I have very straight boring hair, and for years I've been curling my hair with a straightener. I saw this on trademe for about $10 so thought why not, let's give it a shot.
It's got different heat settings but I usually just keep it on the highest one so that it'll curl faster. It's easy to use, and there's a decent amount of space to curl medium-long hair well. The plastic bit at the end of the wand lets me twist the wand with the other hand without burning my fingers off, and makes it less tiring for the hand holding the wand.
I can get nice wavy curls with this, but I find that curls created with a barrel shaped curler doesn't stay for very long. I tried spraying it with hairspray but that made the curls look kind of stiff. In comparison, when I curl my hair with a straightener it easily stays for the whole day, sometimes even until the next time I wash my hair. But the curler is able to get more even curls in terms of size and naturalness.
This would be good for a evening event or something where you won't be moving your head around much. It does take a bit of practice to get it right but overall it's quite easy to use.
I find Remington to have a fantastic range of curlers- I do love a good curler for those occasions I’m wanting my hair to look different.
My hair is naturally thick and straight and certain occasions I just love to have a curl in my hair.
For the price they are easy to use and it’s simple to get the hang of it. The curler is good quality and really lasts. This curler is the 38mm one and they come in different barrel sizes, based on the type of curl you want to obtain and achieve.
It creates really nice curls that last well in my hair.
I section my hair off in different sections and put aside some time to go over my whole head. Such a lovely look with really nice curls. I like to spray some hair spray on and even a couple of days later they are looking good.
It has a good number of heat settings and heats up quickly. It’s very user friendly - mudguards easier than curling with a GHD- I have never achieved that one.
Five stars from me!
