick style. The smell of the lip balm is really nice. I found this lip balm to just dry out my lips even more than what they were. It also did not look that appealing on my lips when I applied it.

The colour = ew.

Firstly i have to say ew. The colour of this lip balm just doesn't work. It doesn't work for me and it doesn't work for any other person ive seen wearing it. It doesn't do a very good job of moisturizing the lips. It doesn't last long and once it is off the lips, they just feel dryer. I also found that it was actually quite expensive, but you can get it cheaper on special and i have noticed that it seems to be on special a lot.

Nivea Pearl and Shine

Wasn't a big fan of this lip gloss. It did look pretty when first applied with a subtle shine and colour but did not last long and needed very regular applying. Did not appear to help at all with dryness or moisturisation, I think it just did not last on the lips long enough to have any affect. A pretty colour but not suitable if you want it to last a while.

Tips: You can usually find it cheap at the supermarket

Not the best

This was the first Nivea lip balm that I used and I was quite disappointed. Since trying other products from their range this one has definitely become a let down. It moisturizes the lips when first applied, however some of their products do this better. It also has a super shimmering finish, which makes it a bit slippery and causes it to easily come off. The shimmer is too chunky and it leaves a weird feel and look to your lips, not very comfortable for daily wear. Overall I won't purchase this product again, I didn't even finish it the first time I tried it and just threw it out. So save your money and spend it on a decent lip balm.

Tips: Nivea repair and protection is my favorite lip balm from the brand and my favorite all time lip balm.

Corpse lips!

Unfortunately I have the same problem with this lip balm as I do the Nivea 'soft rose' balm - the product is a blue toned very pale pink with a silvery white pearl cast which completely blots out my natural lip colour and gives me whitish pale dead looking lips. It is bearable over a lipliner but it gives me a very Naomi Campbell 90s dark liner pale pearl lip look which I am not very fond of. Also the formula itself is not moisturising and it seems to just sit on top of my lip and not sink in at all. I also find the pearl particles slightly gritty and rather irritating. There is no shine to this balm it is very matte finished. There is also a very chemical plastic-y taste. May work better for cooler toned people but I can't see it being very flattering on anyone to be honest. Overall this balm is not the one for me and I prefer others in the range.

Pretty in pink but not moisturising

Nivea, such a trusted and reliable brand - I love to try all of the products that they bring out.

This lip moisturiser I brought a while ago, as the pretty, pastel pink packaging drew me in. I adore all things pink and its such a cute little lip moisturiser to pop in your bag for when you go out.

Just some background on my lips, they are generally rather dry and get cracked easily. Therefore, I need a lip moisturiser that is ultra hydrating and moisturising.

Unfortunately, this product is not for me..it's really not moisturising enough for my lips. It does give a lovely, pink sheen to my lips but does nothing in terms of hydration.

There are so many other products out there that are much more effective.

I much prefer the new lip butters that have come out from Nivea (especially the caramel flavoured one) , as they really seem to treat my dry lips and moisturise them well.

Overall, I was disappointed in this product and would not repurchase.

Nivea Pearl & Shine

I am a fan of Nivea products, but was disappointed with this lip gloss, actually I shouldn't call it a lip gloss because it wasn't that shiny, more of a lip balm. The pink tube was cute, and the price very cheap, especially on special from the supermarket. I applied to cleansed lips and found it was slightly moisturising with a subtle hint of pearly-pink colour, but not as hydrating as I would have liked. After about half-an hour my lips started to get a bit dry, so it was not very long-lasting. Also no SPF which we need in our hot sun! I will use the rest of the tube up as I don't like wasting stuff, but wouldn't recommend if you want a really hydrating, shiny moisturising balm.

Tips: If you want more colour apply two or three layers.

Glossy but overprices

I love Nivea lipbalms and when i saw this on the shelf and i'd run out of pawpaw I thought this would do the trick. Sadly it just wasn't for me. The gloss was nice and subtle, nt sparkly like a kiddy drugstore product but the colour was just a washout. For the first 15minutes after you apply it feels great on your lips but after that it all seems to go to pasture. It clumps an forms tiny balls of roduct on your lips, making it feel like your lips are covered with sand, not fun!

Tips: Their other products are much much nicer!

A handbag essential!

Love this for a pastel pink soft shimmer! I always keep it in my bag as a quick top up instead of actual lipstick.

Tips: Its so simple and easy to use I don't think you can get it wrong!
