Salon Worthy

I received this product as a gift from a beautiful friend of mine, and clearly she knows me well as this product is spot on perfection. This product is applied to damp hair after shampooing, left on for 5-10 minutes before being rinsed out. It is designed for dry, damaged or unmanageable hair - and I have all three!

What sets this product apart from other hair treatments is its packaging and consistency. Most treatments are in large tubs, where the lid must be screwed off before a runny liquid is scooped out and placed onto the hair in an attempt to not let it all run down the drain. The Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm is in a tube which is far more manageable in the shower, and the product is a thick balm. This formula spread easily over the hair, with only a small amount needed, and it remains on the hair, not sliding off and slipping down the drain. It stays in place for 5-10 minutes, working its magic before being rinsed out.

The result is salon smelling, smooth hair. Once my hair is blow dried, (and particularly after it is straightened) it appears much more softer, smoother and healthier looking than when I don't use the treatment. It is more manageable to brush and style and the beautiful salon smell lingers. The results last until the next wash and it doesn't make my hair oily or limp. Although this hasn't repaired my hair, it has given the illusion that it has. Considering how little product is needed, how long the tube will last and how similar the results are to a salon, I consider the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment balm value for money. I wouldn't describe this product as a miracle, but I will be repurchasing.

Tips: If you have the time, apply the product and wrap your hair in a hot towel.

A warm/hot towel helps the treatment to penetrate. This is what they will do at the hair salon if you get a treatment.. plus it just feels super nice, especially in Winter xx

Love the sound of hair salon smelling worthy products at home, will have to be on the want to try list! Why do you suggest a warm towel?

Love!

Recently I got my hair done at my regular hair salon, I was determined to figure out exactly what they used to get my hair so soft. I had been told previously it was just the Joico conditioner but as I watched I saw my hairdresser reach for a 2nd conditioner... Turns out its this product. So after some online researching I brought a bottle to try at home.

After shampooing I apply this to my damp hair, I use a wide tooth comb and come it thru. I let it sit for 5 minutes (I'll give myself a head massage and shave my legs to kill time) then I rinse away. I immediately feel a huge difference in my hair. And once dry it feels so soft and healthy. I can't stop touching it! I only wash my hair every 3-4 days so use this every 2nd to 3rd wash but my goodness, I would use it every wash and am considering it!

My hair is noticeably softer, smoother and easier to manage. My hair texture for reference is long thick-ish, lightened ends (so slightly damaged) and prone to dryness and a little frizz.

It smells pretty good and 250ml goes a long way so is pretty affordable really.

I haven't felt my hair is any heavier or greasier from using this which is great, this tells me it's not too heavy for my hair.

Overall I love this product and will be repurchasing!

Curly hair saviour

I landed on Joico about a year ago and haven't looked back, however when I started using this product my hair truly fell in love. I use it instead of my conditioner and my hair has never felt the same. It's an awesomely hydrating product and I've actually just used the last of my tube so am due to find aanother and I notice a difference using just my normal Joico products. A little seems to go a long way and I never feel like I've got a build up. My hair is curly and prone to be dry so absolutely recommend this for people who have moisture as their main aim.

Tips: If you get greasy easily then you won't like this. I apply mostly to my ends and then work it through the rest of my hair after a few minutes.

Joico Moisture Recovery 5 Min Hair Moisture Treat

I have a 50ml travel sized tube of this. The texture of this like the name suggests is a balm but when you smooth this on your lengths it dissolves to a cream conditioner. The scent of this is a fresh floral sort of scent. I have really long hair so while my scalp is oily the ends are dry. This is a really handy hair treatment that I can use in the shower. I like to use this whenever I need to wash my hair but it's a bit dry at the ends. I did have my concerns since this is recommended for thick/coarse dry hair and my hair is fine and but it hasn't left my hair limp since it all rinses out pretty well. I don't think it's increased the shine in my hair though. I do think a full-sized tube is pretty good for the price since the product is thick I don't use as much as I would with other deep conditioning treatments. I do have quite a few uses left in my small tube but I would consider purchasing a full-sized tube when I run out.

