When I was first introduced to Lush, I had no idea what was good and what wasn’t, so when me and my friend did an online order together I was so amazed when the package arrived and I could smell this amazing sweet scent. I was so happy and excited to see where the scent was coming from, only to find it was a product my friend had ordered, not me. And surprise, it was a bar of soap? Not something that I was initially drawn to when I first started buying from lush, but after smelling it... I knew I needed it in my life.
I found this mound of heaven when I went to a physical lush store, and my gosh I can’t believe that even when I saw it, I underestimated it. Honestly, even though it is the most beautiful purple colour, with a slight ombre effect with a dark top to it, it didn’t draw my attention amongst all the other soap on the table such as honey I washed the kids which just had a more special spark about it. It wasn’t until my friend actually pointed it out, and I picked up a slab of soap and smelt it when I realised what it was. I obviously brought some, but don’t ask me why, it took my about 2 months after I brought it before I actually started using it.. Weird I know.
But when I started using, honestly guys! Love. Love at first touch, smell, and lather. If I knew how to write drooling in text without making it look like a typo I would! It smells ah-mazing! Seriously. And I feel like even that is an understatement. Its sweet, but not sickly sweet, it just has a nice depth to it which is warm, sweet, and comforting without smelling tacky and cheap.
In the shower, it lathers up not like a soapy immensely foamy lather, but more like a creamy lather. I don’t know if that makes sense, but that’s what it is and it not drying at all. If I scrape the soap when its wet, the soap has a jelly consistency to it, which could be why the lather is like that.
This item has gone from not even being on my radar, to becoming one of my favourite Lush products. And that is saying a lot because Lush has got some amazing goodies to share. If you like sweet smells, you need to try this! Also, if you don’t like sweet smells, you should still try this because I’m pretty sure it could convert you! I’ve heard this scent is the same as the snow fairy range, and if this is true, I will be stocking up on that when it comes out.
As an outdoors girl and with 4 kids running around I am forever washing hands wether it's mine or the kids so good soap is necessary!
The godmother soap is amazing. It smells like cherries it smells good enough to eat. (I have noticed teeth marks in it so 1 little person has tried) it is a very deep red colour and the texture isn't like your usual soap it is quite soft almost like butter. It doesn't lather up too much I do however find it hard to hold and get a decent grip on it as Its in a cube/square shape but I'm sure this will be less of a problem the more we use it.
This also needs to be stored on a rack to dry as I let it sit on the bathroom vanity for a couple of hours and it did go a bit mushy on the bottom where it sat. It does fill the whole bathroom with the amazing scent it is just delicious
This is such a lovely moisturising soap my hands haven't gone rough or dry since using it and once your hands are dry you get a lovely cherry slightly rose smell and they are lovely and soft. I Don't think I could ever go back to using regular soap after using this
