La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Iso-Biome Cleansing Cream

Looks can be deceiving. With its basic, not ott packaging, the La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Iso Biome cleansing cream is a nice gentle cleanser. I use it in the shower. It’s not drying on my skin like other cleansers, it doesn’t make my skin feel tight after using. It’s thick but not too gloopy, massages in nicely and washes off well. I have been using it along side the moisturiser and although I don’t have acne prone skin, it leaves mine feeling nice and fresh

I have combination and acne-prone skin and I use this every night. It's gentle and it doesn't dry my skin out. You don't have to use a lot and it lathers well. This large tube will probably last a long time. It has a mild scent that's not off-putting. It was good to be able to trial this for a long period of time so I could see if it dried out my skin, which it didn't.

First hand this product looks simplistic but has lots of words that can seem daunting but the results speak for themselves. There is no major scent to this product so it will appeal to anyone after something subtle to fragrance free smelling. The consistency is creamy and feels hydrating to the skin while removing makeup easily. I need about a pea size maybe slightly more for a good lathery foam and added to my manual silicone exfoliation brush it made a dream team. My skin feels nourished but yet well cleansed. I trialed this thoroughly for 10days and my skin has honestly improved in texture, softness, less visible pores and it's reduced my acne breakouts. I'm hooked on this cleanser and will definitely be purchasing more once it runs out! Go get it!

I found this to be quite greasy, but when I used less it seemed to work fine. I didn't experience any burning/irritation which was nice, and I liked the thicker consistency which felt like a barrier between my skin and my makeup if that makes sense. Though since I have oily skin I don't think I would use this again. Maybe people with dryer skin might find this more helpful.

My doctor recommended this brand as my skin is oily but also sensitive. It's amazing! Skin feels more clean and fresh than with any other product, without drying you out. Good value as you only need a small amount so it goes a really long way. Pleasant on both your hands and face, without any smells which is great for those sensitive to fragrance. Packaging is sleek, looks expensive and upmarket. Would recommend for anyone looking for a daily cleanser that is easy on your skin and your wallet!

This product does as instructed helping with blemish prone skin. However if you are prone to dry skin, i felt that the cleanser left a tight feeling on my skin until moisturising. The cleanser is easy to use with simple packaging. The consistency is thick and easy to work into a lather on wet skin, so you don’t need much product. Meaning the product used everyday would last a while. The scent is fresh, but strong enough to feel like it may irritate more sensitive skin. I did feel like washing off the cleanser required more than usual washing with a wet cloth as the product kept lathering. I am prone to hormonal break outs and i did feel like this product used with the’ Effaclor H iso-Biome ultra soothing hydrating moisturiser’ reduced the redness associated with these breakouts noticeably. I would recommend this product to friends with less dry skin.

So, I trialed this in combination with the moisturiser and yes, my skin has been more hydrated, smoother and less prone to breakout. This cleanser is fine - it cleaned my skin without stripping off all the oil, it doesn't have an overly powerful scent, and it comes in a decent size. I love that you can use it for your body too. The downside for me was two-fold. First, when I used my hands to apply the product, it stung a bit. Just enough to make me ponder what was going on but not enough to cause major irritation. When using my silicone cleansing pad, it foamed up way too much. I ended up alternating application methods (one day hands, the next pad) and I didn't flair up, but it seemed a bit odd given it's meant to be gentle. I'll definitely finish the bottle, but I won't be adding this to my shopping list.

I loved using this cleanser, La Roche have really nailed it with this one. The formula feels lovely and silky, not at all too sticky or soapy. It did a really good job as my only nighttime cleanser and as a follow-up to my oil cleanser. I have fairly sensitive skin and I didn't get any stinging or tightness after using it which was great. My only gripe is that it isn't great at taking makeup off, especially eye makeup. I get that's not its intended purpose, but I do have other cleansers that are gentle and can take my mascara off as well. Not a biggie at all though, I'm happy to use a bit of micellar water first!
