I am terrible when it comes to applying sunscreen, this product has been a lifesaver more than once! I love that it moisturizes as well as cools skin to prevent that horrible peeling. It has a pleasant smell and although its a wee bit sticky when applied it dries reasonably quickly. The bottle lasts for ages since I don't need to use it very often and you only need a little bit at a time. Will definitely purchase again.
I found this calmed my sunburn for a little while, but not for very long. It can be very cooling, but this time of short cooling is not worthy it for me, as I found it very sticky afterwards. I feel sticky and greasy after using it, and desperately need to wash my hands. I have found other after sun gels that are much more effective.
I'm super prone to sunburn as I'm outside a lot and I'm pretty lazy when it comes to sunblock. But this is such a life saver, it's super cooling and it has stopped me peeling countless times. It's great for the price and a necessity for summer. I'm not too fond of the smell but it doesn't linger too long on me
Soothes sunburn fast. I use it every time I am out in the sun for long periods. It refreshes the skin and adds moisture to my skin.
Tips: This is great for sunburn , but did you know it is great for post tan to "set" your tan?
We are very careful with our skin in our family as we all have sensitive skin but I always keep this on hand just in case we get a little burnt. It's a nice gel substance and absorbs easily into your skin without too much of a sticky residue. It doesn't smell bad either and lasts for a long time as you only need a small amount.
Tips: Keep it in the fridge for an even cooler effect
There has been many summers where I’ve forgotten to reapply my sunblock and needed some aloe Vera gel to cool me down! This stuff definitely does the job and is nice and light and liquidy meaning a little goes a long way and isn’t tough on the skin to spread. Not sure if it aids the sunburn in any other way than soothing, but I would purchase again as it is really nice for those sunburnt days where your backs on fire
Tips: Keep it in the fridge for a little extra cooling and soothing sensation
This is a summer essential of mine! It soothes sunburn fast and helps prevent peeling at times. It smells good, easily to spread over the skin and absorbs fast into the skin.
Tips: Keep in the fridge for an even cooler affect on skin.
I burn ridiculously easily in the sun, so aloe vera gel has been my loyal summer companion for many years. I've just about tried them all! This one I used for about half a summer then absolutely couldn't stand the smell and went back to my usualy cancer society one.
It does a good job soothing my itchy and sore skin, and feels hydrating when I apply it. It doesn't seem too alcoholic but still evaporates/absorbs relatively quickly. I find a tiny tiny drop is enough for my entire face as it spreads easily. It's also good for the whole body as a gel moisturiser when you feel like cream lotions are too heavy. When I was trying to use it up I would apply it to my whole body after showering, and it felt very cooling yet keeping my skin hydrated.
The smell is the one thing keeping me from repurchasing. I don't mind an unscented product or one that smells a little strange/herb like, because at least that means they didn't add any artificial fragrance. But this smelled super unpleasant, like hot rubber or something. Even though it's been ages since I used it, I can still rememver vividly the repulsive smell that I had to bear every time I put this on my face. Absolutely couldn't stand the smell, but maybe if you're using it on your legs or arms it wouldn't be as strong.
This is a fantastic product for the first aid kit! I used it over summer a few times and it did exactly what it said it should. However once applied it did leave a bit of a sticky residue, not for long but it was rather annoying.
