Its like shimmer cream

I picked up the blush at the makeup bargain sales and paid out $3 for it because I was solely after the colour. If this blusher turned out to be a failure then I wouldnt be crying over $3. This colour is a dark, brown/lightish purple hue and is perfect when you want a strong and intense blush look for night time.

First impression: I wasnt too impressed when I swatched the blusher and saw that it has quite alot of shimmer. I prefer a matt blusher and with maybe a smidge of shimmer because of my acne. I cant afford to have my pimples on display greeting people before I do.

The packaging isnt fancy because its just a plain hard plastic holder but it is very practical and real easy to use on the go. The holder is fully equipped with an application brush and mirror.

Application and texture: After swatching the blusher I didnt have much hope that this would be a great blusher but I was very much mistaken. The blusher is a powdery consistency but when you pick it up with your powder brush its a slight creaminess as you sweep it across your cheeks. I swiped my brush in the holder a few times like I would with my normal powder blushers but it was just too much. I had to start again and re-apply because nobody wants clown cheeks. You only need the tiniest amount of product on your brush and your cheeks will sing in mocha loveliness. Dont swipe your brush, just dab onto the blusher. This blusher is really easy to build up if you prefer a strong and pronounced cheek.

And my favourite part?... It lasts all day! I'm wearing it while writing this review and I'm wearing it for 14 hours with no touch ups. I only need a gentle sweep on my brush during day time. I do prefer to wear this blusher over a mineral foundation or pressed powder as I find the shimmer in the blush is almost eliminated. When I wear a liquid foundation there is some shimmer that comes through the blusher, so your choice of foundation will definitely either pronounce the shimmer or eliminate it.

I have fallen inlove with this blusher, using it for about 2 months now and this go to for night time when I want a strong cheek. I would recommend this blusher and colour to ladies wanting an intense cheek for a minimal and affordable price.

Tips: Your foundation coverage (liquid or powder) will influence the amount of shimmer transfer for the blusher.

This blusher is really intense so start with a small amount and then build it to your desired colour.

LA Girl blush - Shimmer Mocha

I saw a bunch of these at a closing down sale at cosmetics plus. I bought this shade as its darker than most in my kit so I felt I needed it. It has almost a purple hue to it n the pan. When I first opened it I was looking for a way to depot this as I keep all my blushes in a Z palette, my fingers slipped and I gauged two fingers into the product by mistake. In doing this I did notice the texture was really buttery and creamy feeling. Not at all powdery. I hadn't realised there was a mirror and small brush in there as well which makes it great for on the go so I decided to keep it in the pan after all. Great little addition to the handbag. Ive only worn this once but I was very happy with the way it looks on my N2 skin. I don't find it too shimmery and it is very pigmented. A little goes a long way but I found after applying it with a proper blush brush I also had to blend the edges with my fingers. The colour is called mocha which sounds like more of a bronzer than a blush but its not... Its a pretty and feminine colour that's more natural looking on me than your normal pinky coloured blushes. I really like this and will definitely buy another if I can to put in my kit for clients as this baby will be solely for me.

Super pigmented blush

Bought this product on a whim because I'd never tried an LA Girl blush before and was surprised at how pigmented it was and perhaps too pigmented. It has a bit of a powdery finish and the color pops as soon as you put it on so 'a little goes a loooong way'. I would much prefer it as an eyeshadow as it has some shimmer in it. Very inexpensive product so you get a lot for your buck.
