Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal Review

This is my go to Mascara- if I am ever in doubt of what to get or need somethin that will do what it says I grab this. It lenghtens my lashes as well as volumises! i abolutley love it. I have tried quite a few different ones- Revelon, Clinique, MAC- you name it ive probably tried it but this one is the best!!

I am normally THAT girl that can't put on mascara very well. I normally end up with mascara on my brows from messing it up (which looks like I tried to do a special polka dot feature on my face and failed miserably) and I have a strange application technique that involves batting my eyelids to move my lashes over the brush to apply mascara = moving my lashes rather than the brush. Perhaps I have a phobia of mascara? That's a discussion for another day I'm sure.

I do however LOVE this mascara. It's my daily use mascara and only takes 1-2 coats to get really long, thick lashes.

The Unit - The brush is well shaped and easy to manuvere, the container is easy to use and hold in your hand. It's also HOT yellow so easy to spot in the bottom of your handbag or make up bag. Especially when your in a rush.

The Application - Using my "special" technique the mascara glides on easily and one coat of the brush will do an entire eye - top and bottom lashes. Go another coat to thicken your lashes. Don't forget - Let. It. Dry. for multiple coats. If you don't you will end up with a hot mess of clumpy lashes like dying spiders on your face.

The Finish - Long, thick lashes. Go the black for really stand out night time lashes, and the black/brown for day time. The black really pops! I teamed the black with a bronze shadow for night time with black upper eyelid liner and my lashes looked amazing.

I found this really quite good. It didn't clog up and went on smoothly. I did need to use 2 coats however to get the full lash look I wanted.

I've used a lot of Maybelline Mascara's in the past - it's my go-to brand. I couldn't find my normal mascara in the store so thought this was the closest thing. Boy was I disapointed. It clumps, and smudges like crazy. I don't apply a lot but no matter how much you apply it clumps and smudges - so I look like I have a black eye. Definitely not one I'd use again, will stick to my usual Maybelline one. Very disapointed this product wasn't better - I expect better from Maybelline!

I had tried a fair few mascaras before discovering this one and since I did I haven't looked back. I was originally using it in black but now use it everyday in brown or brown/black and I think it's great. It definitely adds volume, the brush is sturdy and it lasts all day when applied correctly. I'm a happy customer :)

First one being Loreal million lashes! I'm not very picky about mascaras so this does it for me. For the price it's fantastic. It gives both volume n length. The formula is a bit thick though. Can get clumpy if more than 2 coats are applied.

Maybelline colossal mascara is AWESOME! love how it creates volum for your lashes with ONE COAT- exactly what they advertise too. I already have long lashes but need volum for thicker lushes lashes and this mascara is PERFECT... i'd say it is one of my top 3 Mascaras :) Gives you clumps though

My cousin gave me one of these a while ago and I didn't expect to be impressed. While I am very picky and choosy about what I'll buy, this is fantastic considering the price. Definitely impressed, though I did find the formula kind if thick which meant I got a bit of clumpyness (that's probably more my fault, I love to apply about a million coats!). I don't really mind the clumps depending on the look I'm going for, but this one doesn't give you a natural looking finish. Having said that, it is meant for volume, which it certainly gave. I used this to go out and I really liked the effect. I'd definitely get this again if I was in need a a cheapie in a hurry.

Tried this a few years ago and was quite excited to receive it as I had not the longest eyelashes. Thought the consistency was great and it seemed to glide on easily, no clumping or flaking. I thought it made my lashes look alot longer and then boom had a reaction to it. My eyes started feeling really itchy and sore so I quickly washed it off, it actually came off really easily aswell. What a shame as I was really liking the look but alias never tried it again.