Tips: If I'm going to wash my hair I like to shampoo it first when I first get in the shower, rinse and squeeze out the water then apply this to the lengths and comb through it with my in shower Tangle Teezer. I think even fine hair could use this because when it emulsifies with water it thins out. You don't need as much as you would a regular deep conditioner because the product is more concentrated.

A Hair Miracle

I received this as a gift last week so I thought I would put this to the test. I have heard of the brand Joico before but I have never dreamed that I would get an opportunity to try any of the products. I have been on the hunt for any treatment, oils etc that would make my hair better. The condition of my hair has deteriorated in the winter months. I got to the point that I could not brush it at all. I tried this after my Shampoo and Conditioner. I left it in for 5 minutes and then washed it out and I was stunned. My hair felt super hydrated and it just felt like brand new hair!

I am able to brush through my hair now and it feels silky and smooth. But the main thing it feels healthy! I will be repurchasing this again!

Tips: Leave in for 5 minutes for ultimate results.

Rescued my hair

I suffered with dry hair for about 6-9 months due to changes in climate when moving to Australia. My hair dresser recommended this product and boy did it work!!! It’s been about 3-4 months now and my hair is feeling so much healthier

Tips: A little goes a long way.. you only need a small amount and try not to use too much as it can leave an oily feeling in the hair

Amazing stuff!

So lately my ends of my hair have become dry and frail as i have an addiction to my new GHD. Coincidentally i received this product among other Joico products as a gift and it couldn't of been better timing.

The instructions say to use the product about 2-3 times a week instead of conditioner which i have done. The past week i used it 3 times and i was very impressive. It looks and feels like conditoner, however, its a little thicker. It also smells nice! Goes on nice and isn't a pain to wash out. After my shower my hair wasn't to knotty which was a plus and once my hair had dried the ends very smoother than they usually are.

So i've now used this 3 times and i can truely see a difference in my ends but also in my hair. It's smooth, not staticy or frizzy and is beginning to feel nice again (my ends that is).

I would definetly recommend if your struggling with bad ends, dry or frizzy hair or just want to give your hair a good pamper!

Tips: I find the longer i leave it in the better the results!

Miracle Product

This product came in a gift set with my shampoo and conditioner. I was really excited to try this as I get my hair coloured regularly and when I purple shampoo I never feel a conditioner is enough to restore moisture.

This one is fantastic. I use it after purple shampoo to give it moisture, my hair feels so soft after use. I find this product makes my hair noticeably softer and more manageable. It helps reduce my frizz and keep my hair in great condition.

Tips: Leave it on as long as possible!

Shiny, soft, salon worthy hair at home!

I have gone through two bottles of this and I will continue to purchase this as long as it is for sale.

This hair treatment is in a very generous 250ml squeeze bottle tube which I really like as it is easy to get the perfect amount and not in a tub how many other brands package their treatments. The bottle is sleek and shiny blue in colour.

The formula of the treatment is an intensive hydrating thick balm which melts into my hair, it reminds me of paw paw ointment. The treatment is so lush, it leaves my hair so silky smooth, fly aways are tamed, and this is the only product I have found that gives my hair shine for days on end, I am so glad to have found this affordable treatment that truly works wonders for my hair.

The fragrance is so lovely and lasts on my hair all day, after a 5 min treatment once a fortnight or if my hair is feeling particularly dry and in need of some extra moisture.

Super heavy hydrating treatment

I use the shampoo of this range and thought I’d give the treatment a go. First off it’s super heavy so if you have fine hair or hair that you find gets greasy easily I don’t think you’ll enjoy this product. I’m the opposite of that so I loooovved it! It’s very thick and you don’t need a lot. I shampoo, use this and seal with a conditioner (I’ll tell you why in the tips below). It feels amazing rinsing it out and leaves my hair noticeably softer and less frizzy. I use about once a week. Definitely will repurchase and definitely recommend to others with dry frizzy hair.

Tips: Little basic hair theory from hairdressing school I think everyone should know. Shampoo first…twice. Then follow with the deep treatment. This is because shampooing opens the cuticle to clean it (they’re like microscopic scales that sit over your hair keeping the hair shaft safe) so while it’s open is when you use your deep treatment because it allows it to penetrate into the hair shaft better. After rinsing you follow with your conditioner because this seals the cuticle and closes it to reduce damage and leave your hair smooth. Cool water also helps.
