This was the 2nd palette I bought from Jeffree Star cosmetics. After falling in love with the Androgyny I knew I had to have this palette and I do not regret it!
In the Beauty Killer Palette you have 10 shades, with 3 finishes. Matte, glitter and frosts.
The matte shades are a beautiful silky smooth powder texture that make them easy to blend out on the lid. I use these shades for a base or the crease colour. They can become a lot darker or brighter (in the hot pinks case) if you just add more.
The frosts are a creamy buttery felling. Almost like a wet feel to them. To look at them they have the 'highlight' look. shimmery. These shades along with the glitter shades are bright in the pan but a little dull on the lid and need a bit of work to get the same vibrancy you see in the pan. I find wetting my brush and patting them on the lid the best way to apply the shades or using my finger tip.
The glitter shades are like the mattes but with glitter specks throughout them. These shades are much like the frosts a little dull but workable. These shades however irritate my eyes. They are fine for about 4 hours on then I'm fighting the urge to itch my eyelids. I still use them though! But more for when I'm playing with my makeup. Ideally I couldn't wear them out.
I love this palette! it's such a random mix of colourfulness that all beautifully works together. The pan size are massive! The palette is long and beautiful with a mirror inside, an absolute win!
I was super duper lucky to receive this in the 2017 Beautylish lucky bag. It had been on my wish list for ages with those pretty bright colours.
Packaging wise I love the pale pink palette with gold writing it stands out amongst my collection and it is massive compared to my others. (same length as the naked palettes but wider) it also features a decent sized mirror inside the lid.
When I open it up I am greeted by the most colourful and bright shadows I have seen. It is actually rather daunting to me because I normally stick to nude or lighter colours. The pans are huge!! I mean they are about 3cm by 3cm Quick run down on the colours: Star power is a neon pink and I mean glow in the dark neon pink its super bright. It is a more matte shadow. Princess is very light pink frosted shadow. Violence is a very deep, dark purple and frosted. Rich B*tch is a very metallic gold colour and quite glittery. Courtney is peachy colour and is quite matte. Expensive is a jade colour and metallic. Confession is burgundy colour and is frosted. Vanity is a very dark purple it almost looks brown and matte. China white is a creamy white matte. Black rainbow is jet black and full of rainbow glitter.
Considering they are very colourful I have not been scared to play with these colours and I have tried them all several times. I adore violence, expensive, confession, vanity and star power- yes the neon pink!! They are easy to blend, with the exception being rich b*tch and black rainbow. There is just way too much glitter in them and it is quite chunky glitter. The mattes are gorgeous too, they are buttery and glide on and in no way have I found them chalky. They are SO pigmented they feel and look like high end palette should.
They last all day and only fade minimally. I absolutely love this palette and love experimenting with it. It has certainly been a change from my normal nudes and ‘safe’ looks. I also think It is awesome value for money too with the huge pans I have been using it on and off for a year and it still looks like I have barely used it. Highly recommend.
