Iv'e tried many liquid to matte lipsticks and I find the velour lips average in quality. They do tend to take a while to dry on your lips so its kind of annoying applying but other than that they are good for the price. My velour lips just sit in my collection and never get used sadly.

Reviews
its very much like the lime crime velvetines except much cheaper, alougth it appears to be very few colors atm they are still great
Tips: dont over apply otherwise your lips will get cakey
Maybe the hip of this got a little too much for me. Its okay, the consistency is great and the smell is amazing but with the consistency its easy to over apply which makes it prone to cracking. Its quite drying so a lip balm is a must. I have the shade pa-ree and if you have an olive/tan skin tone like me, it can wash you out. This doesn't go well with food and drink, you're only gonna wear this if you're going to the supermarket, because you can't just reapply, you have to remove the whole thing if you wanna reapply
I have the pink one and the purple one. I love the colours, the colour payoff is amazing to say the least. So bright and opaque. The colour does last for ages so you're not having to re-apply. However they are very drying and the purple one just made my lips more chapped. I might try with a lip balm underneath and see how that works for me.
If your not wanting to pay top dollar for a lipstick that is going to give you a look like a lime crime velvetine then this is your lipstick.
Very pigmented and beautiful bold and bright colours. Long lasting if your not drinking or eating all day i find it comes of when you eat or drink which is pretty standard but when you go to reapply i find you need to take the last layer of completely before adding more as it goes patchy or cracks
Tips: to minimize dry lips use a primer before hand or a light lip balm enjoy xx
I purchased the Velourlips in Par-ee a few weeks back after reading all the glowing reviews on it. Unfortunately, although it applied nicely on the lips, the end product was far too dry for my liking, even if I exfoliated before I applied. I've since learned to apply a very light coverage of a lipbalm before I apply the velourlips. It still remains matte, but with a creamier feeling on the lips. It stays in place for a long period of time and doesn't budge even when i drink or eat. So at the moment I am still undecided if I love this product or not. It definitely lives up to its description, but I'm not sure if it's the one for my particularly dry lips.
Tips: Use a light coverage of lip balm on drier lips before application so that it's not so drying and chalky.
I got this product free from work in the colour MALIBOO (hot pink) as they were freebies on magazines and we didn't sell all of the magazines. Score!
I had heard great things from Shaanxo (YouTube beauty blogger) and so was more than happy to try it out and see for myself how vibrant and long lasting they were.
I absolutely love the colour. It is one of the most vibrant, true to colour lip stains I own. It looks exactly the same on your lips as it does inside the tube which I love!!
Although the product is definitely longer lasting than most lipsticks after eating and drinking, I found that it didn't last a whole night out, maybe 2-3 hours at most, and it starts to flake, dry out and just look horrible, so I would have to reapply the lipstain after a few hours of wear.
However, I have used this product many times because I absolutely love the vibrancy.
Tips: Scrub your lips and apply a balm lightly, letting it absorb completely into the lips before application to avoid a flaky, dry look before due course.
I have two of these in the shades maliboo and Tokyo. The colours are amazing and are totally matte. However I found that over time the colour would flake and little bits would crumble, particularly from the middle of my bottom lip after eating and drinking. Due to the nature of the product this would leave big bald patches with no colour. The applicator is perfect for the job, packaging is fine but looks a bit basic.
Tips: Apply sparingly, use a lip conditioner first and don't go too slowly as it dries very quickly
Everyone's been raving about this, so I really wanted to love this product. I have tried and worn all the shades, and the positive I can say about them is the lovely velvet-y matte finish and the staying power - it definitely lasts a whole night! However, none of the colours really work for me - I'd love to see these in some darker/more wearable colours, like browns and plums, like Lime Crime has done. Also, the matte finish means these can look and feel a bit dry. They are also super pigmented, which is idea for night but not necessarily for daytime or work.
Tips: Try wearing lip balm underneath and topping with gloss for a less dry feeling and to tone the colour down a bit.
The pigments are amazing, the stay put and definatley go matte. Everything the product is meant to do.... But it's the problem also. Hard to remove and they are so matte the make your lips very dry. If you have cracked or slightly dry lips steer clear these will only emphasis them.
Tips: I use the Rio-D Velour lip (Bright orange) over top of my Mac Snob lipstick to create a beautiful coral colour
