Messy, but does leave your skin super soft

I have eczema, so I'm always on the lookout for good products. The packaging is gorgeous, very minimal modern monochrome font. It's an Australian brand, but made in China, and claims to be all organic which is a huge plug.

This was a really nice scrub for soothing my skin, and also smells like a divine coffee. How it works is you get your skin wet in the shower, then rub the scrub all over, leaving in for a few minutes before rinsing off.

However, I found it was really messy. It's coarser than most other coffee scrubs and doesn't wash off so easily, so if you're not prepared for this you might spill a lot on the shower floor, or if you haven't rinsed thoroughly you will get it in your towels. If you're looking for a free coffee-scented tan though, this will leave a hint of tint on your skin that you would need very vigorous washing to remove. Generally I use scrubs in a quick shower, but I think with this scrub I would recommend taking your time.

The coffee and coconut oil combination clearly work though, because they definitely leave my skin very soft and not as itchy. If you're okay with spending a bit of time and effort, this works really really well.

Tips: Pour the powder into a jar to make it more manageable to control how fast you're pouring the stuff out as the packaging can be a little difficult to work with in the shower.

Super coffee scrub

I am a big fan of exfoliating and scrubbing my skin, getting all that old skin off and maybe being a little obsessive about being 'cleaner'. I was super excited to get to trial the Mr Bean Coconut Body scrub, as I've been wary of the 'fad' that has been coffee scrubs, but I can honestly say this is my new favourite product!

It feels wonderful to rub the scrub all over your body, and a little on your face. The smell is wonderful... as it's mixed with coconut oil it's not got too much of a coffee smell. I followed the instructions some what, it states to leave it on for five minutes but I'm not good at timing myself in the shower, so I kinda just left it on for as long as I could. Washing it off does leave a massive mess in the shower... like a coffee scented murder scene! In all corners and possibly up some walls too (I'm one of those vigorous shower peeps).

After I washed it off, my skin felt AMAZING. Like seriously, AMAZING!! I have sunspots and tough skin on my décolletage, thanks to being a pale teen but wanting so badly to be a sun baby, I can honestly say the skin on my chest has not felt this way in ages. I'm in love! It's so soft an fresh looking. The rest of my body equally feels amazing. The skin on my arms, stomach and legs just feels great... I am honestly a convert and will be a regular user of coffee scrub. I've even had comments about how the skin on my face seems to be "glowing" a little (I'm chalking that up to the scrub as well).

I don't think I would use the product more than twice a week, as I think it could be a bit too harsh... but definitely a must in any beauty routine.

Tips: Be prepared for a shower mess :P

Amazing!

This product is actually really good! I was hesitant initially because it looked like ground coffee beans... but it was perfect! Smelt amazing! Gives a really good scrub, and gives that perfect feeling of water dripping off... water on a duck! Will most definitely be buying this product again!

Coffee for the Body

Ive had this for quite awhile now and its definitely my go too when the body needs a good scrub and exfoliation. Its quite a nice texture its even nice just to use a little on your hands while your in the shower. I had read that its good to use circular motions and move up the body so that's what i do, it can get quite messy in the shower so make sure you rinse the walls etc as soon as you can as otherwise it leaves a few marks. Its nice to keep on for a bit and then make sure you rinse all the scrub off. Pat yourself dry and i find i don't need to moisturise after it until the following day. Definitely feels like a good pick me up.

