I grabbed some of this after losing my last olay spf moisturiser. I loved the more simple formulas from olay and this more advanced formula was on sale so I thought I’d try it out.
First of all I love the pump. I loved the other olay sensitive formula I was using but the screw top I must admit was a bit annoying. It’s nice not having to tip the bottle up and tap it.
The formula itself is nice. Not to thick or greasy. A nice creamy consistency that spreads easily and is well absorbed. Which makes it great for underneath makeup. Which is what I use it for really.
My skin feels great when I have this on. It does almost act to prime the skin smoothing and softening it making it perfect for under the makeup. Creating a really even base. I feel like my pores looked smaller. As for my wrinkles I think they are hard to combat and cover but it’s preventative properties are promising.
I like the size and shape it nice to handle and a good weight to travel with.
The ingredients are great. Exactly what I want for under my makeup or if just heading out.. the fact it protects from uva and uvb rays is great. I wouldn’t use it for sunbathing but for a decent cover up running the kids to kindy I highly rate it.
I have sensitive skin and have had reactions to a lot of sunscreens and moisturisers in the past but this has not caused any problems for me. It also hasn’t clogged pores or caused breakouts it’s lovely and light to use.
Good price if you can get it on sale which usually you can. I would be happy with this and most the other moisturisers in the olay range I’ve been impressed for the price paid.
I am a fan of supermarket brand skincare as an affordable option for everyday use so I was excited to give the Olay product a try.
My first impressions were good, the pump bottle is cute and convenient and it dispenses just the right amount of product. The moisturiser is creamy and has a pleasant scent that is not overwhleming.
I used it every morning straight after washing my face with my usual foaming cleanser. I found the texture a bit greasy on the skin so I left it for a while to see if it would soak in. Unfortunately it stayed on the surface and I found that it wasn't a great base for my foundation.
I do like that it has an SPF15, not enough for when you're outside a lot but it's good to know it's there as an extra layer of sun protection.
I used the moisturiser regularly for two weeks and while it is perfectly adequate for retaining moisture, I did not notice any of the anti-aging effects. Of course, two weeks is not enough time to see progressive results from active ingredients.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this for anti-aging treatment but if you have drier skin and want a day cream with sun protection this would be fine.
