GARNIER'S new BB Cream,  combats shiny, oily skin, by combining the power of ultra-absorbent mineral pigments for an immediate matte look and perfect, even-toned skin.

The oil-free BB cream works in five ways. It reduces imperfections, moisturises, gives skin a healthy glow, delivers a beautiful matte finish to skin and provides all-important sun protection with SPF 15.

GARNIER'S Oil-free BB Cream provides instant results while also improving the skin’s quality over time. After four weeks the results are clearly visible; skin is less oily, pores reduced in size, imperfections are visibly reduced and skin radiance is improved.

It has a  new active ingredient,  Mineral perlite - a powerful volcanic rock extract known for its ultra-absorbing properties.

Mineral perlite is able to retain up to two-and-a-half times its weight in oil and water and is five times more absorbing than talc, meaning any excess sebum is absorbed to fight that oily shine. This combined with uncoated mineral pigments gives the skin an even tone and a perfectly matte finish

GARNIER Miracle Skin Perfector-Oil-free BB cream is available in two shades - light and medium.

Not for me.

I started out using the normal skin one and found it to be quite a heavy product to wear all day. So I switched to this Oil-free version and although it is lighter and it says it is supposed to combat oily skin I found that it was still to heavy for my pimple prone skin. I've recently switched to powder and wont go back. I think it is probably because it still contains an SPF. It would be interesting to see what a product like this, oil free, is like without a sunscreen in it.

A good alternative.

I like this product for use when I want to use something on my face, but I don't want to use a proper foundation. This formula definitely gives more coverage than the original. My skin is quite good, I have a bit of redness and get a few pimples but nothing too bad so the coverage is enough to be like a foundation for me. My sister, who has more problem skin, likes to use this more like a primer under her foundation. It is a very runny formula, which can be difficult to use, but blends easily. I don't think that this is a wonderful product, and I prefer the original for it's ease of use during summer, but it is pretty good, and a good price. One last con is the scent, I found it very strong and a bit like alcohol.

does the job, okay product.

This is my very first BB cream. I tended to stay clear of them because of their sheer coverage. I need more of a medium to full coverage, and most BB creams just weren't that. When I heard about this, and looked up the reviews saying it was more coverage than most BB creams I jumped at the opportunity to give it a try. It does have great coverage, but! I do have to mix a little foundation with it to get the desired coverage I prefer. That being said, I can wear it alone - and it does blur many of my imperfections and makes my skin look great. Blemishes still show through. The consistency is like coloured water. Literally. It runs out of the tube, and will run right off your hand if you even tilt it slightly. So be careful. But it blends quite well. I often use my hands to apply, and finish off with a damp beauty blender. I chose the darkest tone which was medium but was still too pale for my skin. More colour selection is definitely needed. As for keeping me shine free ... umm no! I even set it with a matte powder, and I get shiny after a few hours. Which I can live with I guess. Oily skin gals really look for that miracle product that will suddenly make their skin shine free, just not going to happen. Well, not for me anyways. No big deal, nothing an oil blotting paper can't fix. The packaging totally sucks. It needs a pump! The packing would do, if the stuff wasn't so watery.

Tips: use a beauty blender to cover evenly and definitely apply more then once. Using your fingers would give you a more thicker coverage.

I purchased this a couple of months ago in light. I feel like this is more suited to people with normal/oily skin - not combination. I'm normally a NC30 and this was a bit too light for me, but ok for my winter skin. Unfortunately my combination skin has dry/sensitive spots so this product really accentuated my dry/peeling spots (I know this isn't really meant for dry skin but I didn't want to buy/use two different moisturisers). It did however, look nice on my normal/oily T-zone areas. The coverage was light but sufficient for everyday use. It's very runny so was a bit hard to control how much came out and I didn't notice any fragrance.

I wasn't overly impressed by this, the "cream" is too thin and is really only good for certain parts of my skin. I suspect it will be more compatible with my skin when summer comes around, but it will definitely be too light, so i'll probably need to use it with another product, or I'll just give it away.

Tips: Be careful as this product is quite runny and you don't need to use much.

garnier skin perfector bb cream oil free

I was super excited to be included on this trial. I have used the product daily for several days now and have found it excellent as a base or with moisturizer added into it. I am fair but the colour comes out darker than I suit which was such a shame. It lasted well and gave a good coverage when used on its own. It was quite drying and found it felt quite heavy on the skin. I am thinking perhaps I signed up for the wrong type of cream. It Glides on smoothly and was super easy to apply. Perhaps had it been very fair it would've suited me better. Will persevere and see if I adjust to it or find a better way to apply so it is lighter. Mixing with my usual moisturizer has made it much easier to wear.

Garnier BB Cream

I got the Garnier BB Cream as part of the trial in the shade light. I was really looking forward to trialling the product however I found it was 2-3 shades too dark for me. I wore the products a few times hoping it may tone down after a bit however the product oxidised and appeared orange and streaky after a while. I liked the consistency as it was easy to spread onto your face although it is a lot runnier than I expected it would be. I feel like it would be a really good product if the shade matched my skintone. I did try the product a few other times with both primer and powder over top just to see if it helped. Primer did stop it oxidising, however it was still too dark.

Tips: I would suggest getting trying testers on the product so you will get the right colour.

Garnier BB cream

I really enjoyed testing this product out. I'm still new to most things makeup and only tend to use BB cream on its own rather than with foundation.

