The claim made by Baby Foot is that it is a painless, convenient way to get rid of the unsightly dead and cracked skin from the bottom of your feet. They are half right. The dead and cracked skin is definitely coming off the bottom of my feet, but I would not rate this product as a convenient way of achieving that.
The box has a good list of ingredients, with pictures. The instructions are clear, but vague about when you might see results. They indicate you should not do strenuous exercise or wear heels for a week after - I assume this is to stop the shoes rubbing against your feet, but not sure.
I used this product one night when I was at home for the evening. It takes two hours for the gel socks to do their thing. While opening the socks and inserting my feet I noticed a strong, herbal odour, but this either disappeared (or I became used to it) once the socks were sealed onto my feet. The socks would be big enough for anyones feet, but are very hard to move around in, so you really need to remain still for the two hours you need to wear them for. While the gel feels nice and therapeutic to start with, by the end of the time my feet were cold, felt clammy, and I was generally over it.
The gel washed away easily at the end of the two hours, leaving my toenails white. This appears to have been simply because they were damp for so long, as it settled soon after.
I noticed very little difference in my feet until 4 days after applying the gel. At this point, the dead skin cells did, as promised, dry and begin to peel off. This was inconvenient and unpleasant as this process is reminiscent of sunburn peel, and left dead flaky skin everywhere I walked. You are told not to scrub your feet or apply moisturiser, but by Day 6 I gave in and used a facecloth in the shower to clean the skin off. This helped, actually, so I continued to do so.
While the claim that the Baby Foot socks help remove dead skin is 100% true, and the product itself is quite pleasant, the time required to see results, and the process of the skin coming off mean that this is not an experience I care to repeat. I'd rather the convenient comfort of a pedicure, to be honest. If you have the time and don't mind the mess then this could well be a great option for you.
This is hands-down a MUST for SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wear Jandals throughout summer and when I can get away with them in winter, and my feet are always getting dry and cracked. I am always really cautious of this and have been using good Pumice stone on them for when I am showering, but really don’t find that gives me 100% results. I was intrigued when I had seen this product on the BR website and put my hand up, I was pretty skeptical for a few days, as I was wanting faster results, but then I just so happened to see dry skin on my feet coming off on my sheets, it was both kind of gross and amazing, my heels of my feet I have always been most embarrassed about as they always suffer the most cracking and peeling and look disgusting, they were literally as smooth as “A baby’s Foot” I was blown away – impressed! Kind of gross but was great as also other skin areas on my feet around my toes and that would peel off and then this allowed me to peel off easily without any pain. I did notice the price was relatively high but in all honesty it’s well WORTH THE PRICE.
The only downside is that it can take up to two weeks for all of the peeling to end, which limits the kinds of shoes you wear. (Trust me, when your feet at the height of peeling, you need to wear close-toed shoes. Or just stay home and vacuum if you're barefoot!)
Tips: Not before staying at a new partners place as the skin through the sheets may not be the best to try explain
