Some may find the concept of this product confusing - or like the product isn't useful. However, as someone with sensitive skin and rosacea, this product works wonders. Avene is known for its gentle products, with safe ingredients that do not irritate the skin. I was recommended Avene over a year ago by a pharmacist. The thermal spring water is perfect for any days when your skin is irritated or inflamed, warmer weather, after the gym, or whenever you want to feel fresher. The spray is a fine mist and dispenses a great amount - not too much and not too little. It feels cooling on the skin, makes me feel fresher, and quickly reduces any signs of redness or irritation on the skin.

Tips: The pharmacist also recommended not too shake the can. As this can disrupt the active ingredients.
I love this product! I use it for so many things such as cooling my skin down when hot or sunburnt, after a hot shower to help soothe my skin and close pores and I even spray it on after shaving to soothe my skin. Its affordable and comes in different size bottles which includes a small purse size!
Tips: Pop it in the fridge for extra cooling power!
This was a godsend through the hot summer days as cool and refreshing spray that soothed my sandy and hot skin!. Not exactly on label uses but it was also 'borrowed' by my son who feels it is excellent to wet his hair jut enough for perfect styling.
Next time I would buy the smaller tin as the large is quite tall and doesn't fit on my shelf.
A friend’s mum (who always looked immaculate) used this to set her makeup on, I went and bought it originally as a setting spray - which it does. The mist doesn’t smell like anything and it comes in a variety of sizes. I used to take the small one in my handbag, perfect for traveling or holidaying on a hot summer day.
It doesn’t really “soothes, softens, and calms” my skin as it’s being advertised for.
For the price I prefer to buy those water that’s scented with aromatherapy oils instead.
I really enjoyed using this product during the years I did.i generally have very red skin especially after cleansing. This would calm down my skin and make it ready for moisturising.
Tips: Spray on after cleansing in replacement of a toner
I picked up a couple of these bottles while they were on sale and have to admit they are very nice to have on hand. However, I'm not sure if I would pay full price for them.
I have one bottle in my car for when I'm doing work outside and one in my gym bag. It's a great way to quickly refresh and help with redness. On hot days, it's an absolute life saver and my partner has started stealing it out of my bag to use at work, too!
Best toner hands down, even my big burly partner uses it. I got it to help my sons eczema and now it’s a firm favourite. Great to help refresh the skin, prevents itching, softens the skin on my arms which is prone to small bumps and helps soothe my sons dry skin. Affordable for the benefits it gives and love the backstory of where it all comes from. Highly recommend
Tips: Use after cleansing as a toner
i used this when my skin had serious irritation and this soothed it well ,the mist is very fine and gentle ,but you do need to pad it dry after you spary it or it will dry your face alittle bit ,for super hydrating its not enough .
I nipped into life pharmacy for some cream for my son after his wee face met the concrete but instead I walked out with this.. It seemed a better choice to put on the skin with less ingredients and also with the fact it lets the skin breathe to heal.
I have also used it too.. as selfishly I wanted something like this for my delicate skin after I had used up some of my other sprays.
This is so soothing and refreshing on the skin - I haven't had sunburn for a long time and hopefully I don't ever get sunburn in my life again.. but if I do this will be one of my skin saviours. It has been great to have on hand for my face on hot days etc.
For my son I wanted his face to heal so I didn't want it clogged or covered in a barrier and he wanted something for that inflammation and burning feeling.. this was a great alternative to the icepack. He let me spray it on him and its effect lasted longer than if I had put an ice pack on as he wriggled away from the ice pack.. trying to keep an ice pack on a toddler is HARD!
For myself with sensitive skin I have used this to settle my skin after showers, hot days, too long in the sun and a few cases where I have had reactions to chemicals or touch on my skin.
It has been great to soothe, cool and settle my inflamed skin and my kids skin also.
I would love a more portable size?? As I think it would be great to have to take to out on hot days in the nappy bag, bag etc. It really is only water and gas. So with regards to chemical reactions for me I don't have to worry about using this and causing further reaction or damage. Great that you don't need to keep in the fridge and you still get that super cool feeling though.
Got two huge bottles last year and I really just don't understand how I'm supposed to use it,or maybe I just never found the need to? I've never had sunburns/irritations since I got them so I never tested in that aspect. I did have really bad acne breakouts and I do spray this on my face in the morning or in the middle of the day but I just don't feel any different afterwards. The redness on my face still looks hella mad at me so I don't feel like they soothe acne-related irritations. I suppose it does feel a bit cooling for the first few minutes after I spray it on but nothing that a nice cold glass of water can't do. I also tried using it to dampen my make-up brush or sponge and it didn't end up well. The concealer on my face oxidized and it was so hard to blend after that. I'm really not sure if I'm using this properly. Maybe a smaller bottle would be good to bring with me to a long-haul flight but it's definitely not something I would 'need' to bring with me nor spend on. I'm probably not going to repurchase.
