Banana Boat After Sun Aloe Gel Review

I burn ridiculously easily in the sun, so aloe vera gel has been my loyal summer companion for many years. I've just about tried them all! This one I used for about half a summer then absolutely couldn't stand the smell and went back to my usualy cancer society one.

It does a good job soothing my itchy and sore skin, and feels hydrating when I apply it. It doesn't seem too alcoholic but still evaporates/absorbs relatively quickly. I find a tiny tiny drop is enough for my entire face as it spreads easily. It's also good for the whole body as a gel moisturiser when you feel like cream lotions are too heavy. When I was trying to use it up I would apply it to my whole body after showering, and it felt very cooling yet keeping my skin hydrated.

The smell is the one thing keeping me from repurchasing. I don't mind an unscented product or one that smells a little strange/herb like, because at least that means they didn't add any artificial fragrance. But this smelled super unpleasant, like hot rubber or something. Even though it's been ages since I used it, I can still rememver vividly the repulsive smell that I had to bear every time I put this on my face. Absolutely couldn't stand the smell, but maybe if you're using it on your legs or arms it wouldn't be as strong.

I've been using this since I was a child. Its my go to for after being out in the sun all day if your skin is a bit pink. And absolute must if you get accidentally super burnt! Its soothes and cools and I feel it repairs your damaged skin.

After a Banana Boat scandal that left me burnt and sore, I was sent this as a "sorry our sunblock failed". It's been in the fridge ever since and it's a blimmen delight during the hot months, let me tell ya.

I love the lid, and the fact it just pops up. The gel inside squeezes out so easily, I don't think I'll have to ever turn this puppy upside down. I also love the eye catching green, it's awesome!

The smell of the aloe gel isn't overly potent, it's quite calming and nice actually. Putting this on my sun reddened skin my whole body feels instantly cooled. I don't find it sticky at all, which is also another bonus because I HATE sticky aloe gels. They drive me bonkers!

It's definitely very soothing, and it sinks into the skin or evaporates quickly, which makes me think that's why it's not so sticky. I'd definitely repurchase.

Great on sunburn and is also soothing for itchy bites and rashes. Absorbs quickly but I do find that I have to wash my hands after applying it. Personally I have no problem with the smell but it is quite strong.

I have purchased this over the past few summers for those times when I have needed to soothe parts of my body that my sunscreen has missed. Really soothing and soaks right into my skin. There is a good reason why I buy some each summer! I just wish their sunscreen was as good.

this aloe vera gel is very green and very fragranced which is not supposed to be added in a aloe gel which is to calm down irritated or sensitive skin ,but the amazing thing is my skin feels very good after using this ,nourished and hydrated , helps with the acne and oil skin ,not non irritating at all even wont sting my eyes when sometimes i used around my eyes.

This aloe vera gel is amazing for supremely sunburnt skin it really helps keep the skin moisturised and doesn’t irritate sensitive skin despite the fact that it is nicely fragranced

Absolutely love this after sun aloe gel. As someone who loves spending time in the sun, I sometimes get sunburnt and this aloe gel bring such relief to my skin. It's soothing and not sticky and doesn't absorb too fast. It is also an affordable price which is always a bonus

A good aftersun product, doesn't feel as bad on the skin as some other after sun. Has a nice smell to it.
