When you first take the applicator out of the tube, the sweet scent of velourlips fills the air. The smell reminds me a lot of the 'Nerds' candies I used to eat. The colours are as shown in the tube, they are opaque and the doe foot applicator means you can create a bold, defined lip easily. The staying power is also amaaazing! I wore this to a dinner where I had burgers and drinks, came home to find that my lips were still the rich red (NY-CEE) colour that I'd left the house with. Definitely worth the price, I'll be buying a lot lot more in the future.

Australis Velourlips Matte Cream
What is it?
Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.
Time for a change from gloss! It applies creamy, lasts all day and finishes with a soft suede look.A matte lip cream that moves with your lips so you don’t have to worry about caking and flaking.

Tips: Apply lip balm before using velourlips as they can be a bit drying.
Don't layer this lip cream as it begins to crack, you won't need to layer it since it's so opaque anyways!
I brought two of these and personally i hate them. They are so drying and show every single line on my lips, wouldn't go out and buy again. They are extremely pigmented but that's all i could say was good about them. I really wanted to love these but i just cant :(
It applies just like a gloss, gives full coverage, a long lasting colour payoff, and best of all... dries matte!
Matte is very IN at the moment, this is my 'go-to' product for everyday wear and going out - it's so easy to apply and you don't have to worry about retouching all the time.
Flawless finish everytime! The range of colours are to die for!
Tips: Always swatch the colour on your hand to make sure it suits your skin tone! The bolder the better!
Use in conjunction with a lipliner to give a more clean, flawless finish.
This velour lips was my first experience trying Australis. After seeing many fellow Beauty review members posting beautiful pictures showcasing this matte liquid lipstick I needed to have a try of this.
The colour I chose is Ny-cee. It's a vibrant red. This liquid lipstick comes in this tube. This velour lips is down one side of this. It has this lace work around the top and bottom of this. The texture of this is a normal liquid consistency. Has a slight berry scent to it.
On application it's like a gloss. Within minutes it starts to dry. With the first application it's quite streaky. I add a second layer and possibly third layer depending on how it looks. I found the colour to be vibrant.
My results were very good using this. It lasted me a whole day with eating and drinking. If your wanting hydration I would add a lip balm underneath as a base. I prefer it dry.
UPDATE: I have had some issues with streakyness.I notice that these startto become streaky and a bit gluggy after a certain amount of time. I believe shelf life be up to a year and then issues start happening. This does require layering. I probably wouldn't buy this again after having a few issues with this.
Tips: Make sure you use a lip scrub before applying this as it will show dry spots on your lips.
I've only tried 2 colours, Hon-o-loo-loo and Rio-D (bight, bold, orange!). I found the pigmentation and lasting power of both to be amazing, they lastest all day, with only one touch up needed after lunch.
I find they have a true matte finish, without much tackiness, which I love! I can't feel them on the lip so I can wear it all day without getting annoyed.
Tips: I always use a lip scrub before use and it can show dry patches
I purchased Velour lips in 'Pa-ree'. I was after a nice everyday nude and this definitely hit the mark. It's highly pigmented and you only need one (maybe two) applications. It goes on like a thick lipgloss but dries up into it's matte finish. You have to make sure your lips are really exfoliated and soft beforehand as it tends to show up any dry patches or cracks really obviously. It has excellent staying power but will need reapplied when eating and drinking.
Tips: MAC's Sublime Culture lip liner is a good match for Par-ee
This product does not agree with my lip type. I have very dry lips naturally and find this lip cream almost impossible to use. I find it hard to apply to my lips as the product goes on very streaky and uneven. I also find this lip cream to be awfully drying to my lips. When the product dries it has a sort of cracked appearance on my lips.
The good side of this lip cream is that it is extremely pigmented. The staying power is amazing so amazing that I find it almost impossible to remove this product from my lips. This product is still super vibrant and opaque after hours of wearing it, even when you eat and drink this stuff does not budge.
Tips: This is probably an awesome product for someone that does not suffer from dry lips. The staying power really is unbelievable but I prefer the NYX version as it is super smooth and hydrating.
I was lusting over these for months until I finally brought myself some for Christmas, I was so obsessed with the pigmentation and the shades that I brought one each week.
They are heavily pigmented, and you need to exfoliate your lips before applying these because when they dry, you see every imperfection underneath. I like how you don't have to line your lips with lip liner when you wear these which cuts the time in half.
The matte creams are smudge free but you cant wear them for more than 2 hours before they are too drying. If your looking for longer wear I apply a lip gloss over the top which stops the cream from drying as quickly.
I have also noticed that the ones I first purchased have dried out a lot compared to the ones I recently purchased. The formula ends up more like a thick cream that is harder to apply. The only shade that bleeds once it is applied is Doo-bai, the rest of the collection do not bleed.
The new shades that have been released : Buda-pash, Doo-bai and Shang-hai feel like a different formula. They are pigmented but if you touch your lips on anything, some of the colour comes off. The other shades don't transfer on to anything.
i do like the color range but damn after an hour of this on i found my lips were suuuper dry and the center of my lip was so faded i had to reapply and then because of that my lips looked to cakey with color :/
I have this in the colour Pa-ree and I'm not 100% sold. I love the creamy application and the matte finish but I found it really drying. I personally have to use another product on top of this (lipbalm usually) to prevent my lips from drying. The staying power however is great and will usually last me through the day if applied before work.
