I purchased the glow to go highlight set from Sephora which included the powder and liquid version of the cult classic Opal. This is a mini version of the real thing with a plain rather than aluminium plated lid.
Becca are world famous for their beautifully fine milled highlighters and Opal is no exception. Its smooth, creamy and just melts into the skin.
The shade is a warm champagne with very fine shimmer. It is jam packed full of pigment, so apply lightly with a fan brush, unless you wanna go all out then just swish it all over your face! I find that in summer this looks great, but is perhaps a bit too warm in winter for my pale skin tone. Moonstone and pearl are apparently better suited to the super fair, and are on my wishlist!
Becca are super pricey, but are such amazing quality, so any highlighter from this brand are a worthy investment. I do think that The Balms Mary Lou is a wee bit more affordable option and is similar enough that you could call them dupes (although Becca's is a wee bit more finely milled and leaning more rose gold than champagne gold).
I have the Becca shimmering skin perfector in champagne pop. I love the industrial looking compact it comes in. The clasp is quite stiff which means it won't fling open by accident.
Inside you have a mirror and the product. It's looks like a rose champagne colour. It's so creamy yet it's a powder. It makes my heart sing just looking at it. I get a brush and swipe some on my temples and cheek bone sort of in a 90 degree angle. Then I dust a small amount on my cupid bow before applying lipstick.
I use this almost everytime I apply makeup. It's a absolute must have in my collection. I can actually see a indent of where I have been using this which never ever happens with my products. I get bored with them easy. Not this!
So apply lightly for a subtle glow or with slightly more for a bam you need sunglasses to look at me look! If you apply slightly to much, get a big fluffy face brush and blend out.
This product is a heck yes I'll be buying again!
Tips: Don't look at the NZ price, buy from beautylish and do like me, pretend the cost is nzd. In all honestly yes it's pricey but so worth it