Tips: Great to remove built up tan and scrub away any worries. Enjoy the aroma :)

Smooth skin but there's a catch

I've got such mixed feelings about this product. First of all the packaging and size of this scrub is great, you can seal the bag and keep it in the shower which makes things easy. You get a decent amount of scrub for your $$. The texture is wet and gritty and it's great fun to apply. I scrub it all over my whole body and try to leave for 5-10 mins to get the maximum benefit from the caffeine in the coffee beans. It sounds like a long time to be standing naked in the shower but if you spend the time scrubbing rough/dry areas like elbows and knees, it really pays off. I feel absolutely amazing after I rinse the scrub off. I am completely moisturised, smooth as a baby and feel like I'm glowing. I feel like this scrub does wonders for my skin. The only problem I have is the cacao. It doesn't come off when I rinse the scrub off. It gets stuck to my skin with the coconut oil and leaves a dirty layer on my skin. And then I get big brown patches all over me which looks worse than a patchy fake tan. And it's really hard to get the cacao off. Even after washing and scrubbing my face, I still had a brown cotton pad when I toned. It honestly looks like you've been rolling in mud and haven't had time to shower. I'd really love this scrub if it didn't leave me looking grubby. It makes my skin feel absolutely amazing. It's almost worth looking dirty just for the smooth skin.

Tips: Use it at night so most of the cacao has rubbed off before you have to go out in public

Soo delicious!!

I scored a bag of this in a Goodiebox a few months back & I am hooked!

This scrub is a soft but gritty mixture of all the goodness. It smells like coffee (of course). It's a loose mixture so it's a little messy. I stand in the bath while putting it on my skin so I can scoop up the drop off (as there's a fair amount of it). The smell is just wonderful. My whole house smelt of coffee.

This scrub left my skin feeling sooo unbelievably soft & smooth & I do think it improved the appearance after doing this a couple of times in 1 month.

Tips: Definitely get all wet first. To make the mixture a bit easier to get onto your skin, also have quite wet hands too as it sticks better. Try not to move around while you're waiting for it to dry as you will leave a trail of granules everywhere. Use a loofah when washing off as this does leave a tinge to the skin.

Fake tan...if you're into that sort of thing.

Sooo I usually smell like coffee on the daily (barista) so wasn't too phased with smelling like it after the shower. The overall texture of the scrub it really nice but boy oh boy does it make a mess of the shower/bathtub. I was really optimistic about using the scrub and did what I normally do and wash with soap (LUSH soap) and then follow with a body scrub (if it's that time of the week) After waiting while it dried (as instructed) I rinsed the scrub off only to find my body covered in what looked like a REALLY bad fake tan. Which I figured was from the oil in the coffee beans. That left me feeling a bit meh. Safe to say I had to re-wash myself...twice and might I add scrub with the loofah to get the residue off my skin. quite annoyed really.

Tips: make sure you have a loofah and good soap/body wash around.

Get Beaned!

I picked this up in the Christmas vault of '15, knowing that I already had a very good coffee scrub, and this one would have to be hella amazing to compete. It arrived in it's own box with a sheet of more of their products they make, and greedily I ripped into the sleek black bag.

Good lord. What a stench. I can't even lie and say its pleasant because it's not. Something about it just smells way too funky, but I wasn't about to let that stop me from getting 'beaned' as it says on the back of the bag. This contains so many nice ingredients, like organic coconut oil and cacao, Himalayan pink salt and of course, the coffee. I briefly wondered how I would get the scrub out of the bag until I remembered my stash of Bossy spoons - problem solved.

I scooped some out while I stood in the now turned off shower, and I began rubbing it onto my skin. It was surprisingly soft for a scrub, and even rubbing it on the skin it was rough while remaining gentle. I scrubbed my jiggly bits, the bits I keep hidden with clothes, the bits Fiance likes to pinch and bits I like to flaunt. My hands got a bit sore after a while, like they were being rubbed raw, but gladly I finished and I waited. I used what had fallen onto the shower floor to get the bottoms of my feet and tried hard not to giggle at the slightly tickling sensation.

5 minutes passed and I turned the shower on and rinsed off. I rinsed my hands, and then arms. I touched my arms. I touched my jiggly bits, hell I even touched my bum and holy biscuits and gravy batman. My skin was glowing, and it was soft. And I mean soft, like born again baby soft. I was a huge fan of the Bossy coffee scrub, but now I think it had better watch out - There's a new favorite on the horizon, and his name is Mr Bean.

