I was stoked to pick up the mint variety for a really good price at Countdown. I love a minty scented lip balm for winter amd this didn't disappoint. I got that minty tingle I was looking for! I was surprised at how well the packaging held up as usually I find cardboard isn't the greatest, but it's pretty sturdy. My one complaint is that it is quite a firm balm and doesn't glide super easily but I can live with that. It left my lips feeling in really good condition and beforehand they were pretty dry from the change of season. Can't wait to try the tinted variety next.

I love this ethical brand and I love their lip balms. My favorite is the peppermint as it's so refreshing but the cocoa is also lovely. I've never tried the tinted but it's the next one I will try.
This lip balm is amazing it has a peppermint flavor which leaves your lips feeling plumped and fresh. It has a maroon/tint that makes your lips look great.
I loved the smell on this lip balm. It was like a lip stick but it was hydrating because it was an amazing beautiful lipbalm. I would recomend this product for anyone looking for a good longlasting lipbalm.
The Ethique 'So Pepped Up' balm is one of my favourites.
The packaging is very modern and compostable. The product itself is lovely. The peppermint isn't strong or overpowering - just enough to be refreshing.
My lips feel nourished and hydrated.
From memory this was about $12 from Farmers.
I will definitely buy this again, and I am interested to try the cocoa one next.
Ah... I've had no success with the shampoo etc. but this is easily one of my favourite lip balms. It was on special in the supermarket and noticed that they had a tinted balm. The packaging is simple. It's a push up balm, not a twist, so push up gently - just enough for application and now more. The balm goes on really smoothly and not too sticky. The tint itself is really natural looking and not over the top 'pink' so it's great for a little colour without looking like you're wearing colour! All in all I just really love it and will be buying again!
I bought the Peppermint lip balm on sale (whoop whoop) and what a great decision! It is slightly different to other Peppermint lip balms I've tried in that it is not as 'sweet' as others, it has more of a natural peppermint scent. It gives a gentle cooling sensation and is very light feeling on the lips. But don't let this fool you, it definitely packs some moisture! My lips feel thoroughly moisturised and soft after use.
Add to this amazing product the eco-friendly packaging and you are on to a winner. I hear the Cocoa one calling my name....
This lip balm is everything you want and more. It’s eco friendly in every way right down to the compostable packaging and of course plastic free. Bonus made in NZ which I don’t know that there are many other tube balms like it.
My one is So Cocoa and I was a little surprised that the actual product wasn’t brown (it’s a natural skin colour) as the packaging is a deep brown colour and with a beautiful yummy cocoa butter scent. I would say the tube is at least 50% bigger in comparison to a Burt’s Bees one so should last you many months at 9g. That’s quite economical even if the counter price is a bit higher than I’m used to. The texture is quite rich, not slippery or glossy and lasts a few hours with no discernible colour - just what you want for a balm to wear at home or before bed. There’s no flavour also if you accidentally taste it.
The tube is completely cardboard including the push up bit at the bottom. I’ve only needed to push it up once in the few weeks I’ve had this but it feels solid enough to last multiple opening/closing on the lid and base. I’ll be buying this one again in another variety and will try also to get my hubby to switch as he’s addicted to Chapstick and there are much better options than that.
Tips: It might feel a bit rough when you first start using it but after a while the edges of the balm soften and smooth over after a few days.
Received in an Ethique mystery box I purchased. I have the pink one NECTAR. Unscented lip balm, not negative but I do prefer a scent. Packaging made of cardboard, no plastic, is compostable.
The lip balm itself is quite solid, not soft and creamy like other brands I'm used to. Not sure if it's a formula thing or a packaging thing. Still useable. Imagine this will last months, maybe even a year which is awesome.
They retail for $30? From memory so is way more expensive than what I usually pay for a lipbalm. However, the company message and ethics are top notch.
At that price point, I doubt I will be repurchasing though.
I was a little disappointed in these. I found that they were not very hydrating and I was reapplying them often. I won’t be buying them again.