The cream was thicker than I first expected, and I wasn't sure that it would match my skin tone at first but it blended out quite well and looked very natural. I used my fingers to apply it, and after a few days and a bit of practice I didn't seem to be using so much of the product each time.

The coverage of the BB cream was great, with all the redness and blemishes covered very well. I didn't even need to use concealer which was quite nice.

One issue I did have was that the BB cream wouldn't go matte on application. I ended up having a shiny face after applying it which wasn't what I wanted. However, it did do a really good job other than this.

Tips: Apply powder after application to get rid of any shininess.

Garnier BB cream

Firstly, This is very runny. I had it kept sideways and it still leaked into the cap a little. Secondly I did like this BB cream (as a sheer foundation, I prefer Asian BB creams for their skincare properties) overall but it didn't seem to dry down to a matte finish on me and was shiny within a few hours. For reference I tend to be on the oily side of normal. The sheer coverage was somewhat buildable up to medium but not likely to do do more than even out skin tone. I didn't find this any more hydrating than a standard foundation and UV protection in cosmetics are usually negligible unless you really pile it on. The scent was inoffensive, somewhere between fresh and alcohol, and is only really noticeable if you sniff it. Unfortunately this BB cream could be rubbed off on a tissue when blotting off oil.

I received the shade light and found that it was quite yellow and (to use MAC's famous system) between NC20 and NC25. At times it did seem like a good match for my NC20, yellow Chinese skin, and at times it seemed a little dark or orange but was sheer enough to not be noticeable.

Overall I found this BB cream to be ideal for days when a quick product is needed or when my skin is fairly even.

Tips: Apply a little at a time in a patting motion for an even finish. Keep the box and store upside down to avoid leaking.

Not The Miracle I was Hoping For

Since receiving my tube of Garnier BB Cream for Oily-Combination skin, I pushed aside my usual routine and decided to give it a good go without priming or setting my face. I received it in the shade 'Light' which I found a little intimidating when first squeezed onto the back of my hand, it isn't the lightest BB cream I've come across and appeared to have an intimidating orange tinge which left me a little anxious I'd be leaving the house looking like I was heading to my job at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory- not a good look!

I chose to apply with my fingers, it went on very smoothly and instantly I could see a difference in where the product had been applied! it just looked like a slightly more flawless, yet orange version of my skin. I chose to buff the product in using a round top kabuki which was really needed as there was a very obvious difference between the colour on my face and my jawline/neck but after a bit of buffing it wasn't as big of an issue. It definitely had a matte finish and although I could feel my face starting to sweat and become clammy, it stayed in place and didn't melt away or become overly shiny. Overall I think this is a great, affordable BB Cream with it's downfall being it's orangey tone that seemed to darken a bit as it oxidised which could be more obvious on my "ivory/NW15" skin tone. I really loved how free from oil my face felt through the day, I think they have that part perfect so if the colouring wasn't off I'd swear by this stuff! I will continue to use what I have as a primer :)

Garnier BB Cream

I’m a huge BB cream fan and am always trying new brands to find my perfect BB so was excited to be part of the BB cream trial.

I received this in ‘medium’. I have warm-toned skin but I found the colour of this has an orange under-tone which really stood out on my skin. The packaging of the product is lovely and sleek, however since the formula is extremely runny it pays not to open the tube with the cap pointing down unless you want to spill some like I did! I’m not a fan of the smell of the BB cream although it isn’t too noticeable, but giving it a thorough trial I gave it a good sniff and to me it reminded me slightly of paint, not exactly a scent you would want for something you are rubbing into your skin.

I first tried the BB cream by itself as directed on clean skin in place of my moisturiser. I applied it using both a damp Miracle Complexion Sponge and a flat-top foundation brush to compare the difference in application between the two. I used the bouncy side of the sponge to stipple the cream onto one half of my face, then the brush to stipple and buff the BB cream in. I prefer to use the brush to apply it as I found it provided a more even coverage of product and used a less product. I found that one layer of BB cream provided light coverage. This didn’t do much at all to cover my redness or any of my blemishes. I applied a second layer and it did give me a more medium coverage which provided a much more even skintone although didn’t do anything to reduce my pores. My skin did feel hydrated which I didn’t expect from such a runny formula, and the finish was pretty matte but did have a few shiny spots. These increased throughout the day and I found as time went on the BB cream transferred a lot, so this counted this method out for me.

Next I tried the BB cream as I would normally use foundation, after moisturising and applying a tone-adjusting primer. I used my foundation brush to stipple and popped a bit of concealer where I needed it, before setting with powder and a setting spray. This gave the perfect matte finish and a nice medium coverage, and the powder helped adjust the colour of the BB cream so it suited me better yay no more ompa lompah!

I found that by wearing the BB cream with primer and setting using a powder and finishing spray, I actually got 12 hours of wear without touch-ups! Really impressed with this. I have tried it without primer and setting spray, just powder and it does last pretty well throughout the day but I still prefer to use the whole shebang with it.

Although this does look great when applied right, I probably wouldn’t purchase this myself because I do prefer a more creamy consistency in my BB formula as I find this works better with my oily skin. The colour of the BB cream itself is also really different to my own and I would prefer to have a product I can wear alone. I would recommend this to people looking to try a BB cream who likes liquid formulas and has really warm-toned skin.

Tips: If the colour of the BB cream doesn't quite suit, you can help adjust it by either applying your standard powder, or mixing it in with your foundation for a heavier coverage.
