I picked this product up on whim in Victoria's Secret, Sydney. I LOVE VS and was lured in by the name and packaging on this occasion.
Regrets? None at all!
Even just breaking open the hot pink box and liberating the black tube, labelled in hot pink and silver, with a silver cap - and reading the 'supermodel approved' claim makes you feel like this is a girly superstar secret.
The gel inside smells amazing. I wouldn't have a clue what the scent is, but even the scent energizes me and lifts my 'it's 7am and I'm getting ready for work' spirits. The gel is a creamy pearlescent ivory pink, with a cool feel and a thick consistency.
A little spreads well over my face, and it instantly reflects light, tightens slightly, and literally freshens up my face.
This product is part highlighter, part primer and all class. It does cause my oily skin to become slightly more oily on super humid days, but I can handle that as it doesn't cause breakouts and it's nothing a little powder can't handle. So worth it for the fresh finish and energising qualities.
It wears well, and after two months of use the tube barely looks dented! Pick this up if you can - it's awesome.
I've been using this for almost 10 months and (wait for it) I put it all over my face like a lotion and there is STILL plenty of product left. I bought it for $AUD12.00 from Victoria's Secret in Melbourne after reading BR member Trudi's amazing review! I'm gobsmacked that it was only $12 for 33ml of product.
Now my relationship with this gel got off to a rocky start and Trudi gave me plenty of helpful tips on how she uses it to get that "glow". For a product used by "supermodels" I was expecting a more fancy smhancy packaging but no it comes in a simple plastic black tube with silver and pink lettering to get you on your way.
It's an ivory iridescent (almost holographic) gel and when massaging the product into my skin it appears more peach. For months I've been trying to place the scent and it actually reminds me of a vanilla chocolate candle that we used to burn growing up. So when applying the product it's not a typical refreshing feeling for me but one of warmth.
The gel goes on easily and it doesn't dry too quickly so it gives you more than enough time to place it where you prefer. The first time I used it I decided to wear it out on a bare face on the tops of my cheeks and my heart almost stopped when I saw the shimmer on my fingers, I couldn't detect any shimmer on my face until I stepped into better lighting and boy was I unhappy. Did I put too much? Probably.
My next few attempts was to wear it under my foundation but I found that I couldn't detect any glow. It was as if my foundation just swallowed the living daylights out of it. Did I put too little? Probably. I tried this on top of my foundation just in the high points of my cheeks and it gave me a lovely wet looking glow which was beautiful but was hard for me to blend into my foundation without moving the foundation at the same time. What I loved about this application was that the glow stayed in place all day.
Surprisingly my favourite way to wear this product is on bare skin - all over my face and mainly at night. The iridescent shimmers in this gel gives off pink peach hues on my chocolate skin and I LOVE IT!! I still wear blush and highlight but the rest is just the gel because it gives off a healthy glow. Admittedly the shimmer transfers but it's not something that will stop me from repurchasing it again.