Tips: This is super messy so do it in the safety of your shower. It will also leave a brown coloring on your skin so if you don't like that go over your body again with a body wash!

Coconut and Mandarin

I'd heard so many good things about Mr Bean Body Scrubs that when I finally got my hands on a sachet, I couldn't wait to try it out.

Unfortunately, Mr Bean Body Scrub didn't live up to expectations for me. Don't get me wrong, they smell amazing and exfoliate well! If you're not a fan of the smell of coffee, then avoid this scrub! Even though Coconut has a slight coconut scent, the coffee smell is overwhelming. Mandarin smelled a lot more like citrusy coffee, but still coffee.

I just wasn't a fan of the very course, dry texture of the scrub and found that it made a huge mess in the shower every time I used it. Most of the scrub ended up on the shower floor, with only a little stuck to me and it ended up "staining" the white shower a browish colour with the oily residue, so that had to be scrubbed with bathroom cleaner and a scourer directly afterwards!

I'm used to using a wet, almost sticky, sugar scrub and this coffee scrub was the total opposite of that. I used it according to the instructions and wet my skin before applying. I then left it on while washing my face and rinsed the scrub off before washing my body with a shower puff and body wash. I found that if I used the scrub after washing, I was left with a 'dirty' looking tan from the coffee scrub and the oily residue would rub off all over my towel.

The resealable bag that the scrub comes in is quite useless and becomes difficult to open when you're in the shower and your hands are wet and getting a handful of the loose mixture out the bag at a time can be quite messy. I chose to empty the bag into an old sugar scrub tub and found that easier to control, as I could just unscrew the top and grab a handful when I wanted to use it.

The scrub did leave my skin feeling smooth and exfoliated and it definitely did improve the appearance of my skin tone (if only temporarily), although I'm not too sure what kind of effect the coffee grounds are going to have on the drain (if they'll eventually end up causing a blockage with long-term use).

I did try to use this scrub in the bath (like I do with sugar scrubs) and it was a total disaster! I ended up sitting in something that resembled coffee soup with coffee grounds floating around everywhere and an oily residue that just lingered in the water and coated my skin. Getting out the bath was another story. Oily coffee residue and coffee grounds just stuck to me, everywhere! If you don't have a shower, don't buy this stuff! I had to jump in the shower after my bath and wash myself a second time just to get rid of the coffee grounds and oily residue. Not fun.

This could be a really great product if two things were improved; if the resealable sachet was swapped for a screw top tub and the formula made to be a little more wet (or sticky) so that its easier to use, spread and massage.

Tips: Climb in the shower and wet your body, turn the water down until it's almost off but leave a little trickle of water. Grab a handful of the scrub and dampen it slightly with a little water before rubbing the damp scrub all over the areas you wish to exfoliate. Wetting the scrub will reduce the amount that lands on the floor and will make it easier to spread and massage in a circular motion. Use a loofah or shower puff and body wash or soap after exfoliating to remove the oily residue.

Coffee Beans

Well I was excited to have been chosen for this product as I'm having issues with dry skin. And yes my skin did feel better afterwards. Unfortunately this was at the expense of time and effort!

This was anything but an easy product to use. The mess and chaos it caused in the bathroom was unreal haha - I'm still finding coffee grinds now! The shower was stained brown as was my skin!! Looked like a bad fake tan! Only took a coulemof scrubs to get me back but time!

The bag looked great. Love the design and lettering layout. It's modern and bright and gives you lots of good info without being too wordy. However once you're wet and trying to negotiate the opening and closing haha we'll have a go!

The fun they promised. well it may have been fun if I wasn't cleaning up so hard.

Tips: Have a huge shower and A sexy man on standby to clean it afterwards.

DO NOT USE IF YOURE ON AN ECO TANK OR SEPTIC - coffee grinds cannot go down into them (something I forgot oooopps)
