Bio Oil

I first started using this years ago for a seriously big post-surgery scar. I feel like it did help fade the scar a bit, but time has done that also.

I use a few drops at a time and massage it in. It is very oily and does not absorb quickly at all, leaving a film on the skin. I usually put it on before I went to bed to let it absorb overnight.

I keep it on standby in case I want something heavy duty, but if I were to have scarring issues again I would probably turn to rosehip oil over this.

after reading about this and seeing pictures of before and afters in magazines i gave this a ago and its horrible!!!

it goes everywhere and broke me out in the biggest rash which was super itchy!! does nothing it claims to, and its pretty pricey compared to other similar on the market. after researching some of the ingredients arent that great either which i wasnt impressed at

Like everyone, I initially used Bio-Oil in the hopes of preventing stretch marks. I can't say it *absolutely* didn't work - I didn't get stretch marks around my belly button, which is mostly where I applied it - but I did get them very low on my abdomen and round my hips, where I hadn't applied it as religiously. Legitimate correlation or just the way I carried? No idea.

But! Several months ago I started using it on my legs and elbows in the vain hope it'd help my psoriasis. It didn't even claim to help psoriasis, but nothing else was working and I figured it was worth a shot.

Well, it took a while, but my plaques are now completely gone. To be honest, it might have been the strict moisturising regimen as much as the actual content of the moisturiser... but it worked! Smooth elbows for the first time in years.

I've also noticed that a dab on my face helps heal acne scars quickly, as well as being a nice light moisturiser.

I know this stuff's controversial, but I like it... for certain purposes. And as much as it costs, it's cheaper than rosehip oil.

I have been using bio oil now for over 4 months and I have to say that I see very little difference in the appearance of my scar. It was a very pink colour and it's still very pink. It's also a raised scar and the bio oil has done nothing to improve that. It's nice enough as a moisturiser but I'm afraid I've seen no change in my scar or stretch marks either.

I have Bio Oil as I have recently gained some horrific scars that really embarrass me and I can't hide them, I've been using bio oil on them and find it only works when I apply like a cup full and then yet it only lasts a short time, I wish that there was something that really could help but I don't think that this is helping me!

I decided to give this a go as everyone had been telling me about it. It honestly did nothing for me at all. It didn't reduce my stretch marks at all and you can still use the smallest amount and it still gets everywhere. Personally I believe Bio Oil is overrated and there are much better alternatives out there.

I used this product during and after my pregnancy. It did not help prevent stretch marks at all i am covered in them. However after my pregnancy i did see a lot of difference when using bio oil, the catch was i only started seeing results after applying it 3 or more times daily and really rubbing it in for a good ten minutes. I don't like that this product isn't a natural product. I found that places where i had applied bio oil made my skin feel a lot more rough than usual.

Not everyones scars will be magically cleared up with Bio Oil, and for the self conscious mother I am, I used this with both of my pregnancys and the truth of the matter is, if your bodys going to stretch, its going to go right ahead and stretch. I don't even think this product helped reduce the size of the scars at all. I will give it merit for the packaging, that could have been worse. But for the most part, I wasted a good $60 on this with no happy results. The product itself is rather 'gluggy' and just sits on the skin when applied, even after some time of trying to rub it in.

Ive been usin bio oil since forever when i was younger i got burnt with hot sand after awhile t left a masive scar my parents couldnt find anything to get rid of it but then they came across bio oil and applied it to my scar twice a day 3 months later it was completely gone i am grateful that this product does such miracles i can rely on it any day

I purchased bio oil with the hopes that I would see a massive reduction in the appearance of my many scars on my body. I applied religiously twice daily for three weeks and can report that my scars have slightly changed in appearance. I find it hard to say that it reduced the size of the scars as I feel they have just become less noticeable now that they slightly match my skin tone more. Not sure about this one!
