I used revlon colour stay for years. However I did end up with oily skin after the day was done. It was good if I was reapplying it after on in the day.

Tips: Good for drier skin :)
I've always wanted to try this foundation as I've heard so many amazing reviews on it. My favorite foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear and this is said to be a good dupe.
So I got this thinking it may be a cheaper alternative to my normal foundation. Firstly I decided to check findation.com to get my color match then bought it off Trade Me as its half the price.
The foundation itself is really great. It has good coverage (not as good as double wear but buildable) and is a nice matte finish. It applies very well and is easy to blend. It honestly looks so gorgeous on the skin and settles beautifully. It also lasts pretty much an entire day. I was quiet impressed.
Unfortunately the color is totally off! I thought i would just go in and get matched properly and it should solve all my problems. I asked a lady at Priceline (australian pharmacy) to match me. She was the so called beauty expert professional in the store. After trying a couple out on my skin she pretty much said "well I have one that is going to be too pink for you or one that is going to be too dark for you. Which would you prefer?" I was so disappointed! There was no way i was going to spend more money on this if it wasnt a perfect match.
Overall i think it is a good product but didn't work for me. Every shade option pretty much had a pink under-tone even when it was supposed to be yellow. Unfortunately I experience this with most drugstore foundations. I really wish this did work for me though :(
People say this is a dupe for mac foundation and class it as full coverage However I found this more light to med coverage I apply this with a beauty blender and it takes a good 3 layers to get to a medium coverage The packaging is quite nice in a glass bottle with a black lid I do wish it had a pump as I always get way more than I need and find it unhygienic without a pump
I have dry to normal skin and this is fine with not highlighting dry patches I properly wouldn't use it again unless I had to I think here's far better options out there for half the price of this c
After reading all the good reviews thought I would go buy me a bottle. Expensive! Terrible colour choices, I found most we're pink based and I have warm skin so color matching was hard, didn't help when the beauty consultant matched me totally wrong lol my silly fault though. But I did purchase Australis lightening drops which helped a little but now colour looks too grey. Anyway as for staying power on hot days doesn't stay put. So I'm still on the hunt for the perfect foundation.
I have been buying this for years, there was a time that I wore this ever day. That was long before the pump was added to the bottle. The formula has changed a few times now over the years and with it's current formula, this is not my HG foundation anymore. It IS my HG skintone match however, Buff 150, I am neutral-warm, slightly yellow but pale and nothing has ever matched me as well as Buff. I do use it whenever I am looking up swatches to help compare other foundations before I buy them.
I have dry skin but get a bit oily because of anxiety so I usually go for more mattifying foundations so that they will last throughout my entire day when I sweat. This current formula does not last even half a day before settling into lines and becoming shiny even when I use powder under and over the foundation, and a mattifying primer. I have not tried this with setting spray, that is something I am planning on doing in the future.
Tips: I have applied this with both a beauty blender and a stippling brush and both seem a fine way to apply it. If you have an olive skin tone or not foundation has matched you before, definitely give Buff a try!
I had high hopes for this as a cheaper every day alternative to my usual foundation but ultimately it didnt really work well for me. I get very oily skin especially around my nose and this foundation initially was patchy and melted off. After trialing a few different bases under it, I finally found one that worked and it has been ok as an every day foundation for work but I dont think I'll be buying it again after I run out. I found the coverage medium.
Tips: Play around with different primers to find one that works for this foundation and your skin.
Now I know a lot of people swear by this stuff, and at the time it felt like a splurge product for me (oh how times have changed!) but I just don't love it. It sits in my makeup kit alongside my other foundations and sadly, never gets chosen.
I have combination oily skin, this foundation clings to any dry patches like crazy, it does not give me a smooth finish at all and it also oxidizes to a very orange colour on me. I've tried applying it with a brush, fingers and a damp sponge. The sponge definitely gives me the best finish and the brush the worst.
I find it sits really heavy on my skin, it does give good coverage and does last all day as claimed, but not the kind of feel I like at all. I also find it smells really chemically and paint like.
Maybe the formula for normal skin would be better but this one is unfortunately a huge no from me.
Tips: Try getting a sample first, of the oily and the normal.
This used to always be my go to foundation, however I kept getting alot of breakouts all over my face so i changed my brand of foundation and no longer have that problem. It looked nice when freshly applied but wasnt long lasting on my skin, especially the tzone (being oily).
I picked this bottle up in Splashstore sale. I couldn't resist the 70 % off too good to pass. I love foundations and I'm still hunting for my perfect full coverage foundation.
The bottle of this foundation is pretty average crew top lid. I prefer pumps as it's easier to manage the amount of foundation coming out. The consistency of this liquid is smooth . I can't remember what shade I chose at the time. I know it was a dupe for Mac NC40.
With application I find it easy to spread out across my skin. I have a lot of spots and pigmentation to hide. This did nothing to hide. It faded within an hour of wear. I even put two different primers on at the same time to layer it still no good. I've almost finished the bottle results the same.
I'm glad I got to give this foundation a try at an affordable price. I think drugstore make up is too expensive in new zealand. I still haven't found a good one yet. Ive spent heaps now trying to get an affordable drugstore foundation . I'm definately going to save up for a high end foundation.
I LOVE Revlon products but I have found this foundation doesn't last as long as it says it will, certainly not 24 hours. I have normal to oily skin (more normal than oily) and I found by late afternoon I would have to apply powder as it had gone quite shiny and looked a little like it was wearing off (I use a face primer as well). Also if you're after a full coverage foundation this is only a medium I would say. An overall good product but there are better foundations out there if you're after a long lasting all day wear make-up, especially in summer time! :)
