Recently I got my hair done at my regular hair salon, I was determined to figure out exactly what they used to get my hair so soft. I had been told previously it was just the Joico conditioner but as I watched I saw my hairdresser reach for a 2nd conditioner... Turns out its this product. So after some online researching I brought a bottle to try at home.
After shampooing I apply this to my damp hair, I use a wide tooth comb and come it thru. I let it sit for 5 minutes (I'll give myself a head massage and shave my legs to kill time) then I rinse away. I immediately feel a huge difference in my hair. And once dry it feels so soft and healthy. I can't stop touching it! I only wash my hair every 3-4 days so use this every 2nd to 3rd wash but my goodness, I would use it every wash and am considering it!
My hair is noticeably softer, smoother and easier to manage. My hair texture for reference is long thick-ish, lightened ends (so slightly damaged) and prone to dryness and a little frizz.
It smells pretty good and 250ml goes a long way so is pretty affordable really.
I haven't felt my hair is any heavier or greasier from using this which is great, this tells me it's not too heavy for my hair.
Overall I love this product and will be repurchasing!
I received this product as a gift from a beautiful friend of mine, and clearly she knows me well as this product is spot on perfection. This product is applied to damp hair after shampooing, left on for 5-10 minutes before being rinsed out. It is designed for dry, damaged or unmanageable hair - and I have all three!
What sets this product apart from other hair treatments is its packaging and consistency. Most treatments are in large tubs, where the lid must be screwed off before a runny liquid is scooped out and placed onto the hair in an attempt to not let it all run down the drain. The Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm is in a tube which is far more manageable in the shower, and the product is a thick balm. This formula spread easily over the hair, with only a small amount needed, and it remains on the hair, not sliding off and slipping down the drain. It stays in place for 5-10 minutes, working its magic before being rinsed out.
The result is salon smelling, smooth hair. Once my hair is blow dried, (and particularly after it is straightened) it appears much more softer, smoother and healthier looking than when I don't use the treatment. It is more manageable to brush and style and the beautiful salon smell lingers. The results last until the next wash and it doesn't make my hair oily or limp. Although this hasn't repaired my hair, it has given the illusion that it has. Considering how little product is needed, how long the tube will last and how similar the results are to a salon, I consider the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment balm value for money. I wouldn't describe this product as a miracle, but I will be repurchasing.
Tips: If you have the time, apply the product and wrap your hair in a hot towel.
