Right off the bat the packaging looks a bit hohum. I get that lanolin comes from sheep but it reminds me of a “tourist” type product. Then when I see it’s a pot. I’m not the biggest fan of a pot where you are putting your fingers in to get the product. I don’t have grubby fingers or anything I just think it’s an efficient way of dispensing a creme. I think it means that the amount you use every time is inconsistent. The cream itself was nice to the touch but I found the granite be overpowering and after using on my face I got a bit of headache. I continued to use it to give it a fair shot but I really don’t think there was any improvements to my fine lines and wrinkle. It did what it said in terms of hydration but it could have been any run of the mill moisturiser. It would last quite a while as you definitely don’t need to use much. Unfortunately not a product I would continue to purchase.

Reviews
I received this product as part of the trial team. I was super interested as I’ve recently been learning about ingredients of cosmetics due to the course I study. Lanolin, collagen and vitamin E are all amazing ingredients for the skin. I have quite young skin so I’ve been using this cream at night because it is a bit heavy. I’ve found a little can go a long way but I also like to put a heavier layer on so when I wake up my skin is so soft. I really like the smell of this product too. I will continue to use this daily and I really like it.
It was a surprise to get an invite to this trial. I had heard of lanolin before in baby / mother products for cracked or irritated nipples. I thought of it to be like a petroleum jelly type of thing. When I got the product I thought the size of product was going to be smaller. The best thing that I have enjoyed from this trial and what really surprised me with the product is it has such a beautiful feminine perfume scent I really enjoy it for this reason. I read up about the benefits of lanolin for skin and it is much better than Vaseline for moisturizer. It has some anti inflammatory properties aswell and helps lock in and retain the skins moisture content giving a protective barrier. As far as smoothing out wrinkles I don't think this really helps but it could prevent new ones from forming. The added collagen I'm not convinced that it penetrates past many layers of skin although I read that the lanolin can. To give the product credit the collagen I. It is the form of which has a smaller molecular size but in general if your taking collagen topically (that is using it in a cream or externally) it's not effective aside from perhaps improving surface top layers of skin compared to taking it internally (consuming it). The texture of the cream is thick and a bit silky but doesn't feel all loaded with cheap hair conditioner agents. Now my daughter has ezemea and she always wants to try my things so I was a bit concerned that this would cause her to get a flare up after she got into especially with the heavy fragrance but thankfully she was fine! In fact I read that laolun is often used in cosmetics aimed at sensitive skin types and can provide some releif from some minor skin irritations. Nice to know this is a parable free product and NZ made. Just keep in mind that if the sheep are exposed to toxins from fertilizers and pesticides it can potentially be in the lanolin I read up that contaminated lanolin can cause hyperpigmentation and was even banned in 2001 but that was not specific to New Zealand sheep / lanolin and happens with alot of natural resources. Bottom line; would I use this specific to treat wrinkles? No. Would I use it again or potentially buy? Yes because the scent is devine! It gives this a luxurious theme. Makes a nice hand and body cream but isn't ideal for acne prone or oily skin types as it can clogg pores I have been breaking out on my face -always had acne. This is nice to put on my chest and havds though. Thank you BR for the nice aromatherapy.
The creme came in a very touristy-looking container with a photo of a sheep on it. It looks like something you would pick up in a souvenir shop. It has a pleasant but overpowering floral scent more suited to a body lotion. I prefer lightly scented products on my face. I tried the creme on my face and on my body. It is thick and slightly greasy feeling. It soaked into my skin fairly quickly and my skin felt soft to the touch. I didn't notice any difference in the overall appearance of my facial skin. I think it is better suited as a body lotion and I wouldn't purchase it if there were other options available.
Tips: Use on the dry skin of your elbows to soften them.
A great size tub of 100g, plastic container with screw lid and another lid cover insert keeps product hygenically clean and spill proof, however I removed the insert as it was a bit of a pain to remove each time. I really like the smell, it's fresh, clean, and the consistency is creamy, thick and smoothes on skin beautifully. I prefer to use this cream on my neck and chest area rather than on my face, my skin is left feeling moisturised, hydrated, while u can't see any difference in the slight sagginess around my neck, I do think my neck appears more hydrated, perhaps I need to keep using it a bit longer to see more benefits.
