I squeezed in two uses in the review timeframe as I’d just had my hair coloured (foils) and I wanted to see how performed after the colour had settled. Both times it left my hair soft and shiny and the colour was great, no brassy tones. I felt the second time I used it the shampoo didn’t spread as well, I felt I need to use more product than I normally would. The only issue I had with it was the colour was so strong it got under my nails leaving them looking dirty! Can’t comment on drying my hair out as I’ve been using Olaplex

I was very impressed by this product, it had an instant effect on my hair after one use! My highlights were brighter, yay!
Tips: You don’t need to use very much!
I really enjoyed using this regime - I was surprised a supermarket shampoo could leave my hair looking and feeling so good!
The shampoo is very thick - you'll need less than you think. It's non drying and lathers well. It definitely tones down yellow hair - I have white blonde hair that yellows quickly, so I purple shampoo once a week. The results of this were on par to my usual spensy product!
The packaging is nice an it smells lovely.
You really can't go wrong at this price - the results are worthy of a much pricier product.
Tips: Team with the matching conditioner!
I only managed to use this once in the review period however for the first use I found it to be good, my blonde did appear brighter. You don't need much product to create a good lather the smell was nice and price is very reasonable. Great to be able to purchase easily from the supermarket.
I was pleasantly surprised by the shampoo Pros -smelled great, -cute purple bottle (which would be easy to spot on supermarket shelves) -affordable - hair feels lovely and weightless after the first wash - does what it claims and reduces brassiness
Cons - not dramatic results in reducing brassiness although I’m comparing it to Kevin Murphy’s range so this is a good affordable alternative - only available at New World and Chemist Warehouse, I shop at Countdown so hopefully they expand where it will be available
Great and affordable option. Smells fantastic and leaves hair smelling fragrant throughout the day.
Nice texture, easy to get through your hair. some brands leave hair feeling quite dry this one doesn’t.
Wasn’t a big difference in my brassy tones but there was a slight effect and with regular use I’m confident it will show fantastic results. Would defiantly continue to use as a much cheaper option than the fanola brand I currently use.
Tips: Put the shampoo in dry hair for a more dramatic result
My first impression was that the bottle was really small - it's 200ml, but feels dinkier.
It smell pleasant - its not an identifiable smell, neither fruity, nor fresh. Just standard hair care.
This purple shampoo is very very purple. It would be a bit staining if you got it on dry surfaces.
This shampoo is fantastic. For starters it lathers well , a rarity with toning shampoos! And it doesn't knot my hair while I'm using it! The deep violet really does remove unwanted yellow tones.
My hair didn't feel dry at all after using this.
After using both this and the conditioner my bleached hair is easy to style and left shiny, soft and frizz free, with no yellow in sight!
Tips: If you need major toning - apply dry!
Wet the shower first to avoid staining.
I was really impressed by this product (and the overall effect coupled with the Purple Shampoo). Unlike other purple shampoo's I have used in the past the consistency of this product was shiny, thick and quite jelly-like rather than being overly silky etc. It had a nice pearl sheen to it but maintained a bright purple colour. I used approx. a gold-ball size amount of product as I have long, over the shoulder length hair. I was impressed with the lather and result of the shampoo at actually cleaning my hair as a well as brightening it. I enjoyed that the shampoo only needed to be used weekly as I felt that results were noticeable! I may have enjoyed the product more if it had been a pump-lid but otherwise the overall aesthetic of the bottle was pleasing.
Tips: Leave the shampoo in for at least 5minutes before washing out throughly & then follow it up with the conditioner
As a natural brunette gone blonde I always struggle with brassy undertones coming through. In the past I have found purple shampoos drying and make my hair brittle but this product does not do that. It leaves your hair feeling hydrated, toned and even smells amazing
Tips: Lather it up in your hair and leave for a few minutes to ensure it works best
Loreal's Purple Shampoo is amazing, super happy and lucky to have trialled it and will happily continue to use it. It doesn't stain my hair/ hands or shower walls unlike some other purple shampoos I've used in the past, it leaves my hair feeling soft and not rough nor clumpy and removes brassy tones with ease. Great packaging and price! can't wait to re-buy soon!
