After I told her I had tried Chi Chi's matte liquid lipstick and loved it.
I HATED this. It was super gluey, flakey and didn't dry very well. The pigmentation was blotchy and I really wouldn't recommend this whatsoever.

Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.
Time for a change from gloss! It applies creamy, lasts all day and finishes with a soft suede look.A matte lip cream that moves with your lips so you don’t have to worry about caking and flaking.

Tips: If you are after amazing liquid lipsticks I highly recommend MUA's Velvet lip Lacquer or Chi Chi's Matte liquid lipsticks.
I have tried two shades of this and was not a fan. They flaked on me, and also I did not enjoy the 'velvet' feel of them on and felt as though my lips were furry or mossy!! Not a feeling I enjoy.
I have this in the shade MIL-A-NO. It's a beautiful peachy nude. I was immediately drawn to this shade as I wanted something that was easy to wear and would suit most makeup looks.
This comes in a see through tube, which is good so you can immediately see the colour. It has a screw lid and it's never leaked at all on me, I've had this for over a year. This has a slanted doe foot applicator which collects a good amount of product at the tip so you don't have to keep dipping it in to get the right amount. For me, this is where the good points end. I hate how this sits on my lips. I find it so hard to get some kind of even finish. It just looks terribly patchy. I've tried putting balm underneath which helps to lessen the patching but it is still noticeable. Once on my lips, it feels weird once it dries down. Not quite tacky and not overly dry, just weird. I really can't comment on how long it lasts as I can't stand to have it on my lips for more than 10 minutes. I hate seeing how caked it looks so I just wipe it off. I've tried it about 10 different times but I am now giving up. Possibly just this shade sucks as I know people love these lipsticks but I am not keen to try out any other shades after using this one. I'd recommend spending a bit more and getting a better matte lipstick, I personally love LA Splash.
The consistency is very thick, it can be patchy and streaky and doesn't layer well. It is very drying on the lips ( more than most liquid lippys) and has an uncomfortable, almost furry, texture. After little more than an hour it will start to crumble off in the middle of my lips, even without eating/ drinking. on a positive note, it is affordable, the colours are quite nice, and has a nice smell.
Tips: I put a bit of lip balm or a not-so-matte bullet lipstick in the same shade just on inside edge of my mouth- this prevents the liquid lipstick from cracking and crumbling, improves the texture, makes it more comfortable and it seems to last longer too ( and easier to re-apply)
I got the Australis velourlips in the colour mal-i-boo free with a magazine. I had only heard about velourlips on one of the Facebook beauty pages , but in saying that i hadn't really thought about buying them. Im glad i didn't spend my actual money on it. So many people love these but for me Mal-i-boo is a hard colour to pull off being a bright matte pink and defiantly is not my colour, the packaging is girly and simple. The consistency is thick , fast drying and the smell is very sweet like candy! The actual product just did not work for me , no matter how i applied the product with the doe foot applicator which may i add was very easy to use, it just looked cakey then started flaking after around five minutes ! What really annoyed me was when i put more on it cracked and flaked off my lips even more and just looked so yuck that i had to wipe it off ! Im unsure of the reason it looked so yuck maybe it was because i have quite dry lips. Although i did use a lip scrub and lip balm before hand and it still didn't help. I have thought about repurchasing the nude colour but i don't think it would be worth it just in case it did the same thing as Mal-i-boo. I really wanted to love this product but sadly i did not :( Although i didn't like it , i have a friend who has all the colours and loves them so i would recommend to a friend as it may have just been my lips.
I love the colours of these but they just go so down hill so fast! I used the red when I went to a hens night and it came off on the glasses when I was drinking and then when I went to touch up it went soooo tacky and gross I just ended up wiping it off and it just stained my lips really bad. So over all, for wear if your not going to want it to last very long then its good
This product does not agree with my lip type. I have very dry lips naturally and find this lip cream almost impossible to use. I find it hard to apply to my lips as the product goes on very streaky and uneven. I also find this lip cream to be awfully drying to my lips. When the product dries it has a sort of cracked appearance on my lips.
The good side of this lip cream is that it is extremely pigmented. The staying power is amazing so amazing that I find it almost impossible to remove this product from my lips. This product is still super vibrant and opaque after hours of wearing it, even when you eat and drink this stuff does not budge.
Tips: This is probably an awesome product for someone that does not suffer from dry lips. The staying power really is unbelievable but I prefer the NYX version as it is super smooth and hydrating.
To be fair I only have one shade but it is not a good colour at all for me. The actual formula is really thick so it can be hard to apply at times. Personally I have very dry lips so matte products generally don't work for me. It is very drying and crumbles off during wear.
I think that australis is a good brand as a whole but this is definitely not their best product.
I first heard of the these whilst watching a YouTube tutorial, I then found out that they were free with the (then) current issue of Girlfriend magazine! So what did I do? I went out and bought three copies of Girlfriend magazine. It must have a been a great month for their sales as I know I'm not the only one who did this! Hah!
I ended up getting Maliboo, Tokio & Rio-D as I couldn't find the other two colours (I really really wanted Ny-Cee!)
These things are BRIGHT. Ultra violet bright. They are stunning colours & they look beautiful with a flawless face - think simple smoky eyes & glowing perfect foundation. I did end up purchasing Ny-Cee when they became available in stores a couple of months later & it is my favourite of them all. It's a beautiful deep red that looks so classic & classy.
They dry really quickly, they are a true matte & they do not budge. At all. My only gripe with them is that they can flake. Unless you have perfectly smooth & exfoliated lips to begin with then you're going to end up looking like a hot mess as the day goes on. The trick I've found is to apply as little as you possibly can. You need make up remover to get the product off so if you make a mess during application then you're going to be in trouble!
UPDATE! - I really do not like these at all. I can't handle the fact that they peel and that you cannot get them off unless you use makeup remover! I can't change my lip colour at all as it ruins the makeup around my mouth when I try to remove it =(
Tips: Take your time applying & don't re-coat during the day!
This was the first matte lip cream I tried and I was so disappointed because I adore matte lipstick. This was thick, cakey, streaky, dried to a fully matte finish - not velvet in my opinion. It did not move with my lips, in fact it cracked and flaked. I tried this various ways - on bare hydrated lips, over lip balm, with a lip brush for sheerer layers, over lip liner, nothing worked, it was the same each time. Very uncomfortable to wear. I have since tried 2 other matte lip cream products that are much better than the velourlips.
