OPI Nail Lacquer Review
Reviews
Tips: Make sure you start with a undercoat clear colour so the RED doesn't dye your nails
So when you look at this nail polish in the bottle you see plum-deep red tone. But one coat on the nails and it is a brown/mauve shimmery colour. This one definitely needs a second coat and then its the sort of nail polish that changes in colour in different light! A bit of a different shade, I probably wouldn't repurchase it, but I do reach for it on the odd occasion!
I couldn't wait to get the Chrome OPI! It's safe to say that I'm a nail polish addict.
I brought mine from Farmers for $20 which included a mini bottle of base coat.
The packaging is like all the OPI polishes so nothing new there.
Once I got home and read the instructions, I was disappointed to read that this colour was only meant to last for one night. I wasn't aware of that but never the less, I was still excited to try it out.
The consistency is quite thick and I found it easy to apply. You need to apply two coats as stated in the instructions. My first coat was quite streaky which doesn't normally happen for me so I took more care with the second coat but that still appeared streaky.
Once it was fully dry (around five minutes) I couldn't stop staring at it, I looked like I had mini mirrors on my nails and I loved it! :-)
While doing the groceries later on ,I received a couple of compliments on it too.
My only disappointment with this polish is that it didn't last, not even for the 'one night' as the bottle states. Mine started chipping after 5-6 hours.
Even though this particular polish doesn't last as long as I had hoped for, I'm still really happy with the chrome effect it has as ive always been a fan of chrome and would recommend it if you don't mind it lasting a short while.
Tips: I think this particular polish would be perfect for a night out but definitely not for every day wear.
OPI is by far the best nail polish on the market. It lasts long, goes on smoothly (doesn't leave those annoying bubbles that some of the cheaper brands tend to do!) and they dry fairly fast. Although a bit more expensive than other brands, it is definitely worth it for the value. I found that I was not having to re-do my nails as often as my OPI nail polish remained fresh and without any chips for at least a week!
Tips: Base & Top coats also help your polish last much longer!
These nail polishes are definitely worth the money if you have it! They go on smoothly and quickly and have a lovely texture. They usually chip less than cheaper brands, but of course this tends to depend on what stuff you do with your hands (used to have a labouring job and there was zero point in painting my nails!). But they are awesome polishes and they definitely last! Also, they often have OPI on sale on sale websites such as grab one and NZ sale for super cheap which is awesome.
Tips: Definitely invest in a base coat and possibly even a top coat cos they help the polish last heeeeaps longer!
I love OPI nail lacquers! I am a nail polish addict. I own over 300 bottles of nail polish, so by now, I am able to distinguish brands that are worth buying, and OPI is definitely one of them. The lacquers are chip resistant for up to a week and come in such a huge range of colours, I want to own them all. I really buy only the unique colours exclusive to OPI but there are still so many in that category :P The smell is normal lacquer smell, nothing special there. The names are hilarious, and I love reading them. The polish looks good without a topcoat, but even shinier with them on. I also like how I can buy different textured nail polishes, and how they are now creating cool glitter polishes, similar to indie brands. Overall, OPI is one of my favourite nail polish brands, and I even own an OPI umbrella to support and show my loyalty. ;D
Tips: Basecoat is a must to prevent staining! And if I wear any glitter polishes, then basecoat followed by a PVA glue peel-off basecoat, for easy removal and prevention of staining! Topcoat is not necessary, but would prolong the life of your manicure.
I love painting my nails. I have dozens of little bottles all ranges of colours. But i have always found that nail polish doesn't seem to last. Maybe my nails are a little too oily or something? Regardless nail polish generally lasts me a day or two before it begins chipping and flaking. With Opi nail polish I can point it on and trust it'll last me at least a week! And they have some gorgeous colours (cajun shrimp anyone?) My own complaint is the price. Far too expensive for me to commit to a colour! (However it makes for a good gift suggestion!)
If you're addicted to wearing black nail polish like I am then this is the one you need! OPI is definitely my favourite nail polish brand. This is the perfect black, it's so dark and nice. It was really easy to apply, the formula goes on smoothly and two coats is all you need. Was long lasting and doesn't chip off if you use a base and top coat. This is the only black nail polish you will need, definitely worth the price!
I dont often paint my finger nails as I have terrible nails and tend to chip them easily but I love to have my toenails painted keeping them clean and tidy. I was a little hesitant to spend that much on a nail polish I had been buying the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure's that were a bit cheaper but then I saw this Pompeii Purple and thought it would look great on my tootsies for summer. I made sure I removed any trace of the previous nail polish and then painted them. The OPI bottle is a pretty little glass bottle with a nice long top handle, the brush is an average nail polish brush nothing special. I was pleasantly surprised by the pigment , the first coat was highly pigmented and you could have easily just left it at one coat it was quite a thick formula but not gluggy. I followed up wtih a second coat mainly out of habit. This managed to last me the week before showing any signs of wear and tear (even through changing shoes from gym to work each day). Overall I was really happy with this polish it lasted well and good colour pigment. I will be buying more shades of this for my toes this summer.
Tips: You wont need more than one coat with this polish
OPI nail polish is one I have been using for years. It has a fabulous range of colours and manages to stay in good condition for about 3 days, longer if you use a top coat. It is easy to apply with no fuss and dries rather quickly. The wet look while dry has my nails shining with a beautiful finish that lasts well. I love to try the new colours and finishes that OPI produce and I believe they are market leaders with their products.
Tips: Enjoy the large range of colours that are available, an easy way to keep me feeling great!
