Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

This product left my hair feeling almost dusty. Although it no longer felt greasy or unclean, the dusty residue it left behind wasnt nice either.

I really do have a love/hate relationship with this product. My hair type is thin, fine and super super greasy; I have to wash it every day and I know that's bad for it but I'm an oil slick by the next day.

Obviously with my hair type, after hearing about this product I was overjoyed, finally a solution to my problems!! Next time I was in farmers I picked this up in 'clean and fresh' scent.

I tried it out on multiple occasions on 2nd day hair spraying into the roots, leaving in for around 10-20mins and then brushing excess powder out as per directions. I guess having such high expectations for this product made the let down even bigger, my hair still looked greasy but now also felt heavy and gross with product build-up. I kept trying to make this work however I had the same outcome everytime.

A few weeks ago at a makeup sale I purchased a different scent, this time in tropical because it was only $7 and I thought i'd give it another go. I'm glad I did because this one worked much better! It didn't entirely give me that clean, freshly washed look however it seems to have soaked up enough oil that I feel okay leaving the house. Unfortunately it doesnt take the place of a wash and I will have to wash before going to a special occasion etc however its fine for work/gym etc so that's great!

Both scents are fairly subtle and do fade, so you don't have to worry about your hair smelling weird after application.

Overall I would still say that this is an average product as I've only managed partial success however I think I will keep using it until I can find a better alternative.

I purchased the tropical one in the huge bottle because I'd heard amazing things about it. But I actually found it didn't really work. I expected different things than what it gave me. It left white powder in my hair even after brushing it through. I have black hair and it made me look like I had major dandruff. Not impressed :(

The roots of my hair are slightly oily, so having heard great things about this product I went and bought a travel-size bottle and am slightly disappointed. It felt like it had left a coating on my hair and scalp, but it did make my roots look less oily. I probably would not purchase this again, but for the price it was an okay product.

I have seen this raved about everywhere but it seems to make my dark blonde hair look whitish at the roots no matter how many times I brush it through and run my fingers through to work it in. I am sure I am using it right but a bit disappointed! I think it's a good product for the price thought minus the white look it leaves. It's not too bad but I would rather without it!!

Okay so clearly, the title is a harmless bit of sarcasm. I purchased this product in Blush (I think) a while ago, from the Warehouse (I think!) and have recently been given a little baby one too.

I like the idea of dry shampoo. I would love to break the habit of shampooing my hair every day but I really don't see it happening, so I thought by buying this I would be able to use it in between washes. One day, I didn't feel like showering at all. Stinky day, if you will. Happily, I opened the can and gave my hair a bit of a spray. Firstly, that smell is sooooo overpowering. Its so overbearingly florally and I can taste it in the back of my throat when I use it. Yuck.

Secondly, I gave my hair a good massage once this stuff was in. My hair felt mildly cleaner, but the way it made my fingers on my hair was weird. Like it was artifically clean, and I could feel the artificial. Does that make sense? It was so weird I kept touching it and in the end my hair was greasy again so I just washed it anyway. No stinky day for me. For shame.

I do like to use this product if I plan on curling my hair though. If my hair is freshly washed this dry shampoo seems to give it extra oomph, and I really like that. So, I would purchase this again but only to use it as a pre-curling item. Otherwise I'll just stick to washing my hair!

The Warehouse had this for $5 a bottle so I bought a few to try. They work OK, but I don't agree with this being the best dry shampoo ever! It left my hair dull and felt powdery to touch. The scent of the tropical is totally overpowering and fake... I could smell my hair the whole day and not in a good way! The next bottle was Blush which was slightly better. I do find this ridiculously overpriced at Farmers and teh pharmacy.

I now use Lee Stafford dry shampoo for dark hair which does not leave my hair looking white, perhaps I'll give the coloured Batiste a go if I see it on special again.

I have this in 'Blush' and only because I got it in a subscription box. I have really short hair and have trained it to survive on one shampoo/condition a week (its naturally wavy/curly). PS google the No 'Poo movement ;) From time to time, it gets a bit oily in the last couple of days before it's due for a wash. I have used this a few times on those occasions to SOME success. Whilst it does soak up the oils, I find it dulls my hair. My hair is very dark brown and quite shiny but after use of this it looks rather dull. Also, the first time I used it I thought I was getting dandruff! I was finding product fallout on my shoulders and fingernails (I'm a hair raker) and thought it was dead skin! It does smell okay, but kind of like a room spray. I wouldn't expect someone to smell it on me and say "Oh you smell nice!" Did it make my hair look less oily? Yes. Was it easy enough for the layman to use? Sure. Would I recommend it? Probably not. Maybe if you're a blonde.
