I have only ever used Lanolin while I was on my breastfeeding journey, so I was excited to try this, collagen AND Vitamin E. Sounds amazing.
Upon receiving it, my initial impression was that it seemed somewhat touristy, not the type of product I would typically choose. However, I'm so glad that I gave it a chance. The cream is thick and white, with a subtle sweet fragrance that's far from the sheep-like odor some lanolin products have. My hands have been incredibly dry, resembling those of a 90-year-old, so this product had its work cut out for it. It turned out to be highly moisturising and didn't leave a sticky residue; it absorbed exceptionally well, leaving my hands super soft.
I even decided to try it on my face, although I was initially hesitant due to its thickness. To my surprise, it left my skin feeling incredibly soft and well-hydrated. I couldn't resist touching my face, and it worked well under makeup, too. I've noticed a positive change in my skin; it's no longer as dehydrated, and I'm looking forward to seeing the results after using it for a month or so. :)
The last time I used Alpine Silk Lanolin Cream, I was a fresh-faced teen who was far from needing the magic benefits this product promises. I do remember it smelling a little unpleasant then, so I was really keen to see what had changed.
The packaging is similar but revitalized and refined so it looks modern and clean and makes me very happy to have it on display in my bathroom. Upon opening, I was so thrilled that the unpleasant and vague woolshed-aroma of has been replaced with a very pleasant and subtle floral scent.
There is a reason this product is still around all these years later. It delivers on what it says it will. I used it on my face, neck, arms and hands. A little seems to go a long way. It absorbs well, and my skin felt hydrated until the following day. I especially loved how much it seemed to soften the skin at my elbows and smoothed my hands. I didn't notice any softening of the lines on my face, but that might require something with a bit more oomph at my age :)
The price point is very accessible and it seems to be available in many places, meaning this product has found a place on my keeper shelf.
Tips: I found this product especially great for the neck and decolletage areas.