I've religiously been using this lovely cream on my upper body and hands. It feels great, especially applied in the evenings...waking up to soft skin always feels fantastic!
I have also used it as my moisturiser on my face twice a week, instead of my regular moisturiser..it feels nice..non-greasy..and not too heavy. My only concern is I have read that lanolin-based products are non comedogenic, so am not keen to use as a night cream on my face. The last thing I want is clogged pores lol..I already have a few around my nose, so I'm careful.
Will definitely continue to use on my hands, neck and decolletage in the evenings.
It would make a great moisturiser for my male friends, so I would recommend to them, and also anybody who has really dry skin. Am sure it would help with conditions like excema too.
The packaging disappoints though (its just so old-fashioned, and looks like any other lanolin based product), otherwise it would make a great christmas gift.
Tips: Slather on backs of hands, arms, and decolletage at night...wake up to the super smoothies!!!
Would be nice on feet as well if it came in larger size.
I’ve been using this product for a couple of weeks now and I’ve really enjoyed using it. My skin feels softer, plump and hydrated.
I started using this morning and night as my face moisturiser. I have sensitive skin and have found this cream to be very gentle and have had no reactions. I also have combination oily skin. So I think this would be suitable for all skin types, particularly if you have dry skin. The texture of the cream is very smooth, definitely on the thicker side. However despite the cream having a thick consistency it sinks in to your skin quickly and feels very light on your skin. It doesn’t leave a film on your skin or leave it feeling tacky. I’ve worn makeup on top of this cream and have had no issues.
The cream has a natural floral scent. It’s subtle and not too strong. The cream comes in a tub, and although I prefer a pump for moisturisers as I don’t like dipping my fingers into a big pot of cream, I think this is the right packaging. The pot makes it easy to get the product out given its thick texture.
I love that this cream is New Zealand made and also organic. Overall I really like this product and would recommend this to someone looking for a super hydrating face cream while not leaving your skin greasy.
I was really excited to try the lanolin collagen cream, as I'd heard so much about it. The first thing that hit me was the smell, it is quite strongly perfumed and smells floral and very clean. If you're very sensitive to smells, this may not appeal to you, as it is one of the stronger smelling creams that I've tried. The texture is more on the firm side, but glides easily over the skin and sinks in quickly, leaving no residue or stickiness. It feels great on the skin and leaves it feeling soft and well hydrated. I also believe that my skin felt a little firmer with it but am yet to notice any change to fine lines - but it is still early days. I also haven't had any breakouts since using it, which is highly unusual for me! Overall, I'm very impressed with this cream and will definitely continue to use and likely repurchase it, as it works well for my skin and leaves it feeling beautiful and soft.
Tips: I use it as the last step in my skincare routine.
If you're sensitive to perfumed products, this may not be the right product for you - everyone else I highly recommend trying it (and it smells lovely)
This cream comes in a white pottle - lanolin is clearly the selling point because there's a big sheep on the packaging! I used this cream in the evening after serum. I have skin that tends on the dry side and so I really wanted to like this cream and it's promise to boost skin softness and hydration as well as reduce signs of aging. However, I really didn't. The biggest drawback is the fragrance - this cream is heavily fragranced. I really didn't enjoy the fragrance - it reminded me of a drawer full of nana's creams in the 1990s. The cream does feel quite nourishing when you put it on - it's quite thick. Without the fragrance, I think it could be a good night cream.
I was very luck to participate in the trial for Alpine Silk Nourishing Collagen Crème with Organic Lanolin. Thank you BR.
Alpine Silk Nourishing Collagen Crème with Organic Lanolin comes in a small box decorated in NZ Landscape with a sheep. Inside the box is a 100g pottle, where the packaging theme has continued. The pottle has a screw top lid.
Seeing this packaging on a shelf, would not draw me in to purchase.
Alpine Silk Nourishing Collagen Crème with Organic Lanolin is a white creme which is thick in consistency and has a light fragrance which is not unpleasant.
When applying a small amount of the Alpine Silk to my face, I gently rubbed in until absorbed. I found the creme too thick for my face, so I tried it on my hands, arms and legs instead.
My skin feels super silky, and I no longer have dry elbows. You do not need to reapply during the day.
