I bought this primer as I really like the Rimmel products I have tried so far it was very affordable. I found it to be a bit greasy and made my face quite shiny so I started putting it on a bit thinner. It didn't seem to blur or minimise pores and imperfections, but my skin did feel smoother though. My make up didn't seem to last much longer than it would usually without it.

This primer is alright, nothing awful, nothing great.
I have dry skin and it feels nice and smooth when I put it on. I've used a few different foundations over top of it and they all go on nicely but that's about it.
It doesn't do anything to minimize pores or really make my skin LOOK smoother and I haven't noticed it making my makeup last any longer than it would without it.
It's nice and cheap but now that I've run out, I won't be repurchasing. It's a nice base, but doesn't do the things I want a primer to do!
This is a highly affordable primer with well designed packaging. As it is made to stand on its lid the product is always ready to go when you need it.
The consistency is quite thick. It leaves the skin feeling super smooth and corrected. When it comes to applying foundation it feels like it 'catches' instead of going on smoothly.
My skin can get rather oily and I feel that this primer exaggerates that. If I wear no primer foundation stays ok for a couple of hours, other primers it lasts for the good part of the day, but with this primer it starts streaking and sliding off within an hour. I end up with patches melted off!
If you want an affordable primer I'd recommend Rimmel's Stay Matte over this.
I love this primer, its tinted lightly blue and counteracts my redness aswell as adding a lumi glow. My foundation applys amazingly over top and lasts all day, my pores are barely visible and its really hydrating.
With promises of blurring skin, minimising the appearance of pores, reducing oil and making makeup last longer, I have tried many primers over the past few years. I have never once been impressed. Yes, silicone based primers will smooth out skin, but they get in the way of makeup application, and I have never once used a primer that has made my makeup stay on longer. Primer is a step that I often skip, and a product that I don't often purchase, and they just don't work for me.
I picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer as I was purchasing the matching foundation and a few reviews had said that the foundation applies between with the primer. I have now used this primer with that, and other foundations.
The packaging is basic drugstore. It's Rimmel, it's not fancy, but it works. For $15, I'm certainly not expecting gold glitter. The formula inside is a white lotion, with no silicone feel. It looks like sunscreen, and even has a very, very slight stickiness to it. It applies easily over the face and sits just on top of the skin.
Looking at my skin at this point, I see no difference. Zero. After applying my makeup, it looks smooth and fresh, but only slightly more than it does without the primer. I see no visible difference in my pores. However, a few hours later, and again at the end of the day, I notice the difference. My makeup stays fresh and full coverage for the entire day. It is slightly less oily, and it hasn't rubbed away on any part of my face. I can certainly notice a difference in how well my makeup lasts when I do and don't use this primer.
I will repurchase this primer when it runs out, as I love how well my makeup lasts and the product is incredibly affordable. If you are to purchase this primer yourself, please don't expect it to do anything more than make your makeup last, but you may be pleasantly surprised.
Tips: Wait 30 second after application, before applying makeup. Pat into the skin rather than rubbing.
This was one of my first primer purchases, I hadn't really used primers before and I was hesitant to spend too much on one to begin with.
This came in a white tube with a red screw top lid. I prepared and cleansed my face and moisturised before applying the primer.
It didnt really have any fragrance to it.
The consistency is quite thick a gentle squeeze will get out all you need it comes out white but once you start to spread it out clears out.
Its a nice soft smooth gel type feeling primer. It left my skin feeling smooth and supple a good starting canvas for my makeup.
Both my liquid and mineral foundations went over this beautifully and I do think it helped my makeup staying power.
I dont have too many primers to compare it to but I really liked this product and at such a great price I would buy this again.
This is a great primer for those who want a product to do a good job for little cash.
Packaging of this primer comes in a plastic tube of white with a red snap shut lid and red writing printed on it. The design of the lid allows it to stand on it's lid so that the product settles at that point, this means that the product is ready to go when you need it.
Formula wise, thick and gloopy is the best way to describe it, it has an almost clear colourless appearance that feels a little stiff but once a little has been applied to the back of your hand and warmed up it becomes silky to allow for a smooth application.
I personally only apply this primer to the oily areas of my face by tapping it lighting into where the pores seems to be the most enlarged and find that the primer helps to reduce their appearance by being packed into them and smoothing them out. Mattifying the oily areas and creating a even blurred effect over these areas.
My foundation and concealer also stayed in place all day and didn't transfer or slip from the oily areas of my face. I did find that if you don't warm the primer up prior to application that is created a balling effect, piling on the skin where when rubbed in it lifts back up and rolls over itself. In turn it caused the foundation to not settle as well as it should and even looked cakey which is only a small downer on it but that is application error not product error.
Having used a full tbe of porefessional and deciding that I wouldn't repurchase I grabbed a tube of this when I saw it on sale. I'm glad I picked this one up - and I would definitely grab it again, even at full price. It's easy to apply, and definitel gave my makeup staying power. It doesn't have pore minimising qualities, but personally I don't have noticeably large pores, plus for the price it is, I think it delivers pretty well in other areas.
I purchased this as I have very oily skin and I find most primers just cannot stop my foundation from going oily and slipping off. This wee gem definitely changed things for me. The primer comes in an attractive red and white tube. The primer is white in colour and kind of resembles PVA glue. I found a little of this goes a long way, so considering the affordability of this, you get a lot of bang for your buck. The primer is absorbed easily and leaves the skin tacky for make-up to stick to, but not too moist; I noticed straight away since using this that my foundation stopped going oily and shiny by 11 o clock and I still had no oiliness at 3 o clock (a rarity for me!). My foundation no longer slips or sweats off throughout the day, thanks to this. I've also noticed less oxidation of product on my face. This definitely did what it promised and made my foundation last way longer, it even lasts now through nights of clubbing, which is not an easy task. Overall, this was affordable and ticks all the boxes for me, I'd definitely use this again.
